Munnar: TGB organized a joint volunteering activity in painting and cleaning the hospital of Letchmi tea estate in KDHP Munnar (Kerala). The participants from 5 TATA companies included Tata Chemicals (Innovation centre), Rallis, Tata Global Beverages, APPL and KDHP. Some of the volunteers also supported by working in the kitchen garden of the hospital

Visit to the old age home

A team of volunteers from Tata Power Solar visited "Little sisters of the poor – an old age home" at Richmond Road, Bangalore. The old age home is a 175 year old institution which provides shelter to 110 old age people. Volunteers interacted with the senior residents who shared their life's experience. Volunteers got an opportunity to personally serve lunch and help with the post-lunch cleaning. Our visit to the home brought about smiles on the faces of the old age people that left us with lasting memories for a life time.

Visit to the Orphanage

A team of enthusiastic volunteers visited the orphanage - Anatha Shishu Nivasa. The orphanage is a home to 106 children located at Basavanagudi, Bangalore. Employees at Tata Power Solar contributed funds towards buying school uniform sets for all the children. Volunteers also spent time playing with the orphan children. It brought back our childhood memories and really made our evening wonderful.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL)

Drug De-addiction camps: Three Drug De-addiction camps were organized at JJ colony, Lal Bagh, Wazirpur and Jahangirpuri by Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. where 472 residents of the community got benefitted by attending free counseling sessions and availed free homeopathic medicines by the team of Prajapita Braham Kumari Ashram. The events saw participation from 44 volunteers who assisted in managing and ensured the smooth conduct of the camp. Volunteers distributed pamphlets among the community and spread awareness about the benefits which can be availed from the camp

Holi Celebration: IT Application Development Group of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. celebrated the festival of Holi with children at the Vocational Training Center-Netaji Subhash Place. The group comprised of 49 volunteers who distributed lunch boxes and food packets to the children kids present there, a drawing competition was also organized for the children and the winners were given Holi colors as gifts.

International Women's Day celebration: In the spirit of the International Women’s Day a rally was organized on the theme of ‘Women Empowerment’ on 9th March, 2015 at Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. training center - CENPEID. A massive participation of 80 female employees was witnessed during the rally. The objective of this rally was to spread awareness about the crucial role women plays in the well-being of our society and giving them an equal access to rights and resources. The rally was flagged off by Mr. Sushil Kumar Srivastava, Head(HR & Admin). All the employees participated enthusiastically and went around in the neighborhood as they said out aloud slogans on the theme and carried placards with messages on education of girl child, female feticide, etc.

Knowledge Sharing Session: Sub-Transmission Group of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. organized knowledge sharing session and Grid visit for the students of Aryabhatt Polytechnic. The group explained about TPDDL Sub Transmission Network, various equipment in a Grid Substation & new technologies implemented in TPDDL to thirty six students of the polytechnic. Six volunteers took part in conducting the session.

Nukkad Nataks: As a part of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited “Haath Badhata Haath Batata, Hamesha Aapka Saath Nibhata” campaign, company has been conducting nukadnatak in the communities for spreading awareness Corporate Social Responsibility activities, electrical safety and energy conservation. Volunteers participate actively in these nukadnataks also distribute CSR activity pamphlets/poster in the respective JJ Clusters and take feedback from the community. During the TVW 3 month six such nukad nataks have been organized involving 45 volunteers and disseminating awareness to approximately 1500 residents of JJ clusters.

Training: Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited organized a day’s training program for business associate employees where training capsule on awareness about various CSR activities like vocational training, drug de-addiction camps, mobile dispensary services, accidental life insurance and other consumer friendly schemes like easy payment options through Money on Mobile, Pay & Win etc. The participants primarily were 330 Instructors/ Brand Ambassadors, coordinators and officials of Women Literacy Program and TPDDL in four different sessions during the day. Instructors and coordinators have been instrumental in disseminating awareness about different CSR programs in their respective communities.

Mumbai: On the occasion of Gudi Padwa (a new year festival as per Hindu Calendar), Tata AIA Life volunteers visited an old age home to share some moments of love and affection. Team Tata AIA Life visited an old age home named Kisan Gopal Rajpuriya Vanprasth Ashram at Bhayander to add some joyful moments in the lives of our elders during their second innings. Partnering with Umang Foundation, volunteers from Tata AIA Life participated with great zeal and excitement. The team shared the most happening moments with the elders who were delighted to have the entire Tata AIA Life team at the venue. We also played in-house games like housie and antakshari along with the residents and they were delighted to receive prizes for winning too! Everyone was enthralled by the entertaining songs presented by Tata AIA Life volunteers.

Thailand

Tata Technologies Thailand Team conducted a Blood Donation camp and collected a total of 25. 25 volunteers contributed for this noble cause. Till date Thailand team has contributed a total of 138 units of blood to the Thailand Blood Donation Centre

Lucknow

Tata Technologies Lucknow team visited the orphanage “Drishti Samajik Sansthan” which takes care of disabled children from poorest of poor families belonging to rural areas at free of cost. The institution provides general education and vocational training to those children in order to make them able to earn their own livelihood. Tata Technologies Lucknow team donated a Water cooler and items of daily needs to the center. The volunteers spent quality time with the children followed by snacks.

The drive was undertaken in association with Sankalp India Foundation through Department of Blood Bank Bowring & Lady Curzon Hospitals Bangalore. All the donors were given Certificate of Appreciation from both the institutes. Around 20 volunteers participated in organizing this drive and making it successful.

The institution caters to underprivileged and needy students. TATA Consulting Engineers Bangalore, runs a teaching program for each batch of 10th class drop outs. Under TVW3, TCE Bangalore donated 21 computers to the institute. 27 volunteers visited to the college and undertook 3 hour session on MS Office : Excel, Word and Powerpoint for 39 students.

Titan

Bangalore

As part of Tata Engage – Volunteering week 3 , 80 active Titan volunteers have given their time and energy to be with the Titan Kanya students from 20 schools around Hosur motivating and inspiring them by teaching hygiene and better health, importance of tree plantation and protection of environment and also playing some fun games. The volunteers had a wonderful experience interacting with the children. Many of them have expressed their willingness to spend their free time to help and support these kids in the near future. The sparkle in the eyes of the “ Titan Kanyas ” reflected confidence, aspiration and gratitude !

Voltas

Mumbai: 5 volunteers from Voltas joined 4 volunteers from Tata Teleservices Limited for a visit to NAB- National Association of the Blind at Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Marg, Worli Sea Face, Worli, Mumbai. The team visited the Braille Press at NAB and were introduced to the recording methods and compiling of reading material for the Blind. They also interacted with a few associates working at NAB and helped in the binding of books

Chandigarh: Volunteers from Voltas Chandigarh, visited Chandi Kusht Ashram Society to interact and spend quality time with the leprosy patients. There are about 180 leprosy patients of all age groups, who are staying there and being looked after by the society. The volunteers also made a personal donation and distributed sweets.

Doha, Qatar:Qatar Cancer Society is one of the leading humanitarian organizations in Qatar, which pledges to work towards increasing public awareness about cancer and cancer prevention at local, regional as well as international level. A total of 32 volunteersfrom Voltas participated in the Annual Qatar International Food Festival 2015, where Qatar Cancer Society had a Cancer Awareness booth. Out volunteers helped the cause by:

Volunteers helped in organizing a quiz contest and control activities such as face painting and play area for children, they also distributed cancer awareness material to the people who were attending the food festival.

Ahmedabad:Voltas volunteers chose the rural area Dholka of Ahmedabad to spread awareness on the importance of empowering and integrating mentally challenged individuals into the society. The volunteers began the day with a procession starting from the famous lake of Dholka,and passing through small lanes & slum areas, as a part of ‘Jan Jagruti Karykram”. Volunteers distributed the hand bills printed for ‘Jan Jagruti’, interacted with the people, answered their queries and encouraged them by providing the way towards suitable solutions. People were so encouraged that an elderly lady invited the volunteers home to interact with her 22 year old ward. A scout battalion of young children, team UTTHAN also joined the procession along with other people of the town. The procession turned into a ‘Vartalap’ session arranged at the school providing training for mentally challenged individuals. Volunteers, NGO teachers, Doctors interacted with the parents and other people of the village assembled in the hall. The volunteers also shared gifts (Colouring book, crayons, lunch box,water bottle,school bag) with 40 children present in the hall. On the way back, volunteers were feeling proud to have contributed something for the betterment of theircommunity and endorsing the 'ME FOR WE’ concept

Swine Flu awareness: THSL conducted a Swine Flu Awareness program at the Aanganwadi in Medankarwadi Gram Panchayat, covering 70 children and their mothers. Sarpanch& CDPO also participated. The volunteers put up posters in the school & distributed hand wash and snacks.

Gudi Padwa Celebration: THSL team celebrated Gudi Padva with children of Samparc. THSL distributed new clothes and sweets to children. Children enjoyed the singing and dancing performances.

Cape Town:As a part of TVW-3,11 associates of Taj Cape Town took the initiative and combined their efforts to provide the Company’s Garden of Cape Town a “spick and span” clean-up. The Company’s Garden is encompassed by a number of features including , the overwhelming Iziko South African Museum and Planetarium, the graceful St. George’s Cathedral, the National Library of South Africa, the South African National Gallery and the distinctive Tuynhuys.Associates from Human Resources, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security and the Finance department partook in the kind, helpful and generous initiative. The Team walked together across the road from the hotel to the gardens and met up the CCID. They all agreed to conduct the cleanup on the main pathway of the Garden, which is adjacent to the Iziko South African Museum and Planetarium. A combined effort was decided on to clean the pathway through which most tourists walk on a daily basis. A pathway that becomes colour-coated and decorated with papers, bottles, tins and other various items.

Gurgaon: The Gateway Resort, Damdama Lake, Gurgaon, organised a personal hygiene and safety campaign on March 25, 2015 to spread awareness about the importance of Personal hygiene and safety. The HR team organised a demonstration for Personal hygiene and safety session for the entire associates of Barbet Complex Sohna. The efforts were appreciated by the Barbet Haryana Tourist Complex Sohna Unit Manager and all the associates who thanked the resort management for the same.The participation and enthusiasm shown by the associates once again proved that when it comes to community development, The Gateway Resort, Damdama Lake, Gurgaon, always is a leader in the city.

Bangalore: Going further with TATA Volunteering Week, On March 25, 2015 Vivanta by Taj MG Road, Bangalore organized a session on Personal Hygiene for the underprivileged students from Don Bosco-Breads, Bangalore. Following the session, the group of 22 students, were divided into three groups and were taken for a hotel show-around by the volunteers. This involved a brief introduction to the industry and exposure into the major four areas. The day ended with the students treating themselves to a high-tea arranged for them at the Graze Restaurant.

Aurangabad:The Vivanta by Taj Aurangabad team visited the Bal Kalyan Gruha, an NGO in Aurangabad, to create the awareness on hand wash and hygiene among these children age ranging between 6 years to 18 years. The orphanage has 60 children of varying age. The children were excited to learn about the hygiene and healthy living in the fun way and were amazed to learn the fact that just washing the hands could prevent so many diseases. In a separate activity, the Vivanta team organized a poster competition on the subject of awareness of hygiene and sanitation for their associates. Associates from across the departments participated in the competition with full zeal and enthusiasm.The winner of the best poster was from Food Production Department. The hotel also undertook cleanliness drives around the periphery of the hotel and at Salim Ali Lake.

Visit to Home for the Aged: Mumbai branch team, as a part of TVW3, visited Home for The Aged at Andheri on 23rd March, Monday. The centre takes care of “Helping People in the sunset of their lives!!!” This place is run by a little known foundation called “Little Sisters of the Poor” wherein they take care of 70-80 year olds.One of the elderly who couldn’t remember his name was very ecstatic because the visitors had bought his favorite “Elaichi Banana”. Another lady was very happy that her favorite fruit “Papaya” was here. Small gifts from our end had made their day. It was very heart-warming to hear thanks from the sisters and the seniors. Our team donated adult diapers, fruits and slim milk tetra packs. After interacting with them we left the home with a heavy heart with a promise to visit them again and help them in our little way to bring some smile on their wrinkled faces.

Visit to NAB: Tata AIG Mumbai branch Team as a part of TVW3 visited NAB workshop for Blind at Worli wherein they spent around 2 hours mingling amongst the visually blind, playing quiz (both Bollywood and GK) and Antakshari as well. There are 70 trainees and 40 staff. The team distributed 110 towels (as the management had requested for the same), burgers & coke and distributed biscuits and chocolates amongst them. They were very happy and enjoyed thoroughly by participating in the activities arranged by the volunteers

UK: As a part of Tata Volunteering Week 3, TCS UK participated in the Big Bang Fair, one of the largest science and technology exhibitions for kids in the UK. TCS volunteers designed and delivered interactive activities for over 1,500 students and participated in a big way

Security Division: Volunteers from Security Division of Tata Motors Division, Jamshedpur conductedsessions on safety, security and career counselling on jobs in defense and paramedical forces were conducted for students of SUV School at Barigora village

GET Club: Volunteers from GET Club had interaction session with farmers of lift irrigation project implemented by TML at Bohradih village on changes in their quality of life and on financial inclusion

Pune

SCM Team:SCM team conducted volunteered at Pattashibai Ratanchand- residential school (Panjrapole) of visually challenged children. The group interacted and had a good time with children. They spent good time in music class as some children played musical instruments and a Tata Motors volunteer entertained the children with tabalavadan and sung marathibharood supported by another volunteer on the harmonium.The group donated a Tabla set and distributed sweets to children.

Maval Foundry Team: A team of 46 volunteers from Maval foundry visited an orphanage in village Pachane of Maval Block. The team conducted host of activities with the children which include narrating inspirational stories including the life of our founder Mr J N Tata, taking quiz and teaching hand craft. The team also gathered together to clean up the entire premises of the hostel which hosts 25 girl children. As a token of their affection, the team also gave a month’s grocery to Abhalmaya.

ERC CAB Design (CVBU): More than 70 volunteers from ERC CAB Design (CVBU) enjoyed Tata Volunteering near Khadakwasala dam by planting Trees and creepers near the bank to withhold the soil. All supportive work for plantation like ploughing, watering was done by volunteers.

Pantnagar

Pantnagar Plant, carrying forward the volunteering spirit, organized a series of activities for volunteer across function. Senior Management pledged to volunteer by signing the Me for We pledge wall. Employees participated in the Run for Safety-Nano Marathon. Employees paid homage to Group Founder. Female employees participated in skill development and livelihood training and took awareness sessions at a local school and set up a support desk for awareness of Aadhar Card and Social issues. Volunteers participated in large numbers in a cleanliness drive in a local village and school. Experts were supported by volunteers as they conducted an HIV/ AIDS awareness session for 600 indirect workers. A Sahabhagita session was conducted by senior management on impact of coaching of weaker students. The Pantnagar team also organized a health camp for slum residents, which was inaugurated by Mayor of Rudrapur.
