  Celebrating Founders day Tata International  |  South Africa
 
MMRSA celebrated Founder‘s Day for the first time since its inception in 2011. The founder’s statue was unveiled at Andrieamena camp by the General Manager, all the staff members and field team participated along with few of their family members. After the inaugural speech, lunch was served to all staff members on this occasion. MMRSA also plans to visit nearest kroama hospital to distribute fruits & medicine to the patients.
 
  'Best out of Waste' session for children Tata Consultancy Services  |  Delhi
 
Noida-2 CSR team visited one of the branches of Vidya and Child NGO at Noida Sector-128, where NGO students along with TCS volunteers learnt the art and paper craft and made useful things out of waste materials. Students and volunteers helped each other in making various craft pieces by using paper, clay and other decoration materials. Event was also filled with Kaushalendra Singh's impromptu singing performance for the school students that was truly enjoyed by one and all.

Associates from TajSATS Air Catering Ltd, Mumbai along with their senior colleagues visited Vatsalya Trust at Kanjurmarg East - Mumbai. Associates from TSACL- Mumbai, decorated the entire room with balloons and fancy colour ribbons creating an environment of fun and celebration. The event started with the Welfare Officer addressing the students and sharing information about our founder Mr. Jamsetji Tata. Later the kids were enthralled and mesmerized by the magic show performed by our associate from the security department. As the mood turned festive kids from the Vatsalya trust displayed their talent with their singing and dancing skills. The day ended with cake cutting and distribution of specially prepared delicious lip smacking snacks by the team of very talented chefs from TSACL- Mumbai.
 
  Celebrating World Water Day Coastal Gujarat Power  |  Mundra
 
Volunteers from CGPL organized ‘World Water Day’ for the residents of CGPL “Aashiyana" township. The team of the volunteers interacted and visited each house and enlightened them on the importance of water and its prudent usage for our daily lives and how one should take proper measures to save water and also can disseminate the information to others on various measures to control unnecessary usage of water. During the day, the volunteers interacted with the children and enlightened them on how water is important in our daily lives through a briefing session. Moreover, the team also distributed leaflets which was on present scenario of water availability in the world and how one can contribute to save the water.
 
  Cleanliness drive JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
 
The company sponsored the cleaning at Jamshedpur High School and Sardar Madhav Singh School. Five contract labourers of the company were engaged for this purpose, they cleaned the school campus and dug holes for plantation in and around the campus. It took them two days to complete the work. The principal was pleased to see a better and cleaner campus.

A group of volunteer from Intelligence Department, Jamshedpur visited Leprosy Ashram Parvati Ghat, where they spent time with the residents. The volunteers let the residents share their experiences and interacted with them and also offered them fruits which was freshly laundered.

7 volunteers from TCS covered English for 6th std and Maths for 5th std. The session on English covered W questions. The volunteers taught children the use of Which, Where, When, What, Who. The maths session was directed towards doubt clearing and solutions to tricky sums as the children wanted to be better prepared before the exam.
 
  Awareness Drive on World Water Day JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers joined hands to celebrate the ‘World Water Day’, wherein the MD of JUSCO flagged off the awareness drive from Jubilee Park at 6 a.m and took a pledge to “Save Water”. Teams comprising members from the water division went around to different locations in town and organised an awareness drive and presented Nukkad Natak on ‘Save Water’. The objective of this initiative is to make people aware of the importance of water and how we are responsible human beings can conserve it for future generations.

Ginger Hotel Bhubaneshwar donated bedsheets & towels for 40 children in Prativa Anath Ashram. The volunteers had served them food last week came to know from one of the child that they do not have good bedsheets to sleep and towels for bath. The hotel had few old bedsheets but in good condition, which was cleaned from the laundry and gave them to the children.

A green initiative was taken by volunteers of JUSCO at Jamshedpur High School on the occasion of ‘World Forest Day’. MD, JUSCO with his team and the students planted 40 seasonal fruit and medicinal trees in and around the school campus. MD enlightened the students on importance of planting trees and also motivated them to study hard to achieve their goals in life.

A team of Medical Services enthusiastic visited a Primary School Sanjeevni at Birsa Bustee.Team of volunteers participated in cleaning drive at the school campus and spread the message on cleanliness to the school children and their parents. Post this sweet were distributed to the children.

Volunteers conducted an Educational Awareness programme at on ‘Science & Technology’. Volunteers enlightened students on how science is important in our daily lives. A student from XLRI was invited to demonstrate projects to children on robotics and to teach them create small robots for their academic purposes and studies.

Volunteers from JUSCO organized a cleaning campaign at Dev Nagar, Kashidih which started off with a talk with residents, informing them about general health and hygiene; preventive measures taken to curb diseases like malaria, dengue, etc. Thereafter, they started with the cleaning mission along with the residents there to make it a cleaner place.

Around 20 volunteers assembled early morning and began clearing the area littered with fallen leaves and shrubbery. The pathways were swept properly and weeds removed. Trimming of hedges and small portions of lawn area was mowed thus giving it a trim look. A few visitors to the tomb enquired about the activity and were visibly happy and appreciated the efforts of the volunteers.

With the aim to highlight the importance of rivers and strive to increase public awareness while encouraging improved stewardship of rivers in Joda township, Tata Steel today organised a programme under Tata Engage campaign to promote cleanliness of Sona river. The activity was organised to promote awareness among maximum number of people of Joda. The main objective of the programme was to sensitise local people about the importance of clean rivers so as to minimise water borne diseases and educate about aquatic life with increased responsibility towards cleanliness of the area where they work, bathe or do farming.

Under the tree plantation drive by the employees of Intelligence Department Tata Steel, tree plantation was organised in R.D.Bhatta Community Centre wherein the employees, and the community people too actively participated and planted saplings.

Volunteers for Delhi Sales Office visited a local orphanage, Bal Sahyog, and donated clothes and footwear. Hygiene pouches containing a tooth brush, a tooth paste, a soap and shampoo pouches were distributed after a session on hygiene. An hour was spent with the kids conducting activities such as quiz, dance, etc.

On the eve of World Water Day, over 30 Tata BSS volunteers conducted a walkathon to raise awareness on water conservation to the public on the streets. The volunteers carried placards and posters on the importance of saving water and measures that could be used to prevent wastage of water in our day lives.

The team visited a school in a slum area and advocated the need of hygiene in order to prevent the spread of contagious diseases. An awareness program was lodged to bring about awareness on environmental and hygiene level. The main motto of the session was to provide children with the knowledge of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. The teammates including the senior management staff spoke to all the students on cleanliness standards. A skit was performed by the staff in order to provide a clear view to the children regarding the present scenario of our environment and the measures that should be taken in order to prevent more harm to the environment. Few educational and fun games were also played during the session, children were encouraged to recite poems, dance and share their knowledge regarding hygiene safety.

Employee Volunteers from Security & Fire Services went to the Primary Government School at Luadih village and gave an orientation training on fire safety and fighting. They explained to the Teachers, Angawadi Sevika and Children the 4 types of fire and gave a hands on practical demonstration training to them on how to fight fire through fire extinguishers and by making use of sand, water and twigs with leaves to combat fire at homes and forests

The volunteers conducted a cleanliness drive near Sir Dorabji Tata Park where they were joined by passers-by and a parabadminton bronze medalist. Those who did not join were found instructing the vendors for keeping dustbins so that this issue can be nipped in the bud. The volunteers were very happy to have a first-hand experience of the domino effect that they were creating.

A group of volunteers from Taj Banjara, Hyderabad have taken the initiative to educate the students on various subject matters which will further help them to pursue a better career. As the students are about to complete their courses and are ready to apply for various positions, Colleagues from HR department of Taj Banjara, Hyderabad enlightened them on the topics like job seeking and interview skills. They explained about various mediums through which the students can find job vacancies, how to apply for a given vacancy, tips for writing a resume and how to face an interview. The activity was a class room session including power point presentation and followed by question and answer session.
