The visit also included a health camp and the distribution of fresh fruits as a gesture of care and respect. On September 19, 52 volunteers from Tata Motors Limited, Pantnagar, dedicated 200 hours at the plantation site of the Material Recycle Facility cum Compressed Biogas Plant in Rudrapur. The team removed weeds that had grown during the monsoon, carried out mulching and fertilizing with coco peat, and filled gaps by planting new saplings where earlier ones had not survived. These collective efforts not only nurtured the existing greenery but also ensured the long-term survival and growth of the plantation, reinforcing Tata Motors’ commitment to sustaining ecosystems through consistent care and stewardship.

TML volunteers visited Gram Panchayat Khatola, where the Tata Motors Integrated Village Development Program is ongoing. A tailoring training center was inaugurated to train rural women in cutting and stitching of dress material. The three-month program will be followed by continuity of business through women’s groups. The Block Development Officer and Assistant Block Development Officer attended the program and encouraged women to continue their work post training. TML female employees also shared their personal journeys, highlighting the importance of financial independence for women today.

On 20th September, 50 volunteers took part in the Largest Coastal Cleanup from Neelankarai, covering the stretch from Kasimedu to Kovalam between 6 am and 9 am. The cleanup involved participants from NGOs, corporates, schools, and colleges, totaling 33,000 volunteers, all taking a pledge to protect Chennai’s beaches. The activity focused on removing plastic, litter, and pollutants to prevent them from entering the ocean, protecting marine life, and raising awareness about waste reduction, recycling, and ecosystem conservation. Our GM, Mr. Rikhe Claudius, along with five heads of departments and staff, actively participated, reinforcing the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and inspiring collective action.

On September 9, TPWODL organized a CPR and First Aid training program at the Skill Development Center, Goshala, Sambalpur, for Supervisors, Linemen, and Helpers to equip them with life-saving skills for emergency situations where immediate hospital access may not be available. The session, led by Dr. Rajaram Dash, MD (O&G) and Senior Consultant at DHH Sambalpur, included practical insights, hands-on guidance, and a live CPR demonstration. The program was inspired by the presence of the CEO, Mr. Parveen Verma, who emphasized the importance of learning and sharing CPR knowledge to save lives. The Executive Engineer also participated, reinforcing the value of safety training for frontline heroes.
