TCSRD Babrala organized a drawing competition programme on World Water Day at a
village house near the Yara Fertilisers Plant, Babrala - UP. A team of volunteers
including ex-Tata employees, & school teachers organized awareness programmes on
water conservation through drawing competition for school children in different
groups of six primary & upper primary schools. The main motto of the programme was
to make the school children aware on importance of water for human health.

III students and sports activity for class IV to VIII students at Middle School

for drawing competition. Winners received prizes and sweets each of them.

TGBL Bangalore conducted a free medical camp for school children present in the
neighboring village of the factory site location. This year the factory identified
one Government primary school, Narasapura, Nelamangala Dist Bangalore. The school
is located 6 km from the Factory site and consists of the students from lower primary
sections. A total of 24 students of the age group 10 to 12 years were subjected
to full physical checkup. Based on the prescription of the doctor the students are
issued with the medicines and for furthers evaluation, the students’ parents were
informed and on the cost of the company referred to MATRU SHREE Hospital.

New Primary School Bantanagar, Adityapur. All the children participated enthusiastically

for villagers of Itagarh and over all 78 members of the village including school’s
students were benefited. Team of Doctors distributed vitamin and iron supplements
and necessary medicines and recommended further medical treatments. This camp also
included an awareness campaign where our team enlightened the males, females and
children about health, hygiene and sanitation.

Tata Sponge volunteers organized a sunstroke awareness program at Dampur village,
Kandara Grampanchayat in Keonjhar, Odisha. The program witnessed participation from
company volunteers and a local NGO. During the awareness program, villagers were
made aware about causes of sunstroke and heatstroke related problems during summer
months. Knowledge was shared on the preventive measures. The villagers were advised
to have small meals throughout a day and to drink plenty of water.

“Reduce Reuse Recycle” activity for students [IV, V, VI, and VII] of Utkramit Middle
School Bhatia Basti Kadma. Volunteers conducted a quiz competition related to environment,
gave token gift to the winners. Volunteers aware the students how to use waste material
like waste car wheels, bottles, they made study table by car wheel, unused bottle
dust bin, pen stand, flower pots and chalk dust bins etc. Students enjoyed and learnt
precious things for life. They also distributed sweets and pens to each of them.

Tata Sponge volunteers organized a mega blood donation camp in the company township
today. The program was inaugurated by the Managing Director who encouraged everyone
to come forward and save lives by donating blood. Also present during the occasion
were the CFO, Chief (BES & CSR), senior executives & others. The program was made
successful by 115 volunteers including company employees, contractual workforce
& family members. The program completed with collection of 100 units of blood by
the Red Cross Society, Keonjhar.

The volunteers from Coastal Gujarat Power Limited (CGPL) took a unique initiative
to mark World Sparrow Day. In close coordination with the Biodiversity Club of CGPL,
they distributed free artificial nets for the sparrows. The volunteers mobilized
voluntary contribution and distributed 500 nests to all the residents of the CGPL
Aashiyna township as the summer is the breeding season for sparrows and this happens
to be just the right time to set up the nests.

12 Volunteers from Taj Bangalore visited Morning Star Ashrama near Bagalur cross
Bangalore and served lunch to the resident children. Morning Star ashrama is a charitable
institution located near Bagalur cross in Bangalore. They provide food, education
& shelter to about 110 abandoned children. Out of the 110 children, around 45-50
children are bedridden due to undernourishment. Taj Bangalore supports this Ashrama
by donating surplus food every day.
