program for students with visual disabilities at Blind Relief Association. The students
thoroughly enjoyed the program and the volunteers were greeted with loud cheers
and applaud. Few students also came forward and sang melodious songs. It was an
amazing experience for the volunteers and the students.

of Ghanekunt Village, Lote. There were 54 ladies and 15 children were present in
the programme. The volunteers arranged a few games for the groups with an aim to

their self confidence level, improve team work and leadership qualities.

The team of 10 volunteers from Ginger Pantnagar conducted a cleanliness drive at
the Sanjay Van (Forest Area) a famous picnic point in Rudrapur. Volunteers ranging
across departments joined hands in their cleaning gears. The group divided themselves
and picked up areas for clearing out the garbage on the roads and lawns. Post the
drive, the volunteers gathered at Ginger Pantnagar for some refreshments while carrying
back memories of the day.

The CEO and MD - Tata Motors along with his wife and ExCom Members visited the newly
created Employee Volunteering Centre. ‘TML Lab to Land Programme’ , an Employee
Volunteering initiative is being coordinated through the Centre. The concept, process
and way forward for creating livelihood opportunities for progressive farmers, particularly
ladies, from seven identified tribal villages through transfer of expertise on Horticulture
& Allied practices like bee- keeping, fishery, mushroom farming, apiculture etc.
was explained. All of them endorsed on the Pledge Board of ‘Count Me In’ for inspiring
employees, their family members and retired employees to volunteer for CSR as part
of the ongoing 6th edition of Tata Volunteering Week. They interacted with beneficiaries
of the programme and handed over bee-boxes and mushroom spawns to the tribal lady
farmers who were present.
They also visited Asha Kiran School, a school dedicated for special children, supported
by Tata Motors and managed by All India Women’s Conference, an organization managed
by the wives of senior officers of Tata Motors. The newly constructed Physiotherapy
Centre at the school was inaugurated by them during the visit. They spent time with
the children at the school, played with them and came to know about the various
measures in the line of their life skill education and rehabilitation. They also
planted saplings at Vidyabharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Asha Kiran School and Antyodaya
Bhavan.

Tata Motors – MD & CEO’s wife Mrs. Butschek witnessed the wide spectrum of CSR activities
of Jamshedpur Plant ranging from education to creating employability and self-sustainability
to treating children with malnutrition and patients affected with leprosy. She visited
Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya, a Tata Motors aided school, wherein she appreciated
the pursuit of the journey of the Tata Educational Excellence Programme (TEEP) embarked
upon by the school for not only scholastic development of the students but their
overall development through various initiatives for quality education. Then she
visited the Antyodaya Bhavan, an Old Age Home supported by Tata Motors CSR wherein
patients cured of leprosy and unfortunately ostracized or abandoned by their families
are taken care of. She interacted with the inmates and distributed fruits among
them.
Parivar Kalyan Sansthan (PKS) was another CSR venue visited by her. She interacted
with the mothers of the severely acute malnourished (SAM) children undergoing treatment
at the Malnutrition Treatment Centre (MTC). While interacting with the mothers there,
she stressed on the importance of breastfeeding and maintenance of hygiene to avoid
malnutrition related problems. She also visited the tribal inhabited villages of
Rajdoha and Khursi where she distributed ‘Akansha’ scholarships to tribal students.
At Khursi, she witnessed sanitation and drinking water projects in the form of RO
Water Plant, household toilets and running water facility. Then she visited Mahila
Sharan, an organization also managed by AIWC for providing livelihood support to
destitute women.

Examinations. The support extended by the volunteers was humbly acknowledged, appreciated
and reciprocated by the children and their life coaching Swami Jis.

Cheshire Home, catering to special female residents, and made worthy contributions
for improving their quality of life. The Home run by Daughters of Charities, Patron

donation and time devoted by citizens of Jamshedpur who look after the residents
with care and humility that would touch any human being having a heart and sensitivity
for those who are less privileged than them.

The team of volunteers along with their family members organised a Health Check-Up
& Blood Donation Camp in consultation with the AIMS Hospital – Aundh – Pune. “Stress
Management”, “Health awareness & prevention action” session were also held through
reputed doctors from Pune. Health check-up covered - General OPD (Pulse, BP, BSL,
BMI), Dental check-up, PFT, ECG, Cancer Screening (for women) & Bone density test.
In all 177 persons were covered for health check-up and 65 Bottles of blood was
collected through this camp.

Team consisting of 15 Volunteers from IPR & Environment Dept. in association with
SNEH Foundation visited the Kalakhadak Vasti slum area near Bhumkar Chowk, Wakad.
The team interacted with the children there. They also distributed snacks and books
to the children. The team also paid the six month’s rent for the learning facility
available for the children in the area.

Team Pantnagar marked the day 2nd October as Swachchta Diwas Abhiyaan Day, where
volunteers across the function area from the plant along with school students, villagers
and gram panchayat team carried out extensive cleanliness drive in the three selected
zone of the village Shantipuri. The Pradhan and Block Development Committee representative
along with school management and villagers welcome the team and appreciated for
the commitment towards social drives. The 100 volunteers across the shop (TCF, BIW,
Power Train, Paint shop, Offices) carried out three hours’ drive in the area. The
media too appreciated the effort by highlighting the same in the newspaper.

In relation to the ongoing Tata Volunteering Week, Team Taj Krishna, Hyderabad extended
its support to the local NGO Family Eduvision. Family Eduvision is an NGO, with
10 institutes across the city which sponsor number of projects helping the local
small orphanages and other local communities which lack basic facilities and amenities
to support themselves. Hence, Family Eduvision seeks sponsorships to support such
projects also they reach out the MNC’s, organization etc. Team Taj Krishna to support
this noble endeavour driven by this NGO, has extended its support by donating lost
& found items. NGO representatives were deeply touched and expressed their gratitude.

Tata Motors Pantnagar Plant Union group having representation of President, Secretary
and core signatories members participated in the volunteering drive at Government
Girls Inter College,Fazalpur Mahrulla, Rudrapur. The team interacted with scholarship
students, students participating in block level science competition and helped them
through mentoring, guidance and recognition through quiz context and counselling
to girls for their better education. The quiz was based on the subject like chemistry,
physics, maths, environment and the state affairs. The team also had in depth meeting
with teachers and school management committee to understand the scope of improvement
and support, if required. The team from the offices had meeting with coaching students
being supported by Tata Motors at one of the village schools. The students had wonderful
session with mentor and shared their experiences in the coaching.

A team of 13 volunteers from TSPDL went to Calcutta Rescue, an NGO which works for
socially and economically disadvantaged people of the region – regardless of gender,

& educational talk for the children which also included educational games. The day
long program was concluded by distributing goodies to the children.

TCL employees and family members spent time with families in a slum and interacted
with the children who were gifted biscuits and other food packets. 2nd October also
marks the beginning of the Wildlife Week in India. A Nature Quiz was organised for
students later in the day and a program for collection of plastics and other trash
from Biodiversity Park and surrounding areas was organised. These wilderness areas
provide habitat for more than 70 species of birds and 11 species of wild animals.
Plantation of Piloo (Salvadora persica), a much preferred tree species by birds
was organised. Apart from TCL employee volunteers, family members and students,
a team from the INS Dwarka Naval Base of Indian Navy also participated in the program.

8 volunteers from Meter Management Group – HT LTCT organized energy conservation
session at SKR Senior Secondary School, Inderpuri. Approximately 600 students were
sensitized during the full day event where volunteers took one to one classroom
session and passed on tips for energy conservation & electrical safety. 4 volunteers
sensitized nearly 400 students of Govt. Boys Sr. Sec. school, Mubarakpur Dabas.
Students were sensitized about various means of saving electricity and how one can
safely handle electricity usage at household level. 2 volunteers organized awareness
session on public safety , energy conservation and climate change for the students
of Mother Khajani School, Bawana. Along with the deliberation a public safety movie
was also screened for nearly 200 students. Energy conservation session was organized
for vocational training beneficiaries of Mangolpuri vocational training center.
Beneficiaries were first sensitized on various tips of Energy Conservation and then
were given booklets. After that there was a small team Poster making activity and
the teams who made the best innovative posters were awarded.

awards for the slum dwellers of Chuna Bhatti, J J Cluster, Motinagar. The intent
of the program was to enlighten and encourage slum residents to adopt safe practices
for handling electricity and to utilize energy in best possible manner. 3 teams
comprising of 22 volunteers visited around 60 prenominated households for Energy
Conservation & Safety norms which comprised of criteria like proper installation
of MCB, safe wiring, usage of LEDs etc.. Top 3 entries were awarded on basis of
scores assigned by the teams.

On September 16, 2016 twelve TGB employees from, Montvale NJ donated their time
at the Vacation Camp for the blind in Spring Valley, NY. Thanks to Visions Services
for the Blind, a nonprofit rehabilitation and social service organization whose
mission is to promote independence through rehabilitation and recreation, this camp
provides comprehensive programs for all ages. The TGB group spent the day helping
to prepare the camp for the next group of visitors by cleaning and organizing its
facilities. It was a day well spent and all were glad to help such an amazing organization.

Plantation drive

Several members from the Ginger Bhubaneshwar Hotel team and the Project Team travelled
125 kilometers and visited the upcoming hotel construction site at Kalinga Nagar.
The Civil Contractor M/S Aakash Associates and Ginger Project Team teamed up to
plant several Fruit Trees around the construction site area and prepared proper
wire mesh fencing to protect those fruit trees. One member from the project team
will take care of the up keeping of these trees. Later all the 60 plus volunteers
also cleaned up the main road where the hotel site is located.

A Dental Check up program for 106 students of Std 1 & 2 of Khalsa Middle School
was organized. A Dental Surgeon from Tinplate Hospital examined all students. Dental
health conditions of 106 students were captured which would subsequently be sent
to their parents to seek medical attention of those children having severe dental
problem. Medical team from Tinplate Hospital along with Volunteers from TCIL participated
in the program by providing support service and explaining students about good dental
health practices & oral hygiene. A set of Dental Kit was provided to each student.

During the joy of Giving week 35 Tata BSS volunteers visited Nava Jeevana Rehabilitation
Centre for disabled over the weekend and organized a ‘birthday bash’ with all the
kids who resided there. The volunteers also distributed cake & chocolates & other
edibles with the kids. Both the team & kids had a great time together. Moreover
the volunteers had also organized several games and played along with the kids,
it was a memorable day for everyone.

Rallis Volunteers organized Science Quiz Competition for the 5th to 6th standard
tribal student of Kolkhe village. The focus of this competition was to make understand
basic concepts of Science. Volunteers organized 3 rounds for three teams of students
to get through like, Buzzer round, identifying the object in respect of Science
and solving the puzzle. Volunteers and students have enjoyed the competition. Activity
concluded with rewarding prizes for winner team.
