Each one Empowers one

Become a TCS Literacy Champion

At the Tata group, we welcome volunteering efforts of employees, outside the framework of the company’s employee volunteering programmes, provided it has been enabled by some element of support from the company. This Employees Own Initiative (EOI) avenue for volunteering was initiated during the pandemic, when government imposed restrictions that prevented employees from convening for mass scale activities organised by the company. The popularity of EOI as an avenue for volunteering has continued post the pandemic. It successfully democratizes volunteering, by empowering employees to volunteer at their convenience, for causes or communities they are passionate about including those in geographies in their proximity, with the company playing some role as an enabler.

One very impactful, flexible, and easy to use EOI opportunity that every Tata Group employee can explore is “Each One Empower One” – TCS’s intuitive digital literacy platform for the people, by the people. In addition to functional literacy, the online platform enables any individual to empower another by providing financial and digital literacy, while unlocking citizen entitlements - social safety nets offered by the Indian Government. The platform is accessible in 9 Indian languages and offers an engaging experience with trainings, videos, assessments and digital certificates for the volunteer and their beneficiary.
