Volunteer speak

Prince Thankachan: I would like to share my most enjoyable experience of being a volunteer for Tata Engage. I visited VR Popawala orphanage that shelters orphan children and my heart melted as soon as I entered the premises. I spent one hour with the kids and taught them how to play volley ball. The kids really enjoyed the game. I also distributed chocolates among the kids and it feels great being a trainer and a friend of such kids. I appreciate Tata Engage for taking up such an initiative.

Savitri Shavi: As part of the Tata Engage and CSR activities, my colleague and I visited Shakti Foundation, an NGO working for the development of rural women. We felt proud as we entered the place. Being volunteers we spent our time providing self-defence training to women. Our group had a conversation with all the members about their livelihood and past experience which they shared with us and we tried to motivate them by sharing some of our experiences. We would definitely like to visit Shakti Foundation again.

Beneficiary speak:
Manju Utamchandani, Project Coordinator, Society for the Education of the Crippled, Mumbai
Thank you Taj Lands End for organising the Women's Day programme for our staff. It was a lovely programme that all enjoyed tremendously.

During the morning session, Chef Sitaram Petwal and Chef Chavan, taught our staff 14 different varieties of sandwiches and three varieties of salad.

The cake sent by Taj Lands End was delicious. The staff was very happy when the cake came in, especially since it was the birthday of one of their colleagues from Antop Hill.

The afternoon session was with Nikita Jani and she taught them how to wear a saree. She also discussed grooming, which was very helpful.

We are deeply grateful to you, Taj Lands End, Chef Sitaram, Chef Chavan and Nikita for having this special women's day workshop for our staff. It was a fun day that we shall all cherish forever.
