Instant Coffee Division, Theni of Tata Coffee Limited runs a tailoring centre for
women in association with an NGO - SRED in its village, Jayamangalam. Through this
tailoring institute more than 500 women are provided training on tailoring, candle
making & soft toy making, etc. A team of 15 women members were provided power sewing
machines at the centre. It will allow them to make their earnings through stitching
of shopper’s bags, pillow covers etc. The unit identified 10 deserving underprivileged
women, who were trained from the centre, and were given sewing machines.

Vivanta By Taj Gurgaon, NCR team organized a blood donation camp in association
with Rotary Blood Bank Gurgaon. A total of 41 employees voluntarily donated blood
and contributed for the cause. The activity ended on a happy note where Rotary Blood
Bank awarded certificates of appreciation & medals to the volunteers.

Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE), Delhi NCR volunteers organized an out-door event
for small kids of an orphanage - Mala Smriti Home, Noida. There are about 25 kids
in the age group of 2-15 years and 7 staff members in this orphanage. TCE arranged
a visit to National Zoological Park, New Delhi for these kids. The kids were very
excited and cheerful during this event since this was first such event for most
of them. After visiting zoo, the volunteers had arranged lunch for these kids and
spent time with them playing few games.

the concerns of residents of this orphanage and donated one-month grocery to them.

tree saplings of neem and other bio -friendly varieties in the Jayamangalam village
and factory premises in order to develop the environment sustainability. The initiative
was headed by the company's Executive Director supported by the Site Head of the
unit, Plant Manager and volunteers.

Runwal Heritej, Dange Chowk, Pune. 100 people benefited from this camp.

Animal health camp

Two animal health camps were organized at Jijonda Madi and Pataria Hatt of Rajpura
and Junawai blocks of Gunnaur Tehsil respectively. These camps were organized in
collaboration with Department of Animal Husbandry, Uttar Pradesh. In these camps,
around 506 cattle owners participated and 529 cattle were treated. The cattle owners
were from around 56 villages of Gunnaur Tehsil. In this camp, the modern medical
equipment like ultrasound machines were used to examine the gynaecological cases
in animals. This was the major highlight in these camps as these kinds of facilities
were not used in this district.

Volunteers from Tata Elxsi Chennai office embarked on a beach cleaning drive and
spent three hours of highly productive volunteering time and picked up 10 large
bags full of garbage. During the process, they created awareness among the strollers
and inspired many others.

& Ittegegud areas at Mysore and requested the shop owners not to sell the tobacco
products & alcohol to minors (aged below 18). They also explained them about the
government law “Selling cigarettes and other tobacco products to minors will attract
a jail term of up to seven years and a fine of Rs 1 lakh”

163 volunteers of Tata Communications, Pune got an opportunity to mentor a group
of young entrepreneurs to use social media for increasing knowledge on modern designs
for their products & aligning their products with the current market & demand. The
sessions helped budding entrepreneurs on the usage of "Digital Platform" to take
their business to the next level.

Team of 6 volunteers from Drama Wing of Tata Motors Kalasagar performed a street
play to raise awareness amongst community members on issues related to malnutrition.
They conducted 7 programs in PCMC slum areas and one program in a higher secondary
school. The team has received overwhelming response from the community and has reached
more than 1400 people through these street plays.

the students and teachers.

Senior leadership participated in the volunteering drive at the community allied
training center, slum health awareness workshop and drinking water projects implemented
in the tribal village near the plant vicinity. They interacted with the stakeholders
and also awarded them for their community service in the slum area. They held a
meeting with tribal community and handed over the drinking water handpump to the
villagers with message to Save Water Save Earth.

Climate change has adverse effect on our planet, and adapting to it is critical
to improving livelihoods. Natural resources are best protected when the locals play
an active role in protecting the environment. Tata Communications volunteers from
Hyderabad and Pune engaged in a seed ball making activity, and made 3050 seed balls.
These balls were later thrown into dry lands to increase the green cover.

A blood donation camp was organised in collaboration with Base Hospital Haldwani
and OHC. Volunteers across from the shop/offices donated blood to save the life
of victim in road accidents or emergency. 125 volunteers donated blood.

Counselling & mentoring session

A team of volunteers visited the Pratham Hospitality Vocational Training Centre
at Udaipur for a career guidance and counselling session. Apart from individual
counselling with the students who are mainly from the tribal belt of southern Rajasthan
villages, the team spent time conducting formal training sessions for the students.
The hotel first interacted with the faculty and administration of the institute
to identify the topics on which they required assistance from the hotel. Accordingly,
sessions were conducted on Hospitality Basics, Food Safety, Technological Interventions
in Hotels and Flower Arrangements for the students. The volunteers also carried
Hospitality Magazines and Publications for the Institute’s Library. The students
were invited to practice the skills learnt during the sessions while the team was
addressing the individual queries of the students. The day ended with a pleasant
surprise when the students presented a beautiful handmade card to the team as a
token of thanks and appreciation to the volunteering team.

Tata Communications volunteers from Pune visited Pani Panchayat at Khaladgaon and
engaged in organic farming, tree plantation and watershed management. The volunteers
also got a chance to learn about the concept of water footprint related to their
daily activities. The 94 volunteers also interacted with the local people and experienced
the rural cuisine.

300 Sales & Marketing colleagues took part in three different sets of volunteering
activities as an integral component of their Global Sales Meet in Bangalore. A group
of two hundred associates visited Sukrishi Farm – an award-winning eco-sensitive
farming & tourism experience – where they engaged in seedling plantation, acquired
hands-on experience in rain water harvesting and composting and enjoyed an organic
meal. A team of sixty associates visited Taj-Tata Strive’s Youth skilling and Certification
Centre at Taj West End, Bangalore and Bosco Yuva Kendra – an NGO which helps mobilize
less privileged youth for this skilling programme. The volunteers engaged with the
faculty and the students to support this programme through interactive sessions.
A team of forty senior leaders engaged in interesting activities that involved brainstorming
and suggesting growth paths for Social Entrepreneurs, incubated by IIM-Kolkata’s
Innovation Park. The team brainstormed to identify ways by which the Taj circle
of influence – supply chain, industry and individual networks – can be leveraged
to support endeavors like vertical landscaping solutions for urban pollution control
and paper recycling & LPG-free cooking solutions.

Parishad school Barvai. As Diwali festival is close, students were excited to make

H Blast Furnace team visited a primary school in Bonta Boram and donated 130 school
shoes for all the children. The team spent time with the children and reviewed the

Annual Functional Meet in Mumbai. They co-created beautiful book-marks along with

of less privileged children in Mumbai. It was a meaningful and high-energy session
aimed at enthusing both children and volunteers to be more creative, collaborative
and to invoke their fun and imaginative sides.

Volunteers organized a pottery workshop for the students of Z P School Bhingar.
In the event some students were taught how to make ganesh idols out of soil. Volunteers
helped students make various shapes of ganesh. Some students enjoyed pottery on
the wheel. Students made assorted items like diyas, plates, flower vases out of
red soil with the help of wheel.
