  Road Safety Awareness Drive Tata Technologies   |  Pune
 
On the occasion of TVW5, Tata Technologies Volunteers had Traffic Safety Awareness Drive at Hinjewadi roads. Every day more than 1 Lakh employees use their vehicle to travel ot office. The objective of this drive was to create more awareness towards the importance of traffic safety. Tata Technologies volunteers prepared sign boards with different messages and slogans and stood up at the main signal area of Hinjewadi IT park junction to create awareness. This 60 minute initiative created a huge impact on IT Park employees and local village community.

Tata Motors arranged a beautiful volunteering activity at Campion School, where the volunteers and students painted the school walls in vivid colors to convey important messages of public good. The entire wall was painted over 2 days with an effort of over 6 hours. The result was great as the walls looked wonderful while at the same time were imprinted with meaningful messages for everyone.
 
  On field training Ginger Hotels  |  Bhubaneshwar
 
Ginger Hotel Bhubaneshwar team invited around 15 under privileged students studying at SkillPro Training Centre under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) Central Government scheme. These students were welcomed with cold refreshments and Hotel Manager briefed the students on the hotel operations and the Smart Basics offered at Ginger brand. The students were then given Napkin Folding Training by the F&B Team, Bed Making Training by the HSKP Team, Front Office operation explained by our GSA Team and Hotel Safety and Fire Fighting Training given by our Security and Maintenance Team. The Students thoroughly enjoyed the 02 hour session and thanked the management for this skill training session.
 
  Visit to a school Tata Consulting Engineers  |  Jamshedpur
 
The volunteers visited an under-privilege school in Jamshedpur to help the school with a small library. Various types of Books such as Essay Books, Reference Books, Story Books, Basic English Books, Course Related Books, etc. were donated at the school in Jamshedpur. The students were very happy and excited to receive them.
 
  Blood donation camp Tata Consulting Engineers  |  Delhi
 
As a part of TATA Volunteering Week 5, TCE Delhi –NCR has organized a ‘Blood Donation Camp’ in Green Boulevard Campus, Noida in collaboration with Red Cross Society on 04/03/2016. It was 5 hour activity in which around 7 volunteers from TCE Delhi have actively participated. There was an overwhelming response and 60 unit of blood was donated against expectation of 25 units of blood.

The activity involved visiting a school for paraplegic children attached to the Sanjeevan Deep School of the Paraplegic Foundation, Airoli. 6 volunteers taught 25 children with hearing disability how to use Power Point. The volunteers had a planned system of articulating the steps and the teacher was translating the instructions into sign language. 15 minutes into the program, there was no need for interpreters. The TCE volunteers took over – there was so much excitement and sign language was no bar at all. The children quickly created banners with their names flashing, worked with basics in preparing and presenting in Power point.

A blood donation as camp was organised by HRM JDC. More than 100 units of blood were collected during the camp. Approximately 180 employees volunteered for the camp.

A training session on mehendi rachna was organised for bustee women at R D Bhatta sub-centre. The volunteer gave useful tips to the budding girls.

A special kabaddi techniques was organised for young talents. The volunteers gave valuable tips to the aspiring players.
 
  Health awareness camp Tata Steel  |  Jamshedpur
 
A free medical health awareness camp for villagers & school children was organized on 17th March 2016 at primary school of Bhuridih. The Camp was organized under the Tata Volunteering Week 5 activities from 3rd March to 4th April. A team of employees from JDC New Bar Mill, Tata Steel volunteered for the same.
 
  Donating school furniture Tata Motors   |  Jamshedpur
 
The Head CTR & MB MFG along with his team members went to Government Primary School at Sindurgouri village of Potka Block and distributed school furniture like desks and benches. The volunteers mingled with the school children and encouraged them to remain in school.
 
  Awareness session Tata Chemicals   |  Mithapur
 
28 Volunteers participated in the meeting about planning and preparation for creating awareness about women’s empowerment and skill development. Volunteers prepared an action plan for adoption of villages for engaging with rural youth about their career planning and skill development options for them. They also plan to have a separate women’s day celebration at Mangal Karyalay on March 27, 2016.

The activity was conducted at Mulvel with a play performed by Mulvel Prathmik Shala students titled "Plastic Assur" based on pollution created by plastic waste.
 
  No Plastic Campaign Tata Chemicals   |  Mithapur
 
11 Volunteers along with the members from the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Leather and Rexene Cluster created awareness about the use of non-woven cloth bag instead of using plastic bags among all the shop-owners at Surajkaradi market. They also distributed samples of the bags made by them at the cluster and received orders for the same from the local shop-keepers.
 
  Visit to a charity Tata Metaliks  |  Kolkata
 
The Managing Director, V.P (Operation) Tata Metaliks and the V.P (Operation), Tata Metaliks DI Pipes Limited along with other Senior Management team visited Missionaries of Charity , Brothers Home. They distributed cake to all the residents. The donations collected from the employees of Tata Metaliks & Tata Metaliks DI pipes Limited were also distributed to them. The Managing Director met with in-Charge of Missionaries and asked him about the difficulties faced by them. The In- Charge requested to provide 5 Wheel Chairs & one Mega washing machine. The M.D advised to arrange immediately and assured him that the Sadbhavna Trust of Tata Metaliks & Tata Metaliks DI Pipes limited will always make effort to extend support in order to make the life of inmates better and healthy.
 
  Quiz competition Rallis India  |  Lote
 
On 16th March, 2016, volunteers of Rallis India Lote Unit conducted a Quiz Competition on ‘General Science’ at Z P School -2, Ghanekunt for their 6th & 7th Standard students. 35 students participated in the Quiz competition. The volunteers prepared 36 Nos. questions on general science based on the understanding level of the students. All the students completed the competition within given time. It was a highly informative competition / session for them as per the feedback given by them and the school teachers.
 
  Drawing Competition Rallis India  |  Lote
 
Five volunteers from Rallis India Lote Unit visited Z P LP School -1, Ghanekunt, Lote and organized a drawing and coloring competition for the students. All the drawings were based on their standard and understanding so that it will be easy for them to draw and colour the given subject. With the help of the volunteers and their teachers they completed the drawing and colouring session. It was a great experience.
 
  International Women's Day TPDDL  |  Delhi
 
TPDDL celebrated its 7th International Women’s day on March 8th, 2016 at its training center CENPEID. Head-HR & Admin along with Senior Women Officials & Wives of Senior Leadership Team participated.
 
The event started with a safety oath and a small movie which beautifully showcased the various life stages of a woman. This was followed by dance performances from women employees. In parallel, the sketching contest took place wherein each participant got 30 minutes, to sketch on theme “Celebrating Womanhood”. The participants were further engaged in Tug-of-War competition. Other attractions like Mehendi and Nail-Art was organized. Beneficiaries getting trained at TPDDL Vocational Training Centre, Jahangirpuri provided these services. Lunch was followed by prize distribution for the above said competitions.
 
A seminar was also organized on “How Real Women Get Ahead?” by a professional counseling agency. Another session on “Policy on Sexual Harassment” was delivered to enhance awareness level about sexual harassment at work place.
 
  Technical knowledge sharing session TPDDL  |  Delhi
 
Sub Transmission System-North Group of TPDDL organized a knowledge sharing session for 1st Year Electronics & Communication Diploma Engineering Students of Guru Tegh Bahadur Polytechnic at TPDDL Grid located in Trinagar, Delhi. Theme for session was Basics of Grid Sub Station & Role of Communication in Electricity Distribution Field. A total of 69 students are covered during two days under this onsite training. The session started with students & faculty members Safety Oath along with TPDDL officials followed by briefing, classroom teaching and hands on training. Such knowledge sharing sessions on latest technological updates prove to be very instrumental in enhancing technical competency level and marketability of students.
 
  Soft skill training TPDDL  |  Delhi
 
Volunteers from Learning & Development team of TPDDL took soft skills sessions for the Vocational Training beneficiaries enrolled in the vocations of Electrician & Computers at Sector 3, Rohini. Through a well-designed module volunteers imparted session on Motivation and Stress management to nearly 30 kids. Beneficiaries were not just enlighten after the session but also shared that such learnings will help them in becoming a better performer in their respective careers and personal lives.
