The team organized a blood donation camp in association with Bangalore Medical Services
Trust (BMST). A total of 51 employees voluntarily donated blood and contributed
for the cause. BMST is a not-for-profit organization of Rotary Club of Bangalore
and TTK group of companies. They have been providing blood banking & transfusion
services to hospitals & patients in Bangalore and surrounding districts since 1984.

10 volunteers of Tata Power-DDL participated in Nukkad Naatak organised for beneficiaries
at Shalimar Bagh, Delhi raising awareness within community towards electrical safety.
Members of the community went back with the message of ensuring safety in their
houses and neighbourhood from electricity and electrical appliances. Large number
of the community engaged in the activity and participated in a quiz conducted towards
the end of the session.

organized a Stem Cell Donors camp. 7 employees signed up as potential stem cell
donors. Their Buccal Swab samples will be tested and the anonymized results (only
an alpha-numeric identity, age, gender, weight, height and HLA typing result) will
be made available on the worldwide registries which are searched daily for patient-donor
matches.

JUSCO, PSD and EPC dept. organized sports activity at Middle School Dungani and
Mistipada Padika Vidhyalaya. All the children participated enthusiastically in all
fun activities arranged for them, like ball in the bucket, throwing the ball, kick
the balloon race, spoon race etc. They organized Drawing Competition for class I
to III students and Musical Chair event for class IV and V students and winners
were distributed prizes. The team also distributed books, educational kits, biscuit
packets, beverages and goodies to all the children. The activity ended on a happy
note where our team danced with the children.

The food production team assisted PAWMENCAP, an organization which imparts training
in socialization, self-help skills, speech & occupational therapy, vocational training
and rehabilitation for intellectually impaired children of all severity levels belonging
to all socio-economic strata. PAWMENCAP, has a vocational training course in which
student above 18+ are imparted cooking skills, and they generate revenue by providing
lunch and snacks to nearby organizations. In addition to this, senior students also
prepared meal for intellectually impaired students sheltered within the school itself.
On request of the school, the kitchen team had provided detailed recipes and demonstration
of Muffins, cookies, Almond rocks and few snacks that they could prepare for both
students and organizations in the school vicinity.

With “Spread a Smile” Initiative, Gurgaon volunteers team was back in action in
the form of book donation drive. The drive started with the TCS associates donating
old books which were in good-reusable conditions. The book donation drive culminated
by donating the books to a partner organisation, GNSS. The event was kicked off
with an interesting story telling session, the volunteers read out some very heart-warming
moral based stories to the kids from GNSS, in an interactive session that was open
to imaginative and creative thinking, allowing kids to explore the world of storytelling
and book reading. Children over 4th grade were taught about the usage of dictionary
after which dictionaries were handed over to the 60 kids. The books donated by the
TCS associates will be used by the GNSS for setting up their library for the first
time.

International Literacy Day was celebrated at Saksham Foundation, Delhi with great
enthusiasm. The event kicked off with a quick introduction, followed by a great
session on “Tips on excelling in Examinations” by volunteers. They discussed about
the ways to learn things using mnemonics, creative ways to learn dates, concentrate
better in class, learning with fun and lot more which was thoroughly welcomed and
appreciated by the kids. This was followed by a session on “A Healthy Diet” by a
senior doctor from AVP Healthcare, who discussed about the importance of a balanced
diet and Do’s and Don’ts of a healthy diet with all the beneficiaries. Fruits and
hygiene kits were distributed amongst the kids to support learning in the session.

pencil box, pens, pencils and sharpeners were distributed. The volunteers formed
several teams and went door to door to inform the villagers about the essence of
sanitation and education. They encouraged them to use the toilets, constructed with
the help of the company.
