An awareness meeting cum practical demo was conducted under Ghor Bari Program wherein topics like pest and disease management in tea, importance of using bio-fertilizers, how to make compost and vermi-compost and livelihood enhancement by cultivating black pepper were covered. A demo on runner planting of pepper, sleeve pepper saplings planting, citronella cuttings planting, etc was conducted.

Team Dam Dim comprising of the Senior Manager, Senior Medical Officer, Welfare Officers, one Sister and Health Assistant visited a destitute Centre at Salbari in Chalsa area which had an Old Age Home and an Orphanage. A medical check-up of all the inmates was carried out by the Estate SMO and free medicines/tonics were distributed to those who required medication. Free advice was also given for their well-being and healthy life. The team spent three hours talking to the inmates.

Around 40 volunteers from Ginger Bhubaneshwar and 02 young family members joined hands to clean up the prominent Jayadev Vihar Road in Bhubaneshwar. The volunteers cleaned up the Foot Path and Cycling track area and removed several garbage bags full of plastic, paper, cigarette packets, plastic cups, food containers, broken bottles etc. The Maintenance Team volunteers removed all the signage boards and got those boards repainted. They also painted the BMC trees and pathway barriers to beautify the road.

Taj Group of Hotels of Hyderabad organized Hand Hygiene awareness camp for Hyderabad Council of Human Welfare (HCHW) for street children. The volunteers briefed them about the importance Hand Hygiene. After the informative session the students were shown educative yet witty videos on the process of washing one’s hand every day. Taj Hotels also donated basic hygiene equipment such as dustbins, hand wash liquid, harpic, cleaning brush and LED lights.

The team also organized a medical camp for the girl students of the school which included general check-up and also counseling them about heath, hygiene and sanitation.

Rallis India Volunteers organized a visit to the Bethany School at Kolkhe village near Panvel. A total of 16 volunteers participated in the activity with 35 tribal students. Volunteers distributed readymade drawing sheets for painting. In that drawing sheets various puzzles were incorporated and students were expected to solve the puzzles first and then paint the picture. Volunteers helped them to solve the puzzles & guided them to paint the pictures.

A team of volunteers from TSPDL visited St. John School on 19th of September, 2016. The program began with organising several indoor & outdoor games for the students. All the students participated in the games with full enthusiasm. After the games, a quiz competition was conducted for the students in which questions were asked from various fields like science, history, geography, current affairs etc. A knowledge sharing session was also organised by the volunteers where in the volunteers shared the knowledge related to precaution & prevention required to be taken from Malaria, Chicken Guinea and Dengue.

The COO also participated in the program. The team visited Gundyal village, Mahaboobnagar Dist. and conducted door to door survey and took feedback from the villagers by interacting with the community with the help of flip charts and leaflets.

The CSR Council in association with MSRLM- Palghar (Maharashtra State Rural Livelihood Mission) team had interaction with tribal female groups of underprivileged villages- Khaniwade & Gargaon. They shared the Govt. programmes available for the underprivileged group including the self-help group development. After meetings and discussions, the team observed some tribal women are coming forward and get into this self-help group formation and start the activities of income generation. The CSR team and MSRLM- Palghar, Umed officer site visited at various padas of Khaniwade and Gargaon. Discussions were also held with members of four SHGs and their Village Level Federations. Their books of accounts, meetings registers and saving & various other records were observed Umed and CSR team.

The CSR team lead by senior leaders took 35 children from United Forum for Health & Environment (UFHE- an NGO focused on improving the lives of under privileged children) out for a day trip to the Tata Zoological Park. The children were amused and thrilled to see the diversified wildlife. They all really enjoyed the tour whilst also learning about the wide array of animal habitat and their behavior.
