The initiative led by the volunteers of Tata Chemicals focused on clearing abandoned, lost, and discarded fishing gear (ALDFG) from the intertidal reef area of Mithapur. Over the course of the activity, a total of 417 kg of ALDFG was removed from a 1.7 km stretch of the intertidal zone. Additionally, 17 reef-dwelling crabs that were trapped in the nets were safely released back into the reef.

On the occasion of International Coastal Cleanup Day-2024, volunteers of Tata Chemicals engaged in a beach clean-up activity at Coastguard Beach, Okha, Gujarat. The most commonly collected items included plastic bottles, straws, food wrappers, and other single-use plastics. The activity featured a sand art exhibit by talented artists from Hamusar village, creatively conveying messages of marine conservation.
