Traffic safety awareness Tata Technologies  |  Pune
 
Tata Technologies volunteers helped the Pune police manage road traffic during immersion of Ganesha idols at Pimpri-Chinchwad. Volunteers also created road safety awareness by asking families to wear helmet and follow traffic rules. They also helped move safety (crash) barricades and placed them on alternative routes. This activity went across the city for the entire night before Ganesha immersion.
 
  Teacher’s day celebration Rallis India  |  Panvel
 
Volunteers along with a resource person visited Barvai school on Teacher’s day. They taught students how to make various types of flowers of crepe papers. Students and volunteers enjoyed making flowers and showed their respect towards all the teachers by offering wishes with the bouquet of these flowers. The activity ended with a lunch together.
 
  Henna training Rallis India  |  Shahpur
 
Volunteers organized a henna training for 11th standard girls at Shenve school near Shahpur. The tesource person taught them various designs of henna. The volunteers gave them their hand to practice different designs.
 
  Career counselling Rallis India  |  Shahpur
 
The volunteers visited Shenve Girl’s Tribal school and explained students various career options available after 10th & 12th grade. They interacted with students to understand their interest areas and guided them personally with the appropriate career option.
 
  Visit to a hospital Tata Motors  |  Thane
 
Employee volunteers from Tata Motors and Tata Technologies visited the Thane mental hospital. They interacted with the children and conducted a t-shirt painting session. They painted white t-shirts with different colors and designs. The children had a great time using colors to paint their imagination.
 
  Educational kits distribution Tata Projects  |  Hyderabad
 
A team of 7 volunteers from Tata Projects, Hyderabad visited a primary school at Ghatkesar. They distributed educational kits to the children. Employees from different departments spent half a day with children and organised activities such as storytelling and games. The idea behind this activity is to make their day a special one and see the smile in the faces of children.
 
  Visit to an animal’s health centre Tata Chemicals  |  Babrala
 
A team of 14 volunteers visited an Animal’s Health Centre – OPD near Tata Chemicals Limited – Babrala unit. All volunteers supported in helping the cattle owners register, examining the animals and counselling the cattle owners.
 
  Awareness session for parents The Tinplate Company of India  |  Jamshedpur
 
The volunteers undertook a session with the parents of the children. The basic objective of this session was to make the participants understand the benefits of the cleanliness. A quiz was organized to understand the attitude of individuals towards cleanliness. To their dismay, only 30% of the females were aware of the real benefits of the cleanliness at large. In the end the participants pledged that they will keep their place clean and persuade others to do so by making Mohalla Committee to implement the good practices.
 
  Basic excel training for teachers Rallis India  |  Dahej
 
Rallis India Limited Dahej Unit organised a basic Microsoft Excel training for the teachers of Atali Ashram School Dahej. The volunteers from the account department took initiative and conducted three-hour long session on Basic Microsoft Excel. Volunteers also helped teachers understand how important it is to use excel to maintain data. They undertook a practical demonstration of different formulas and functions.
 
  Toy making session Rallis India  |  Ankleshwar
 
Rallis India, Ankleshwar unit organised a science toy making session for 50 Students of Gadkhol Primary School. A Science expert helped students make different toys and explained the scientific reasoning behind it. Students and teachers made more than 15 toys with simple and common materials like paper, spiral, straw, pencil and magnet.
 
  Habitat Protection Drive Tata Chemicals  |  Mithapur
 
The coastal zone at Mithapur provides a habitat for many species of flora and fauna, some of which are rare or endangered. The Houbara Bustard, the Harriers and the Eurasian Hobby are regular winter visitors and stop here to recuperate before continuing their migration journey. Thus, Mithapur is an important stopover point for these species and the habitats of these birds need to be protected. Also, the coastline of Mithapur plays host to the nesting of Green turtles, an endangered marine turtle species. Employee volunteers, family members and retired employees participated in the drive to remove "Prosopis juliflora", an exotic weed, which has been spreading rampantly and has been creating major problems in the region. This exotic weed starts to sprout following the monsoon rains and it needs to be checked on regular basis to ensure protection of the coastal ecosystem.
 
  Quiz competition for children Rallis India  |  Lote
 
Seven Volunteers of Rallis India, Lote unit conducted a quiz competition on general knowledge at Sadguru Kadsiddheshwar Vidyalaya, Gunde for their 10th standard students. They prepared 25 questions related to district level, state, national and international level matters. 66 students participated in the competition. At the end of the session prizes were distributed to the winners.
 
  Cleanliness drive Root Corps (Ginger Hotels)  |  Mangalore
 
Employee volunteers undertook a cleanliness drive in the neighbourhood of the hotel. They also spread awareness amongst the public about the importance of cleanliness.
 
  Dengue and malaria awareness Tata Sponge Iron  |  Odisha
 
The Employee Recreation Club, Tata Sponge township, Bileipada organised a general awareness session on Dengue and Malaria. 110 school students, parents, teachers, villagers, Asha Saathi, ANM Didi & Anganwadi workers participated in this session. The Naib-Sarpanch expressed her appreciation for company's efforts towards curbing vector borne diseases in the locality. An interactive quiz competition encouraged students to test their new-found knowledge and helped clarify their doubts. The program was highly appreciated by the local community.

Tata Volunteering Week 8 kicked off at Tata Steel with the Vice President (Human Resource Management) visiting the ‘School of Hope’, a centre for differently-abled children. He interacted with the special children and took part in the Teacher’s Day Celebration. He was ably supported by his team and more than 35 employees of HRM JDC joined hands in interacting and motivating the children and their parents about the importance of education.
 
  Hygiene awareness amongst children Tata Steel  |  Jamshedpur
 
One of the technological break-through in washing hands is the Tippy-Tap initiative. In rural India, where there is scarcity of water and no provision for running water, it was becoming difficult to inculcate the habit of washing hands amongst school children. The Tippy-Tap installation comes in very handy to resolve this issue. Tata Steel Bamnipal has started installing Tippy-Taps in the primary schools in and around its area of operations. A team of two officers visited PS Rasol and installed the system. They also demonstrated how to use the tap. The children were extremely happy and expressed their gratitude.

A team from Pellet Plant visited a primary school in Bhardari. The school was adopted by the Pellet Plant in Tata Volunteering Week 7 and various activities have been conducted by the team in the last year. In continuation with the initiative, they celebrated and interacted with the school children and took part in the Teacher’s Day Celebration.

A team from Procurement JDC organised a tree plantation drive with the Yuval Dal & Mahila Seva Dal youth at Namda Community Centre. Team. They also trained the children in the art of planting and explained how to take care of trees.
 
  Dengue awareness Tata Steel  |  Jamshedpur
 
A team from HRM JDC organised an awareness session on Dengue at Namda Community Centre. The team explained what they can do to prevent this disease from impacting them personally and how to ‘Be A Wall Against Dengue’ disease. As part of Tata Volunteering Week 8 the team continue their efforts in working with local communities to raise awareness on dengue prevention.

With the aim to maintain a clean town and river bank, a team from Town Maintenance West Bokaro organised a cleanliness drive at Rajivnagar river bank. As part of the movement the team will continue their effort to make people aware that how to keep the town clean and green.
 
  Blood donation drive Tata Technologies  |  Pune
 
Tata Technologies employees organized a blood donation drive at their society premises. A local blood bank was invited to support the activity. A group of 45 members donated blood and supported the cause.
