The volunteers decided to visit World’s largest Bear rescue facility i.e. The Agra Bear rescue facility – Wildlife SOS, so that we could understand their actual cause of working and spread awareness for their betterment. They have rescued over 600 bears by now. The team bought some fresh fruits to feed the bears there and to know more about their routine life. They also volunteered for a cleaning drive there & painting of doors.

A blood donation camp was organised at Nahorkutia Tea Estate Hospital. The camp was conducted in collaboration with expert team from AMCH, Dibrugarh aided by Nahorani BPHC. A team of 2 lady medical specialist, 2 PG Student and 6 nos. Technician staff from AMCH, Dibrugarh helped to conduct the programme. A total of 23 donors donated their blood.

Volunteers of Rallis India, Lote unit arranged an awareness session on water and energy conservation through hydro power generation unit at Survey wadi and Budha wadi of Ghanekunt Grampanchayat. Rallis has recently installed a hydro power generation unit at this village for the benefit of seventy two families. They have also installed 32 nos. street lights which are sufficient for their daily requirement. The generated water is utilized for their domestic purposes and farming purposes. The team briefly explained the benefit part of the power project. Few school students also attended the session.

A group of 7 Volunteers of Rallis India Limited, Lote unit visited the Matoshri Old Age Home at Khed. There are 15 residents in the old age home. They spent time with them, took them into the open premises, had good conversation, took photographs, etc. In the end volunteers distributed turkey towels, fruits and biscuits to them.

Taj City Centre Gurugram invited elder residents of Nirmal Chhaya for a movie show and lunch. Around 20 elders from Nirmal Chhaya visited the hotel, volunteers greeted them with aarti and teeka at the lobby, served welcome drink and took them for movie show at Ballroom. The General Manager, HOD’s and other staff interacted with them and served them lunch. The elders then shared their stories with staff on High Tea and clicked pictures.

They voluntarily came forward to support the great cause of supporting the underprivileged Thalassemia patients. One of the two treatments for Thalassemia patients is blood transfusion. Hence the donated blood collected would be used to treat patients suffering from this ailment.

A presentation on E-Waste Management was made for improving awareness of the fraternity of BA College of Engineering Jamshedpur. The audience of 200+ comprised members from the college management, faculty and students..The session covered the quantification of the problem of e-waste management, the associated hazard, current unregulated practices by unorganized sector and the government rules and regulations and initiatives to rectify and correct the situation. The presentation also spoke about the definition of the roles and responsibilities of the various stakeholders in the lifecycle of an electronic product. The presentation was very well received and appreciated by both the students and the faculty and was followed by a lively interaction and question answer session.

The volunteers from Coastal Gujarat Power Limited in association with the nearby school has organised events to celebrate World water Day. On this day, mass awareness program on water conservation, prudent usage of the water and the role of the community in preservation and conservation of water has been explained to the community and the school students. During the day, special video show on Water and Life was shown to the school students. Special badges were prepared to mark the day and distributed to all the employees and the workers for mass awareness. Quiz program for the school students was organized in the school, where large numbers of students has actively participated. The theme of the quiz was revolving around “Water”. The winners of the quiz were awarded and given the appreciation certificate.

A group of 46 enthusiastic team members including Yojaka Pvt Ltd (a company maintaining the beaches in Mangalore) took the initiative of planting fruit trees alongside the full stretch of the garden. Various types of fruit trees as in Mango, Jamun, Chikku, Badam & Ashoka/Bamboo plants were planted. The hotel donated water hose pipes & nursery green clothes for shading the plants. It was a good turnaround of employees as this was an activity which gives back to the environment cleaner air required for human survival.

The Students were very excited and many expressed interest to join hospitality for their careers. At end of the training refreshments were offered to all students.

On World Water Day, volunteers went to the Lalbhatta bustee where Tata BlueScope Steel has extended the water line for drinking water daily for 3 hrs. for the bustee people. The volunteers discussed and made them aware of using clean water, keeping good hygiene at home and diseases caused by poor water, and a lack of sanitation and hygiene. They requested and insisted the people on keeping the area around the drinking water clean otherwise the water will be contaminated and will be cause of diseases. They also listened to their problems related to the timings of the water facility and the wastage of water as one of the tap that has been broken. They noted down their problems.

The volunteers conducted awareness program on pollution control and organized drawing competition for 130 students. This program successfully met the objective by spreading communication on impact of pollution and sustainability for livelihood. 30 girls from Avasara School- A First-of-its-Kind Academy visited TCS Pune Branch. The Visit was divided into 2 parts- GE Lab Visit & Aero-modelling Workshop. In GE lab the curious minds were exposed to Drone, Animated Games and Robot Models. After that the girls were given a deeper insight on Model Aircraft and the mechanics and engineering behind them. Both the activities were highly appreciated by the girls and the school staff.

During their visit employee volunteers helped in organizing health camp for the villagers and interacted with villagers to know about their developmental needs. Employee volunteers also contributed to distribute stationery among children of the villages. The team decided to work with the villagers on a sustained basis to help them in area of education and livelihood.
