It also helps these students in continuing their normal schooling life and bring back the smiles in these innocent faces. Ginger RYN distributed basic items like crayons, sketch colours, drawing books, note books, pen, pencil, candies etc. community also has expressed their sincere gratitude to the Ginger Rail Yatri Niwas.

The CGPL Volunteers created an awareness drive on the menace of usage of plastic and its effects if it is not disposed properly. The volunteers had already planned to celebrate the entire TVW-7 on this issue to create an mass awareness program so even after the end of the volunteering week, the practice shall be continued and practiced by the community. On the day, the volunteers visited each of the household in village Nanikhakar along with the shops and educated about the health related hazards emanated due to plastic. They were also educated about the personal hygiene and sanitation. Various “Plastic Hazards " related issues were also discussed with the community and briefed in the schools. During the day, several posters, leaflets were used and distributed among the community. The entire initiative was about moving towards a cleaner & greener environment around.

The volunteers visited the Sheroes Hangout. The legendary Sheroes Hangout is an initiative by Stop Acid Attacks campaign that was founded in New Delhi in 2013. The cafe run by these indomitable acid attack survivors has inspired the whole country and the Team in honor of Women's Day decided to give the fabulous women a Guest Service session based on their keen interest. Team F&B team led by a senior colleague taught the eager women the basics of guest service, i.e. how to greet the guest, seat the guest & serve the guest. The women found the session very interesting and inspiring and warmly thanked the volunteers for conducting this session.

A team of volunteers from Tata Steel Gomardih organised a health awareness camp for children at Gomardih. The Gomardih health team conducted a BMI assessment camp and measured their height and weight. This camp also included an awareness campaign where the volunteers enlightened the students about balance diet, workout & exercise, sport activity, health, hygiene and sanitation.

Celebrating World Sparrow Day

World Sparrow Day was celebrated at Mithapur on 20th March 2017. TCL employee volunteers and family members volunteered for making sparrow nest boxes during the day and later in the evening these volunteers went around in the township for distribution of the same. The purpose was to create awareness on the declining sparrow population and encourage Mithapurians for participation in conservation action by fixing sparrow nest boxes on their premises. A total of 200 nest boxes were distributed during the day in residential colonies and the target is to complete distribution of another 800 by the end of the week.

Steadily depleting biodiversity base is a global issue and there is an urgent need to create awareness on biodiversity conservation at all levels in the society. Corporates can play an important role and Tata Chemicals has been working in this direction through its "Dharti Ko Aarpan (Giving Back to Mother Nature)" Program.
Mithapur is blessed with a rich biodiversity including the diverse marinelife, birds, reptiles, the flora and other wildlife. A Biodiversity Fair was organised at Mithapur with participation by 115 employee volunteers and family members to create awareness on the biodiversity of Mithapur, the emerging challenges and what needs to be done to protect the same. Volunteers undertook field studies and presented their findings in form of exhibits - charts, models and powerpoint presentation at the Biodiversity Fair. The Fair drew a large number of visitors from Mithapur and the surrounding villages.

The volunteers conducted an awareness session with the help of the in-house doctor, to promote the usage of sanitation facilities, educating the students to adopt proper personal hygiene at Karbhana Village School. This session was organized with an objective to create awareness among students on the benefits of using hygienic sanitation facilities for maintaining a healthy and dignified life. The doctor also imparted information on personal hygiene like brushing teeth twice a day, wearing clean clothes, use washrooms, washing hands before having meals and so on.

They prepared 25 numbers questions and all are related to district level, state level and national level matters. 51 students participated in the Quiz competition. At the end of the session prizes were distributed to the winners.
