Mentoring programme Tata Consultancy Services  |  United Kingdom & Ireland

TCS UK&I launched a 10-week mentoring programme together with EDT (Engineering Development Trust). Over the coming 10 weeks, over 10 TCS volunteers will mentor a year group of 120 girls in an all-girls school in London. The aim of the programme is to link pupils with companies, and empower them to make informed decisions about their career options, particularly with regards to STEM subjects. Pupils have now embarked on a ten-week STEM experience, learning practical and effective industry skills. The scheme will culminate in December with a Celebration and Assessment Day (CAD) where a project report, presentation and display stand will be assessed by our mentors. The programme means one more step towards the objectives of IT Futures (the TCS UK&I flagship education programme), as TCS is leading change with the aim of empowering the next generation of talent to become future leaders in the technology and digital industries. The relationship with this school reflects the current priority on inspiring not just students, but girls. The volunteers who have given their time to mentor the young girls are a key element - if not the most key - for the success of this programme.
