8 volunteers from Merchant Bar Mill, Finance, Meltshop and Safety department visited class Amethyst 2P of Fernvale Gardens School. They brought the kids on a mini excursion to the nearby food court to practice numeracy purchasing and dining skills. After a hearty meal, the kids were energised and it was playtime! The volunteers had a tough time chasing them around the students but it sure was an afternoon well spent.

A group of six volunteers from Rallis India Lote Unit visited Z P School, Lotemal and organized a session on Personal Hygiene and Sanitation for their students. A total of 245 students participated in the programme. The volunteers conducted a practical session on personal hygiene and explained the importance of the same.

Rallis Volunteers organized various fun activities & sports activities at Z P School Barvai at Barvai village for 4th to 7th standard students. The volunteers participated in drawing & painting activities with children. Some funny puzzles also were included in the drawing which students enjoyed solving with volunteers. After these activities volunteers and students participated in Kabaddi and Kho kho competitions.

Team Pantnagar exhibited the spirit of volunteering by having active participation of volunteers from the shop and offices across departments. Girls conducted a session in schools near the plant. The volunteers from the TCF (A, B, C &D) participated in the cleanliness drive in the village Anandpur, where more than 108 volunteers carried out massive cleanliness activity in coordination with Gram Panchayat. The 98 volunteers from the shop BIW (A, B, C& D) participated in the slum area malnourished assessment project, where volunteers carried out home visit and assess the health of the malnourished children being supported under CSR. The slum area visit was coordinated by the ICDS and partner organizations. Some of the volunteers also visited the schools to understand the quality of education being imparted in the village and reason for shortfall in the schools.

Three Volunteers from Tata Teleservices’s Delhi office visited Blind Relief Association, Delhi (BRAD) and supported for a cumulative of 11.5 hours in the labelling and segregation of folders and paper bags, candle and diya making. These items will be displayed and sold during BRAD’s upcoming Diwali Bazaar. Diwali Bazaar is a major source of income for BRAD and the artifacts sold are made by individuals with visual impairment. The income generated supports education and provides livelihood to people with visual disabilities.

Volunteers of TCS Maitree conducted a health and nutrition session for the kids Gandhipura (Horizon) School and Garudacharpalya Primary School. The session was kicked off with some videos on healthy individuals and good eating habits followed by detailed session by volunteers on types of food to eat for a healthy body. The team also had prepared a presentation which helped the children to understand nutrition in easy ways. Also, a yoga Camp was arranged as part of the session. Posters were designed by volunteers to depict the details as pictures which would help in easy understanding for the children.

In the past too, TML Drivelines had aided Udaan Viklaang by constructing roof for their workshop. The team donated a catalogue designed for their most selling products to be used in their stalls. Finally in the spirit of unity, the volunteers from TML Drivelines made sandwiches and shared them with everyone in the NGO.

The CSR Team of TSPDL Kolkata Corporate Office visited for Welfare Society for the Blind, Kolkata. WSB gives various vocational trainings to the blind students like computer training, coaching/ guidance for preparation and appearing for various Govt. competitive test exams, music teaching etc. Most of the students are visually impaired and already graduated and preparing for various exams. TSPDL Volunteers team spent quality time by interacting with these visually impaired students. They organized Antakshari, General Knowledge, Audio Quiz programs for them. TSPDL also sponsored and organized for their lunch for that day.

The volunteers conducted a Functional Literacy Program which aims at improving the Basic English skills of the underprivileged women in the age group of 20-30 years. The Finance & Accounts JDC organised an awareness rally campaign on Road Safety at Bistupur main road. During the campaign citizens were requested to follow road safety rules like use crash helmet, seat belt, helmet for pillion rider, rules to be followed at zebra crossing etc. Team members from Finance & Accounts also distributed road safety awareness leaflets to all as a constant reminder of Road Safety and Traffic Rules & Regulations.

The team of Noamundi organized a visit for the students of Mahudi High School, Noamundi to Medicinal Park, Rainwater harvesting park & Industrial area. A total of 32 students (Class 8-10th) along with a school teacher were picked up from Mahudi School in bus and were shown the area. They were made aware of medicinal values of plants, process of rainwater harvesting and solar cell technology being commonly used around Noamundi area. Food packets and drinking water bottles were distributed to all students and teachers.

This will also help in increasing the scope of their engagement level for income generation after the completion of their training program.

As a result of Ganesh celebration, there is a lot of waste accumulation on the roads. The volunteers came together and undertook a cleaning drive for three hours at select points. The employees lifted the trash from the various points and deposited the same in the designated municipal garbage.

Tata BSS volunteers went to a government run school for underprivileged children called CSI primary school in Guindy, Chennai. Over 150 children were given an Herbal medicine called NIlavenbu Kashayam (in tamil) to prevent of Dengue and other flu. The same medicine was given by govt during Chennai flood too and is known to prevent flu & dengue. The volunteers also took a session on dengue awareness and explained its symptoms, precautions & prevention measures.

Tata Elxsi Thiruvananthapuram centre in association with Prathidhwani's (Socio-Cultural Organisation of Technopark Employees) organised a 'Rice Bucket Challenge' in connection with Onam celebration to extend a helping hand to under privileged communities around technopark and the needy non-IT employees in Technopark. The Rice thus collected was handed over to the office-bearers of Prathidhwani, which includes representatives from Tata Elxsi as well. In a short duration of a day, the team collected 150 Kg of rice which was handed over by the volunteers.
