Bi-Weekly Update - 08
Children’s home visit
- Tata Chemicals Magadi
Volunteers from Tata chemicals, Magadi, visited Magadi secondary school and children home to commemorate the International Day of Charity by encouraging charitable acts to raise public awareness. They spent time with students and children where they distributed food and sanitary towels. The activity took place at Magadi secondary school and Mji wa salama children home. The activity impacted 570 children.
An awareness session on health and habits
- Tata Chemicals Magadi
Volunteers from Tata Chemicals, Magadi, organised an awareness session on health and habits where they educated the boys on consequences of youth substance abuse. The activity took place at Oloibortoto Secondary School, Ingurumani.
An awareness session on fire safety
- Tata Chemicals Magadi
Volunteers from Tata Chemicals, Magadi, organised an awareness session on fire safety at Magadi soda school. The session helped to remind everyone in the school of the best practices to avoid creating a fire risk and measures to take in the event a fire happens in the institution.
Football tournament
- Tata Chemicals Magadi
Volunteers from Tata Chemicals, Magadi, organised a football tournament at Molem ground for kids aged between 13 – 18. Additionally, the volunteers had an open forum where they discussed on important topics such as the need to invest in youth, the challenges and opportunities facing young people.
Plantation drive
- Tata Chemicals Magadi
Volunteers from Tata Chemicals, Magadi, organised a plantation drive at AIC Girls primary school, Kajiado, with an aim to reduce greenhouses emission, stopping and reversing deforestation. More than 200 volunteers participated in the activity.
Book fair
- Tata Electronics Systems Solutions
Volunteers from TEPL, Narasapura (TESS), organised a Book Fair for 167 children from local government schools in Bellur and Narasapura. This event provided an immersive educational experience featuring experiential science learning and a diverse selection of books in English and Kannada. In total, 840 books were collected, which will be distributed across schools in Kolar, benefiting over 1,000 children
East Zone Neurodiversity and Abliympics Meet
- Tata Power Group
Volunteers from Tata Power along with IHCL and Tata Steel Foundation played a key role in organising the on-ground activities at the East Zone Neurodiversity and Abliympics Meet, Jamshedpur. The volunteering included activities like arranging stalls and venues, supporting persons with disabilities in skill-based competitions, distributing food and water, and participating in mural painting centred on accessibility. Together, these volunteers successfully organized 15 skill competitions under 3 broad categories of Food, IT and Arts, jointly hosted by Tata Power and the National Abilympics Association of India, with 12 skill competition at the Tata Steel Technical Institute and 3 at Vivanta, Jamshedpur. Mr. Himal Tewari - Chief HR, Sustainability & CSR – Tata Power, Mr. Sourav Roy, CEO TSF and other senior members actively participated in the activity.
Career counselling
- Tata Power Group
Volunteers from Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited organised a career counselling programme at various Government schools. The objective of the activity was to offer career guidance, conducting psychometric tests and providing personalised advice to help students make informed career decisions.
Medical services through mobile dispensaries
- Tata Power Group
Volunteers from Tata Power-DDL organised an activity where they provided health care facilities to the community of JJ Slums and villages of North and North-West Delhi through its 7 Mobile dispensaries.
Cancer screening camp
- Tata Power Group
Volunteers from Tata Power-DDL organised a cancer screening camp for the community, where they can visit and consult the experts. The activity took place at P-4 Sultanpuri.
Nest making activity
- Tata Power Group
A nest making activity for the senior leadership was organised by the volunteers from Tata Power – DDL at Tata Power DDL Corporate Office. The nest making activity contributed to environmental conservation by supporting bird population. By providing safe nesting spaces, the activity aimed to protect endangered or local bird species. Gajanan S Kale – CEO, Suranjit Mishra – CFO and other senior members actively participated in the activity.
Seed ball making
- Tata Power Group
A seed ball making activity for the senior leadership was organised by the volunteers from Tata Power – DDL at Tata Power DDL Corporate Office. The seed ball making activity contributed to reforestation and environmental restoration efforts. This activity aimed towards enhancing biodiversity and combating soil erosion. Gajanan S Kale – CEO, Suranjit Mishra – CFO and other senior members actively participated in the activity.
Sapling plantation drive

A sapling plantation drive for the senior leadership was organised by the volunteers from Tata Power – DDL at Tata Power DDL Corporate Office. The Saplings Plantation Activity contributed to reforestation and combating climate change. This Activity aimed towards promoting Afforestation, improving air quality, while also helping to reduce carbon footprints over time. Gajanan S Kale – CEO, Suranjit Mishra – CFO and other senior members actively participated in the activity.
Awareness sessions
- Tata Power Group
Volunteers from Tata Power DDL conducted awareness sessions for students of various vocational training centres. The topics covered were women, road, electrical safety, water and natural resources conservation.
Donation drive
- Tata Power Group
Volunteers came together to distribute stationery items and snacks to tutorial students of VTC, Ashima Foundation.
WLC session
- Tata Power Group
A session was conducted by the volunteers for WLC instructors from Aradhya and Prayas NGO. In this session the volunteers interacted one-on-one with the instructors and learned about their center and the effective operation of the centre.
WLC session on personality development
- Tata Power Group
The volunteers conducted a skill and personality development session for WLC instructors of Virmani NGO. In this session the volunteers taught the instructors how to enhance their skills set and develop their personality.
ABHA Session
- Tata Power Group
A session was conducted by Tata Power DDL volunteers to engage with the ABHA workers where they were divided into groups and asked to present on specific topics. The were asked questions related to the topics to check their attentiveness and retention power. Everyone came up with different ideas of presentation such as group discussion, role play, skit, etc. It gave a platform and an opportunity to all the ABHAs to openly speak their minds. It enhanced their research and presentation skills, creativity and confidence.
Safety Session

The volunteers conducted a women safety session for students of the Sec-11 Vocational Training Centre, Ashima Foundation.
