  Yoga session for children Tata Consultancy Services  |  Delhi
A yoga session was arranged for the kids of Bal Sahyog with the help of Volunteers from PTI and Herald House. 100 kids participated in the event. It was conducted by a TCS volunteer who is also a certified yoga trainer. The session was customized as per the need of the young kids, followed by a few games. Kids were given fruits post completion of the session.
  Making a nursery for farmers Trent  |  Mumbai
A group of 50 volunteers from Trent Corporate office and a few form Mumbai stores visited a Model Farm Training center – Yuva Parivartan, NGO in Wada, Palghar. The volunteers made saplings and prepared a Nursery for the rural farmers, as these saplings will be distributed by the center to the landless farmers so that they can cultivate few crops within the house premises for consumption as well as for surplus. Volunteers also attended the session by the NGO to understand how the local farmers are trained for better crop cultivation, surplus production, agri techniques, poultry, fisheries, animal husbandry etc. The total no of saplings made by the employee volunteers was 3500.

Khalbali event was held at Noida7 Okaya Center office, to increase volunteering awareness at the DC (as it is the newest DC in Noida region). The event started with an ice breaking session wherein TCS Maitree volunteers interacted with Bharatpuria Shiksha Samiti Orphanage Kids, followed by a few fun games. A session on good touch bad touch was also included.

The team Taj Banjara-Hyderabad visited Neerakshana an NGO that works with women who want to come out of their houses in their free time to pursue their hobbies. There is also a unit within this place that is working on recycling of soaps. These soaps are received from various hotels, & sanitized and sun dried before they are made into soaps again. The recycled soaps are then distributed in the slums free of cost. The team also bought a few useful items from them.

A health check-up camp was arranged by Nahorani TE at Ankur Bikash Jatiya Vidyalaya, Rangapara. The painting of the school building was also carried out during the program.

Employees of Tubes Division visited their adopted school at Narayanpur and engaged with the students. They emphasized on the need of education and also gave talks on proper hygiene habits.

Volunteers from Teok TE, Agri-business Dept. and R&D Dept. of Teok TE, Amalgamated Plantations Pvt Ltd visited Jorhat Christian Medical Centre (Mission Hospital) at Jorhat, Assam. They visited both the general patient ward for male and female, talked to the patients and their attendants and wished them for their early recovery from the illness. They also gifted a packet containing fruits, health drinks and biscuits to each patient of the general ward.

A volunteering team from Tata Global Beverages Ltd. (Water Vertical Plant) Dhaulakuan, H.P. conducted a cleanliness drive in a nearby village "Naya Gaon Majra" where they were joined upon by various villagers. The surrounding of the place was quite shabby. So, along with locals, volunteers cleaned the whole place consisting of bushes. Having glimpse at the noble cause, kids joined the task with a great zeal. After the completion of task, they were provided with refreshment.

The Tata Global Beverages – Bangalore PC conducted volunteering activities (SWACCHA HALLI). A total of 45 team members participated in the activity of cleaning the surrounding area near the Bangalore Factory and at the T. Begur village. During the activity, the team members actively participated in cleaning & collecting all kinds of littered paper & plastic in the areas. They collected 21 garbage bags of waste.

The volunteers organized a medical check-up camp at the Anganavadi School, at T.Begur village, 1 km from the TGBL Bangalore factory. The Doctor checked a total of 38 children in the medical camp. The Head Mistress, school staff, 12 members of the TGBL Bangalore factory team participated in the Medical camp at the Anganavadi. They handed over some steel glasses & jugs for the use of the children. Sweets & water bottles were distributed to the children.

Rallis volunteers with Sr leadership team & MD & CEO visited Kolkhe school wherein tribal students made various types of science toys like maglev, DC motor, propeller & kaleidoscope etc . Students showed the toys to volunteers and explained the basic concept of science behind that toy. MD & CEO appreciated the students for their efforts. Some girl students showed their project on cosmetics focusing on no of users of cosmetics & brands of cosmetics.

The volunteers invited Koumaran Prashanti Academy for special kids and kids with autism. The kids were excited and they were engaged with colouring the artwork. They enjoyed exhibiting their talents. They were given gifts for their art work and talents.

The team visited the Training center for persons with disabilities. They met the students and their parents. The IT team members repaired their system and printers and restored their system for operational use of the students. They also gave information on ESI and PF benefits and informed them to apply for ESI card once they join the job in any organisation.

A group of female employees from TCE Delhi Office visited a slum area in Noida on to spread awareness to women and adolescent girls about the female health and hygiene through some videos and photographs. It was focused specifically on the women hygiene and the adverse effects of unhygienic practices followed due to lack of awareness. Also, at the end of the session we distributed sanitary pads to women so that they can understand the benefits of it. Same activity was repeated in another slum area where the volunteers distributed door to door sanitary pads along with verbal explanation about the women hygiene, benefits and ways of disposal.

The agenda of the visit was give-ways in terms of clothes and other linen items to the organization. The NGO hosts introduced their works to the team and showed around their premises.

A “Flash mob” was organised at State transport corporation bus stand (KSRTC) & Passport office ground. The staff was really geared up for this activity. Practice sessions went on for a week as this was an activity which would pass social messages about Child abuse etc. Around 38 staff member including family & friends participated. Dance was performed by the staffs wherein many social messages such as Child abuse, Safe Driving, Save water, Blood donation, Swatch Bharath etc were conveyed using placards & further verbally message passed to general public at the Bus stand & Passport office.

Five volunteers from Rallis India Lote unit conducted an awareness session on road safety and traffic rules through power point presentation, video clips and verbal discussion for the high school students of Sadguru Vidyalay, Gunde, Lote. The team explained the importance of following traffic rules and wearing helmet, seat belt etc. while driving.

A ‘Blood Donation Camp’ was organized in the hotel premise at the New Banquet Hall. With the infrastructural and technical support from the ‘Institute of Medical Sciences’, Sir Sunder Lal Hospital, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi total 48 units of blood were collected.

The HR Team along with few volunteers went to the Leprosy centre at Varanasi to distribute clothes for the livelihood of the leprosy patient staying at the centre. The associates at the hotel contributed their full cooperation to HR in collection of the cloth. The clothes were properly packed and then were taken to the centre for the distribution.

A prize distribution was organized to reward students who have scored first three positions in an examination after successful sessions on English Grammar by an employee of Ankleshwar Unit. Students enjoyed the sessions and imbibed a thorough knowledge of English after this course. Winners were motivated with the recognition they got and reward brought joy to them. Volunteers also cherished other students by explaining them the importance of English in their life.

Volunteers from Ankleshwar Unit along with Mr. Anil Sharma gave exposure of VR (Virtual Reality) headset to students of Gadkhol Primary School. Students experienced some thrilling videos of Roller Coaster and Air craft by taking a Virtual Tour. Students were amazed with such device and excited to experience more of it.

The Culinary Team prepared nice Veg Pizza and Local delicacy Vada Pav and same was served along with Juice, Tea/ Coffee.

A campaign to make Mithapur township "Plastic Carrybag-Free" has been initiated since the last two weeks. TCL volunteers continued their door to door awareness campaign on ill effects of plastic carrybags on the environment and human health. Residents of Mithapur township were gifted a cloth bag per household. During the door to door campaign, volunteers also motivated the residents to persuade others to give-up use of plastic carrybags as also discourage shopkeepers from offering these to customers.

With the creation of Biodiversity Park and expansion of wilderness area, the wildlife at Mithapur has been progressively improving, both in terms of species as well as the population. The population of wild hare, blue bull and the wild boar has been on the rise and the hyenas have staged a comeback. The reptile and bird biodiversity too has improved significantly. TCL employees, family members and retired employees continued their drive to conserve the Mithapur wilderness. Plastic trash was cleared from a five-hectare wilderness plot. Volunteers have pledged to continue and further strengthen their conservation efforts in the days to come.

The volunteers inaugurated the solar panel for electrification of drip irrigation. 29 volunteers from TCE, Mumbai visited Khoripada village located in Palghar district. This is flagship program of TCE under the Livelihood Program, which has created the difference in the lives of the villagers living in Khoripada. Volunteers explained the villagers about the segregation of dry waste and wet waste and demonstrated about the same by showing them practically. The importance of segregation of dry and wet waste was highlighted to the villagers by informing that wet waste can be used as manure from compost pits and whereas dry waste can be directly solid to the scrap vendors. Print outs of the pictures of dry waste and wet waste were distributed among all the men & women in the village. A small pit of 1 feet had been dug by the villagers in the open space where practical demonstration of the pit formation for compost has been demonstrated by using wet waste from kitchen and animal wastes. The importance of organic manure was explained to the villagers and that not to use chemicals was further encouraged. Volunteers visited the school and interacted with the children to create awareness on dry and wet waste. A practical segregation of wet & dry waste was demonstrated to the school kids by letting them to identify the type of waste from the dustbin which was in the classroom. Volunteers taught the school kids about the preparation of paper bags from discarded paper. School kids happily participated in the activity. Volunteers along with 25 kids organised a cleanliness drive near the vicinity of the school and imparted the necessity of cleanliness in the area. Volunteers involved with the kids from the school ranging from standard 1st to 5th by teaching them how to play football and meditation, hereby explaining the importance of meditation and role of sports for every individual.

CSR & Supplier quality team in coordination with vendor organised massive cleanliness drive under the leadership of the Plant Head. The Plant Head along with senior personal kicked off the drive with personal and team contribution by cleaning a road in the vendor park.65 vendors team in coordination with SQ coordinator conducted massive drive in the vendor park along with their team. Total 5 Km length of road having involvement of 900 volunteers form the vendors/suppliers and 300 volunteers from the Tata Motors along with senior management of the respective vendor and plant was cleaned in single day having drive to more than 3 hrs.

58 volunteers from Tata Motors Business Excellence Services (BES) visited Indrayani service committee- Sanjivani Girls Hostel. Based on Swachh Bharat Guidelines on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), team donated Sanitary Napkin Dispensing Unit, Disposal Unit with 1-year AMC, a pack of 500 napkins to the hostel. Female employees of BES conducted awareness session for the hostel girls. The team has paid fees of MS-CIT course for 5 girls. They also donated one-month grocery.

TSPDL volunteers visited ITI Shibpur, Kolkata, where they organized Career Counselling, PEP Talks followed by Mock Interviews. The event was scheduled for a day long program which started with One on One Career Counselling with each individual Candidates perusing ITI/Diploma. While the counselling was on, the volunteers shared their experiences and industry expectations with the candidates. All the Volunteers and students felt enriched from the interactions.

12 volunteers planned a visit to NAB for one to one Life mentoring sessions with visually impaired kids. This was organised to help kids at NAB overcome various challenges they face in their personal and academic lives. The volunteers devoted their time to guide them on how to achieve their goals. These sessions were concluded with distribution of chocolates to all the students.

Hotel Manager the hotel functionality & its operations to each student. Some of the students are involved in housekeeping operation and some more are joined hands in F&B department.
