The Pierre employees assisted the Central Park Conservatory to maintain the Park (across from the hotel). The volunteers weeded flower beds. Earlier in the spring, they had painted park benches.
  Interaction with village residents Tata Sponge Iron  |  Odisha
A group of volunteers visited Naryanpur, a tribal dominated village, situated in Anseikala gram panchayat of Joda block in Odisha. The volunteers motivated the villagers to ensure all the children should enrolled in Anganwadi centres and schools. They encouraged them to ensure not a single child drops out from school. The children should not engaged in labour during this precious period of their life. Similarly, the students were motivated to identify those children are not coming to the schools in their village and take help from the teachers, SMC (School Management Committee) members and Panchayat members to motivate them to join age-appropriate education. Further they were motivated to pursue their education to attain aim of their life, practice health & hygiene and participate in co-curricular activities.

The volunteers conducted a tree plantation drive near New Delhi Metro Station with an aim to contribute to the environment and provide a green coverage in & around.
  Visit to a school Voltas  |  Pantnagar
Team from UCPL & UPBG factory visited a government primary school in Kotha village nearby Rudrapur and distributed school shoes to all children. They also donated utensil set to the school for children’s mid-day meal. The team also interacted with children and spent time with them.
  Visit to an old age home Ginger Hotels  |  Bangalore
Volunteers from Ginger Hotels visited Cheshire Old Age home located at Whitefield. 20 elderly and differently abled women live here as a family. A small briefing on hygiene was discussed with them. Volunteers distributed personnel hygiene kit for all inmates.
  Blood donation drive Tata Elxsi  |  Thiruvananthapuram
48 volunteers donated blood at the Development Centre in Thiruvananthapuram. The camp was organized by Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital. Four volunteers from Tata Elxsi coordinated this day-long drive. The team from the hospital highly appreciated the benevolent spirit of the volunteers. They indicated that the blood donated can save the lives of as many as 144 recipients.

The team from Vivanta by Taj MG Road Bangalore visited Don Bosco Skill Mission, Bannerghatta to conduct a session on Environmental awareness for the students and trainers present in the institute. The session was taken by Executive Housekeeper and she shared some startling facts about the Mother Nature and the harm we have caused to her. The session brought into light different ignored aspects of the environment and what small changes we as responsible citizens can make which will have a big impact in the future. The activity sure engaged the bunch of eager minds but more over it also brought in place a strong sense of awareness which we often tend to lack.

The volunteers from Vivanta by Taj MG Road Bangalore got together in an attempt to mobilize participants for the Tata Strive Training Program which begins soon. From sharing of dreams among participants to sharing of experiences in line with the theme, the participants were engaged and given more information on the offerings. In due course of time, the mobilization movement will be strengthened and participation will increase.

Spreading the message of environment protection, the volunteers from Vivanta by Taj MG Road Bangalore got together with the students and trainers to plant saplings at Don Bosco Skill Mission. The students who are hospitality trainees and the future of hotels get trained in all the facets of the hospitality world. The students are from humble backgrounds and are prepared by the management at DBSM. The team was headed by the executive housekeeper and her gardeners team.
  Counselling of the village students The Tinplate Company of India  |  Jamshedpur
Volunteers from Tinplate Company visited the village remedial class at Lupungdih Village. This remedial class has a strength of 52 children, most of them from underprivileged section of the society and dropouts. These children need coaching, handholding & motivation to pursue their education. Since their parents are illiterate, they do not give much importance to education. The volunteers regularly interact with these children & encourage them to pursue study. This has yielded excellent results. Children now take keen interest in studies and have started going to schools. The volunteers distributed study materials like notebook, pen, pencil, eraser, chalk and biscuit packet to the students.
  Green walkathon Indian Hotels   |  Bangalore
Green Walkathon took steps ahead commencing from Vivanta by Taj MG Road Bangalore to Ulsoor Lake – Ganesha Immersion Tank. The 5 Bangalore Taj hotels mobilized 25-30 volunteers from each unit who with placards and banners took it on the road. The volunteers across hotels and departments come together despite the unrest in the city and distance constraints. Vivanta by Taj MG Road - Leadership team heading the walkathon along with the who’s who from the other hotels created the motivation for our fellow volunteers. The support from the BBMP and police force made it possible for the event to be a successful one.
  Cleanliness drive Indian Hotels  |  Bangalore
The volunteers from 5 Bangalore Taj hotels conducted a cleanliness drive at the Ulsoor Lake Periphery area. Volunteers ranging across departments, age groups and gender come to join hands in their cleaning gears during the early morning hours. The group divided themselves and picked up areas for clearing out the garbage on the roads. The day was both a collaborative and fruitful one with lessons to carry back for all of us. Post the drive, the volunteers gathered at Vivanta by Taj MG Road for some refreshments while carrying back memories of the day.

The volunteers supplied discard linens & pillows to the tribesmen who are living in forest. The hotel utilised their 10th anniversary budget for providing furniture to the tribal school which helped them to be comfortable in the class. The volunteers were glad to meet the children and distribute the sweets.
  Walkathon on World Heart Day Tata Business Support Services  |  Jamshedpur
26 Tata BSS volunteers on the eve of World Heart Day organised a walkathon from Modi Park to Sakchi Golchakar to spread awareness about heart related diseases. The early morning walkathon attracted several joggers and runners, who were interested in knowing more and a few also joined in. The volunteers expressed that spreading awareness and interaction with interested people made their day.

  Beach cleaning drive Tata Business Support Services  |  Chennai
Over 30 Tata BSS volunteers along with their family members cleaned the Marina beach. They organized the event with the help of an organization called ‘say no to crackers’. Moreover, the activity was also broadcasted on Raj Television Channel to inspire others to follow suit and keep the environment clean.

A team from Tata Growth Shop organised a Medical Health camp for the community people at Gamharia. A group of volunteers visited to Tinplate Camp School name “Masti Ki Pathsala” and interacted with the students and distributed notes book and chocolates. A team organised Road Safety Campaign at Tata Steel General Office Main Gate. A team from G Blast Furnace visited to Bal Vikas Sonari Community Centre and organised Joy of Giving. Finance & Accounts visited Nirmal Hriday and distributed daily use items. Aviation department organised Fancy dress competition for the community children. The volunteers interacted with BIRHORE (Primitive Tribe) children and sponsored their education at ST. Roberts Residential School, Hazaribagh.

Volunteers from The Gateway Hotel, Vijayawada organised a general health check-up for Syed Appalaswamy College students & Staff members in collaboration with doctors who checked the blood pressure, height, weight, eye checkup and blood sugar of the people and then they were lead to another area where E.C.G. was taken followed by consultation. Based on the E.C.G. report the cardiology recommended for 2D Echo for the students. A total of 152 students availed benefit from the medical camp.

The Gateway Hotel, Vijayawada organized a blood donation camp in collaboration with Rotary Red Cross Blood Bank to support the noble cause of donating blood to saves one’s life. Posters were put on the notice board and it was encouraging to see a lot of volunteers giving their names for this noble cause. All the HODs motivated their teams by taking the lead for this initiative. It was heartening to note that many of the participants were first-timers! A Thank you note with the names of the donors was later put up on the notice board soon after the completion of the camp.

An awareness programme was conducted by the The Gateway Hotel, Vijayawada in collaboration with Care N Share. The programme was for all the students who have passed 10th Class. The session was taken by the F&B Manager, who briefed them about the operations of the Food & Beverage Service Department. The students took active participation the programme and were grateful to the gateway hotel for organising the session.
  Cleanliness drive and tree plantation Tata Steel Processing & Distribution   |  Kolkata
TSPDL organised a day filled with fun and frolic for the inmates of the SOS Children’s Village, at Salt Lake, Kolkata. The day began with small walk around & introduction of TSDPL volunteers with the villagers. After the introduction and a walk around the volunteers organised a tree plantation programme. In the afternoon gaming activities for the children were conducted which included biscuit race amongst the little angels followed by Memory game, race and musical chair. All the children enjoyed the program & participated with full enthusiasm. Finally the day was concluded by distributing prizes to the winners followed up by distribution of gifts for all children of the village.
  Conducting quiz competition for children Tata Consulting Engineers   |  Noida
15 volunteers from TCE Delhi Delivery Centre visited “The Saviour School” in Noida. The school caters to the learning aspiration of economically challenged kids. The activity started with interaction with students & faculty members followed by a learning session through ‘General Knowledge Quiz’ and ‘Basic Computer Literacy’. To enhance the learning capabilities of students, TCE distributed dictionaries and provided wall-hanging educational charts to the school. Volunteers provided tips to students on basic health and hygiene aspects. The water quality in the area is a concern and hence TCE donated a water purifier to the school to ensure safe drinking water for the students. Volunteers planted (tree) saplings within the school premises. The session ended with distribution of light refreshments for the students.
  Cleanliness drive in the village Tata Motors  |  Lucknow
The volunteers conducted door to door awareness in one village of Barabanki district sensitizing people about the sanitation and cleanliness in order to protect dengue and other diseases. The Volunteers along with the Village Pradhan counselled the villagers and children of the primary school on need of cleanliness and hygiene. They were also involved in the fogging drive aimed at dengue protection conducted in the village.

Tata Metaliks undertook a special dive of planting tree on the road of Tata Metaliks. 47 employees along with V.P (Operations) participated in tree plantation drive with oath to protect the plant for next six months. The villagers participated along with employees of Tata Metaliks.

Volunteers from Voltas Bangalore in association with Dr.Agarwal Hospital, Bangalore conducted a free eye check-up camp at Bangalore. The camp was organized basically for support staff, housekeeping assistants, drivers, maintenance assistants, helpers etc.

Volunteers from Voltas Bangalore visited Tent School at Ramamurthy Nagar, Bangalore which is run jointly by GMR and Govt of Karnataka. They donated educational accessories like notebooks, pencils, pens, charts and story books. They also provided sports items like football, volley ball, cricket bats and other indoor games. The employees spent valuable and quality time with the children.
  Tailoring course for women Rallis India  |  Akola
Rallis India Akola conducted a skill development initiative for the underprivileged women under which 6 tailoring courses were offered to 45 women. The certificate distribution programme was organised by Akola volunteers along with senior colleagues.
  Hygiene workshop Ginger Hotels  |  Jamshedpur
A group of eight volunteers from Ginger Hotel Jamshedpur visited Ram Mandir School, Bistupur and organized a session on Hand Wash, Cleaning & Personal Hygiene for their students. They also distributed a Hygiene Kit among 40 students who participated in the programme. The volunteers conducted a practical session on proper hand washing and personal hygiene and explained the importance of the same in life.
  Career counseling session Ginger Hotels  |  Jamshedpur
Ginger Hotel, Jamshedpur visited Ram Mandir School, Bistupur for a career counseling session with Std 9 & 10 students. The aim was to highlight various career paths available for students after completing their school studies including hospitality industry. They felt that such guidance would help the young generation choose right career as per their interest. In order to make the programme more interesting, HODs from all the departments were present to answer queries.
