The launch ceremony of Tata Volunteering Week 7 was inaugurated by the Executive Director and CEO of the company. The day was celebrated with a floral tribute to Sir Jamsetji Tata on his 178th birth anniversary. The Executive Director and CEO delivered a speech highlighting the importance of social development. Employees also shared their experiences about volunteering. Coastal Gujarat Power Limited has resolved to celebrate Tata Volunteering Week 7 with a theme, titled ‘No Plastic Waste’.
  Blood donation camp Coastal Gujarat Power  |  Gujarat
Coastal Gujarat Power organised a blood donation camp which witnessed participation from employees as well as the company associates. Officials from Indian Medical Association, Gandhidham also participated in the blood donation camp. A total of 104 units of blood were collected at the end of the camp.

Volunteers from Ginger Hotel Agartala organised a Sports Day at Bholananda Vidyabhavan Primary School, Kunjaban. Students participated in various games planned by the volunteers. Prizes were distributed for winners in various category. A lot of enthusiasm was witnessed among the students.

Team members of Ginger Hotels, Ahmedabad organized a plantation drive near Indraprastha Society. The volunteers also spread awareness regarding environmental responsibility and importance of plantation. A total of 24 volunteers participated i the activity.

Team members of Ginger Hotels, Indore conducted a skill development program. The programme was conducted for the students from Frankfinn Institute. A total of 37 students participated in the 3 hour workshop.

Ginger East Delhi Team organized a plantation drive. A total of 20 volunteers participated and planted trees near the hotel area.

Ginger Jamshedpur along with a team of 20 volunteers organized a Health & Hygiene and sanitation session for the students of Andhara Bhakta Shreeram Mandiram High School. Volunteers briefed the students on major health, hygienic & sanitation training. Students of 7th and 9th standard were guided regarding various career paths. Volunteers distributed linen to the Principal for usage of furniture and table covers. Food packets and chocolates were distributed among children. Students were very enthusiastic throughout all the activities.

To help children suffering from thalassemia minor/major, an event was organized at Ginger Corporate Office with the help of an NGO who provides donated blood to children suffering from thalassemia disorder.

Volunteers of Ginger Hotels, Mysore organized a plantation drive. A total of 35 members participated in the activity. The volunteers planted saplings around the hotel campus premises.
  Distribution of compost samples at Hariharpur JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
Volunteers from JUSCO, Jamshedpur spread awareness among the residents of Hariharpur where they enlightened them about compost, fertilizers and agriculture related tools. They demonstrated with samples on their usage, benefits and drawbacks which would help them yield a better cultivation. Moreover, the team distributed samples of seeds and composts to all the residents who were a part of this awareness campaign.

  General safety awareness campaign JUSCO   |  Jamshedpur
Volunteers organized an awareness campaign to propagate the message of safety to the students of Sardar Madhao Singh Girls High School.’ Prevention is better than cure’ was the theme of this campaign. The team spoke about general safety measures, home safety which included LPG Safety and other measures. Moreover, an activity was conducted at the end related to safety.

A group of volunteers from Ginger, Vapi undertook a cleanliness drive to support ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ A total of nine volunteers cleaned the vicinity area of Hyundai Motors and also instructed people to create awareness of keeping the environment clean and using dustbins to dispose garbage.

Team members of Ginger Hotels, Vizag provided lunch for children at PAPA (Public & Police Association for street children). The session started with prayers & all the children thanked the volunteers for providing lunch. Volunteers also had the opportunity to personally serve all the children. The children shared life experiences with the volunteers. Volunteers also distributed pens to all the children.

21 associates from The Gateway Hotel, Marine drive Erankulam volunteered to clean the Marine Drive pathway adjacent to the hotel. All plastic wastes, all the wastes dumped by the street vendors were cleared by the team. Additionally they also beautified the place by caring for the shrubs and ornamental plants.
  Celebration of Holi with the Special Children of ‘Jeevika’ JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
Volunteers plunged to celebrate the colorful festival of Holi with the differently abled children of the institution ‘Jeevika.’ The team spent quality time with children suffering from mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism. They presented music and dance show for the team and felicitated them with lots of love and warmth. Thereafter, volunteers played Holi with them using dry colors and distributed sweets and snacks to all the children which brought immense happiness on their faces.

28 volunteers from The Gateway Hotel in Calicut organized a cleanliness drive at a local garden. The participating volunteers felt such engagements help them realize the importance of the municipal cleanliness workers and makes them more conscious of their own habits.
  Health & Hygiene Awareness Campaign JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
Female volunteers joined hands and made a visit to the girl students of Sardar Madhao Singh Girls High School to spread awareness on general health and hygiene, sanitation, puberty, adolescence and related topics. The team also enlightened the teenagers on how they can take care of their personal hygiene. They also distributed iron supplements and sanitary napkins for their personal care. The campaign ended with a strong message on how girls should be aware of their personal health.
  Fire Safety Rallis India  |  Akola
Rallis Akola volunteers organised a session on Fire Equipment Handling. The Safety Manager educated the workers on handling of fire equipment to have first-hand control on the fire incidents. Total 12 volunteers participated in the activity and around 80 workers benefited by the session.
  Rabies Prevention Campaign JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
Volunteers from JUSCO conducted an awareness programme on Rabies Prevention at MS- Adityapur-2 School, Gamharia for the students and teachers to educate those regarding vaccinations, prevention of diseases, and general health and hygiene awareness. This programme was also followed by an interactive team building session.

On the occasion of 46th National Safety Day/Week Celebration, a training programme was arranged for the contract workers on the importance of wearing personal protective equipment at work place. The Volunteers and Safety Team participated in the training programme and explained to the workers about all Personal Protective equipment, its usage and importance of wearing PPEs at workplace. A safety gallery exhibited all types of personal protective equipment.

Volunteers visited Z P School Bhingar wherein students are unaware of health & hygiene habits. Volunteers enacted a street play & puppet show covering topics like avoiding water saturation which creates dengue & malaria mosquitoes, care of personal hygiene, developing good habits of cleanliness, importance of tree plantation.
  Building a home Tata Capital   |  Dahanu
21 volunteers from Tata Capital and Air Vistara participated in a volunteering activity conducted as a part of the Tata Capital’s Affordable Housing CSR project of part funding houses for 40 tribal families with Habitat for Humanity India. Upon reaching Bendgaon in Dahanu, the volunteers were divided into two teams and worked closely with the masons and home owners to help build two houses. The teams were engaged in mixing the mud mixture used as an alternative to cement, passing bricks and the mud mixture and lined the bricks till the window level. Although the activity was physically tiring, the experience of building a home for another family left the volunteers gratified.

International Women’s Day was celebrated by Tata Chemicals, Mithapur. 1,300 rural women from Self Help Groups from villages around Mithapur participated. The program was supported by 57 employees and their family members.

Tata Coffee ICD-Toopran volunteers have organized a de-addiction awareness camp in community villages (Konaipally & Toopran). This awareness program using folk and street play with the themes were on effects of alcoholism, tobacco-chewing and smoking in the personal lives.

  Career counselling program Tata Consulting Engineers  |  Bangalore
TCE arranged career counseling program for Community college students. Students were brought to the office to give them feel of corporate offices. Motivational videos were shown, activities were conducted and floor walk was also arranged. Senior leaders volunteered their time, gave talk on “failure is the steps for success”, career in sports, animation and other topics.
  Cleanliness drive Tata Consultancy Services  |  Bangalore
TCS volunteers across buildings was all geared up to get their hands in for TCS Maitree Swachh Bharat Clean-up drive. The drive started at different assembly points across 9 buildings and the associates covered the areas around the office campus. As a part of the drive they gathered inorganic waste, picked up all the plastic materials and disposed the garbage ensuring a clean locality. Later, after the Clean-up, the volunteers went up to the shopkeepers and corn sellers in and around the area. A message to put up trash bins around their stalls and to encourage customers to keep their surroundings clean was conveyed. Overall, the activity also underlined the message that we need to not only talk about issues and complain about them but also take an active initiative. With more than 50 wholesome bags of garbage, the teams did an excellent job at the clean-up in 3 hours.

  Holi Celebration with Special Children Trent  |  Mumbai
A group of employee volunteers from corporate as well as from our stores, visited the special school - Society for the Education of the Crippled (SEC) - Day School to celebrate Holi, and interact with them. Employees distributed gifts and snacks to children. Some of the volunteers entertained them by singing, dancing and playing with them. It was really a joyous experience for all the employee volunteers.

Employees from Teams CCE and ERC visited 'Antyodaya Bhavan', being run by the CSR function of Tata Motors. The Centre also has a temporary hospitalization facility for medical treatment to residents of Ashrams supported by Tata Motors due to wounds and ulcers developed due to loss of sensation. They interacted with all the residents and served fruits and sweets. Some residents sang devotional songs which they love to sing.

Employee Volunteers from Team HR & PS along with Apprentices led by the Head-HR & PS went and supported the Old Age Home (Antyodaya Bhavan) run by CSR, Tata Motors. They personally met all the 45 residents, both males and females, who are persons cured of leprosy. The Team made generous contributions that would help meet the Centre's requirements like ration, washing materials and others.

HR Department of Tata Power-DDL celebrated International Women’s Day at Tata Power-DDL Learning Centre. The event witnessed the participation of 200 women employees. Various fun filled games, activities and health awareness sessions were organized for the participants and winners were awarded. Tata Power - DDL celebrated International Women’s Day with its business associate women employees working on various CSR projects. International Women’s Day was celebrated amongst 350 Women Literacy Centres, across North & North-West Delhi. A rally was organized by the Business Associate women, from Women Literacy Centres at their respective locations to celebrate the happiness and spread the message of love.

Tata Power-DDL inaugurated its 17th Vocational Training cum Tutorial Center at Lal Bagh, Model Town, New Delhi. The center was inaugurated by the CEO & MD-Tata Power-DDL. This center is in association with NGO-Society for Advancement of Village Economy (SAVE) and shall cater to 420 beneficiaries annually through Computer Training, Beautician and Tutorial classes. The inauguration program was facilitated by 26 TPDDL employees including the senior management team. Women Literacy Program beneficiaries along with other NGO partners were also present during the ceremony.
  Drug De-Addiction Camp Tata Power Delhi Distribution  |  Delhi
Tata Power - DDL, in association with Prajapita Brahm Kumari’s organized drug de-addiction camp for the needy ones at Haiderpur JJ cluster in North Delhi. Organizing team with help from employee volunteers made home visits to the residents of the clusters motivating them to attend the camp and avail benefits from it. The team of 19 volunteers also counselled the attendants of the camp and free homeopathic medicines were distributed to them.

Tata Power-DDL, in association with The Times of India, is organizing a series of consumer engagement activity entitled– Bachpan Gully. One of such event was organized in Shalimar Bagh. Bachpan Gully is a campaign for parents to introduce the experiences of their childhood days to their children by reliving old street sports & games. The event saw an overwhelming response of more than 1000 individuals. Social Innovation Group placed a stall as well, where the consumers were informed about the various initiatives for community. An on-stage quiz competition was also organized followed by prize distribution to the winners. The event witnessed the participation of 36 volunteers.

  Plant visit for students TML Drivelines  |  Jamshedpur
A plant visit was administrated by the employees of TML DRIVELINES, Jamshedpur. Forty five students from Vivek Vidyalaya and UFHE NGO participated in the same. An enthusiastic group of students instigated the volunteers to share their first-hand experience with an innovative and fresh outlook. Senior leaders participated too. The plant visit concluded with touching upon the major assembly lines of the industrial campus. This provided an opportunity to observe how work actually gets done; as even the most lucid description of how work flows are managed around a shop or how operators use charts and diagrams to solve the problems, is no substitute for seeing things in practice.

The CSR team of TML Drivelines visited UFHE, Birsanagar. United Forum for Health and Environment, is an NGO working for the betterment of under privileged students. More than 20 volunteers participated in the activity. THE UFHE children, thoroughly enjoyed the quiz competition organized by volunteers, which not only tested their knowledge but also enhanced them. The event concluded by the distribution of School bags and water bottles to the children by the senior leaders.

The CSR team of TML drivelines visited “Sankalp” an NGO run by the students of NIT Jamshedpur to provide education to the underprivileged children. The event witnessed the participation of around 100 students who interacted in batches with the volunteers of TML Drivelines. To encourage the layering of richly imaginative ideas, the event also saw the organization of a drawing competition for the students of Sankalp in three categories i.e. Class I to III, Class IV to V and class VI to VIII.
