girls from remote villages of Singhbhum (east & west districts) for community health
provider training in Tinplate Hospital. This training enables them to join in 2
years job oriented CHP Training at Tinplate Hospital with free boarding & lodging.
Volunteers interacted with the girls and encouraged them to complete this program
for a better future.

Volunteers from TCIL organized a drawing competition for students of four village
remedial centres which are conducted near Hurlung panchayat in Jamshedpur. Nearly
50 students participated in the competition held at Nutandih Remedial Centre. The
theme of the competition “Swachh Bharat” was kept with a motive to create a sense
of belongingness towards the environment among the students. Volunteers were very
amazed to see the creativity and imagination of the children which was portrayed
in their drawings.

also got opportunity to ask questions related to reproductive health and the preventive
and curative treatments.

Tata Chemicals in partnership with Covenant Centre For Development (NGO) runs Village
Learning Centres at Sriperumbudur for providing extra coaching classes to students
of government schools. The children are also provided training on various other
soft skills and extra-curricular skills for their all-round development. Tata Chemicals
organised a session on “art and craft from waste materials” with the help of volunteers.
During the session 18 children of the surrounding villages participated. The children
were taught to make earrings, Lord Ganpati, flowers, fruits, greeting cards, photo
frames, ornamental hangings, jewellery, ornamental lights, etc from waste materials
such as CDs, water bottles, plastic sticks and straws.

short on blood and there is an urgent need to enrich their capacity. A person spends

the increased requirement of blood before Durga Puja, our volunteers from Kolkata

can call home. Tata Communications London volunteers joined hands with St Mungo’s
to identify and provide assistance to those who sleep on the London streets each
night. Volunteers made a difference to these vulnerable people by lending a patient
ear to their critical problems, providing advice under the guidance of St Mungo’s
staff and understanding the requirements of these individuals, with an attitude
of positivity, problem solving and benevolence.

Home at Jorhat, Assam. They conducted a health check-up of elderly residents by
medical officer and health assistant of Teok TE and provided medicines. They also
provided some fruits, eatables and ration, etc. All the members of the visiting
Teok TE of APPL spent some quality time chit chatting with the residents of the
Oldage Home.

The Security department and Corporate Centre JDC of Tata Steel organized a road
safety awareness campaign near the GORC main road, where the team members distributed
leaflets on road safety, traffic rules and general safety measures to be taken during
emergencies. Volunteers also ensured a checking system where they checked whether
vehicle drivers and bikers were complying with all the road safety rules or not.

The team from Taj hotels Hyderabad in collaboration with Tata Business Support Services
visited the girls school run by the Telangana Society for Social Welfare under the
government of Telangana. A special session on menstrual hygiene was organised for
the girls in the menstrual age bracket & they were explained the importance of hygiene
during this time. A doctor from The Star hospitals was available to take this session
& she explained the girls on importance of hygiene & how to deal with the changes
in the body physically during this age. The girls were later distributed sanitary
napkins and they were encouraged to use the same.

The Security manager from Taj Krishna Hyderabad visited the Tata Strive Center at
Hyderabad and spoke to the students about work place challenges and how to deal
with the same. Also touched upon were the topics of job keeping & preparing on work
life readiness, The students were extremely enthusiastic during the session and
were quite happy with the inputs that they received from him. They even asked him
a lot of questions related to dealing with life in the corporate world. Members
of the HR Team of Taj Krishna Hyderabad visited the Tata Strive center in Hyderabad
and spoke about Change Management. It was a subject very relevant to them as they
are about to finish their course and move into work life. The session mainly focussed
on the changes that one faces from a student life to work life & how to deal with
them.

The teams from Taj Krishna, Banjara & Deccan came together to clean the periphery
of Taj Banjara Hyderabad. The drive started with the volunteers taking a Swacchta
Pledge to show their commitment to the cleanliness of the nation. The volunteers
cleaned the entire area & collected the waste which will be picked up from the hotel
by an authorised vendor who disposes the same at a spot approved by the Government
of Telangana. The whole idea of initiating this cleaning activity is to ensure our
contribution for the society and by involving our associates into the cleaning we
make them to care for the cleanliness of the periphery in which they work.

This Durga Puja, TIS ventured out to meet inmates of the old age home in Ramthakur
Bridhhabaas, Uchhhepota, Kolkata. This home on the outskirts of the city is where
Govindo Haldar stays with 26 people, most of them in their late 70s. They interacted
with them, spent time listening to their stories, singing and dancing. They donated
essential items of daily use such as bedsheets, towels, snacks, sweets and toiletries,
which we handed over to them.

distributed 1000 copies of "Sadhana Weekly" Diwali Issue to children who are studying
in 3rd std to 10th std. This magazine covers development and social topics which
shall imbibe moral and ethical children to learn from the moral stories and get
them motivation for self-development and society at large. Sadahana Weekly was started
by Freedom Fighter, Writer and Social Reformer Late Shri. Sane Guruji. His literary
work is famous in children and teaching community. Hence, it was decided to sponsor
reading materials to the students so they can read and reflect. A small test will
be arranged after Diwali vacation to see the impact among the children of this initiative.

campaign and various exhibition were organised in the event. 122 volunteers had
