  Fundraising initiative Tata Technologies   |  Pune
 
Tata technologies invited Team Okhai to Pune at their Corporate office to raise direct funds for Okhai Women. Okhai is an artisan-led ethical fashion and home décor brand, supported by Tata Chemicals Society for Rural Development (TCSRD). They sell the products online and across 13 stores in India. It is a non-profit organization and it is ensured that proceeds from the sales are only used for artisans’ benefit. Around 500 rural women are being benefited by this program. While craftsmen skills are traditional, Okhai uses modern processes and have professional designers to support the same. They make hand-made Kurtis, customized silk ties, silk stoles, bed covers and cushion covers, laptop sleeves, passport holders, coasters, diaries, pouches, name tags, wall hangings and bags. From Tata Technologies total ₹10005 were generated from volunteers.
 
  Cleanliness drive Ginger Hotels  |  Manesar
 
As a part of TVW-5, a group of ten volunteers from Ginger Hotel, Manesar organized a session on Cleanliness & Hygiene for our surroundings. Our Volunteers conducted a practical session on proper cleaning & hygiene of surroundings and explained the importance of the same to the general public. During the activity, we all actively participated and cleaned the adjacent areas of our surroundings after which the area was usable for the general public.
 
  Plantation drive Ginger Hotels  |  Manesar
 
With an aim to contribute to the environment, In Ginger Hotel, Manesar 12 Volunteers team planted saplings of fruit & flowers in Hotel Premises where each volunteer contributed his best towards the mother earth. In order to reduce Global warming, these kind of activities should be adopted on routine monthly basis.
 
  Baking workshop Indian Hotels  |  Jodhpur
 
Taj- Umaid Bhawan Palace employees believe in giving what they can to others. Chef Eureka from food production and Radhika from Human Resources went to Happy Hours School to take a session on bakery classes. They met with principal of school and she briefed our volunteers that they are celebrating Bakery day in their school. The volunteers arranged colorful balloons and counters for kids. Kids were so happy and enjoyed the session very much. In the end Chef Eureka also played games with them.
 
  Home safety awareness programme Rallis India  |  Lote
 
On 15th March, 2016 Rallis Lote Unit volunteers organized a Home Safety Awareness Programme for the Women’s Group of Brahminwadi of Songaon village. There were 35 women present in the awareness programme. The Lady Sarpanch of Songaon and few key personnel of the village were also present in the programme. All the participants and volunteers enjoyed the event and expressed their thanks to Rallis.
 
  Tree plantation drive Tata Capital  |  Hyderabad
 
Tata Capital, Hyderabad team of 15 volunteers came forward for a tree plantation drive in Shathi Nilayam in Bakaram village. The volunteers planted 40 saplings with the help of a children in the Shanthi Nilayam home . The importance of planting trees, contribution for the ecological restoration and spreading greenery awareness was shared by volunteers to the children. The volunteers spent a considerable time interacting with the care taker, understanding the operations of the home and the challenges they face because of their medical condition. They also spent valuable time interacting with all the children, encouraging and motivating.
 
  Founder’s Day Bake-off Tata Communications  |  London
 
Each year, London office celebrates Founder’s Day. This year, the Charity Fun Focus Group decided to celebrate the Founder’s Day with more fun and excitement by organising a Bake-Off. Blue colour was the chosen theme and all volunteers were asked to be dressed in the shades of blue; and also bake a cake in blue. The excitement and energetic volunteers in London office were at their best. On the celebrations day, 8 delicious homemade cakes were received as entries. Enthusiastic participation from employees generates £194 in an hour to support cancer patient from Mc Millan cancer support.
 
  Session on Product costing and Marketing for community women Tata Communications  |  Pune
 
On 11th March 2016 women beneficiaries of Project ‘Umang’ (a CSR project on creating sustainable livelihoods) along with NGO Partner Foundation for Initiatives in Development & Education displayed their handicrafts in Tata communications Dighi cafeteria. These women have learnt art and crafts through the vocational training programme supported by Tata Communications. Our volunteers helped the women in setting the stall in the cafeteria. The exhibition got a very good response from our employees that indeed encouraged budding women entrepreneurs a lot.
 
Post the exhibition our volunteers interacted with women and talked about Product costing and Marketing to prepare them to face the competition in the prevailing market.
 
Women greatly benefited from the session, especially the topics like how to create an Identity for product, how to be competitive, have a mindset of a business women appealed the most to them.
 
  Women’s day celebration at Umang Tata Communications  |  Pune
 
As part of our employability initiative for women, Project Umang, Tata Communication and Idea Foundation organized a “Women’s Day Programme” in celebration of International Women’s Day. Around 300 community women, who have been a part of Umang in this one year, participated in the program.
 
This event was aimed at encouraging and felicitating women from communities who have completed the Vocational Skills and Entrepreneurship Development Program and taken up small home-based micro-initiatives to earn their livelihoods. From being a housewife, to becoming a significant contributor to the household income, these women have come a long way. This event is to motivate them further for their journey ahead.
 
The interaction between community women and CFO, Tata Communications Transformation Serivices was very enriching. The CFO emphasized on celebrating gender diversity in every aspect of life. Highlighting the importance of economic independence for women, she encouraged the community women to join Umang’s vocational training program. The community women felt motivated to interact with her.
 
  Blood donation camp Tata Housing  |  Mumbai
 
Blood Donation Camp was organized in the Tata Housing office on 9th March from 11am to 4pm. JJ Mahanagar Blood Bank came along with their staff. 35 donors donated blood that day.
 
  Donation of school desks Tata Motors  |  Jamshedpur
 
The AGM, Central Maintenance & Auto Transport along with his team members visited the Government Primary School at Sarsabera village of Potka Block and distributed desks and benches. The Team interacted with the children, Head Mistress, members of the School Managing Committee and villagers. They had a one to one interaction with the children and others present and encouraged the efforts made by all in promoting education of the village children. They emphasized using playful means in imparting education for holistic development of the children. The children welcomed the volunteers by showering naturally grown flowers and the villagers and Head Mistress thanked Tata Motors for the support extended.
 
  Awareness on safe drinking water Tata Projects   |  Hyderabad
 
Tata Projects is focusing in providing awareness to the rural community on safe drinking water, health and sanitation to make a positive contribution to the society. Hence TPL is continuously engaging with the rural communities make an impact in these communities. These programs are conducted in different communities and the employees volunteer in these programs to make a difference.
 
The volunteers visited Jawaharnagar, Rangareddy Dist. to conduct the activity and participated in door to door survey. They took feedback from the villagers. They used flip charts, leaflets and electrolyze to give a demo. They also gave training to operators and entrepreneurs for business development.
 
  Interaction with kids Tata Projects  |  Indore
 
TPL volunteers visited a primary school, near TCS Indore Campus to conduct a student motivational program. Staff Members from TCE & TPL participated in the program and organised a quiz competition & poem recitation acitivty. 150 educational kits and chocolates were distributed to the children.
 
  Distribution of sarees Tata Projects   |  Varanasi
 
Tata Project Varanasi volunteers organised a visit to the Sulabh International Social Service. Employees of Tata projects distributed sarees to the widows and the program ended by the distribution of sweets.
 
  Karate coaching Tata Steel  |  Jamshedpur
 
A special karate coaching camp for special children was organised by employees of Sports Department. The special children were taught the basic moves of karate and employees gave tips on self-defence.
 
  Joy of giving Tata Steel  |  Jamshedpur
 
Joy of Giving, a team of employees from JDC Engineering Services & WGO of Tata Steel visited Nirmal Hriday, Baradwari. The volunteers collectively brought food stuff like biscuits which were distributed amongst the beneficiaries for healthy engagement. Volunteers also donated a 1000 litre water tank & four ceiling fans to occupants of Nirmal Hriday.

Yoga session for secondary school students was organised at Sonari Centre. Theory of yoga was explained and taught to the students
 
  Donation of sports materials Voltas   |  Bangalore
 
Volunteers from Voltas Bangalore visited Abhayashram which is a home for girls, who are orphans, destitute, and children. This is home also for destitute women. Abhayashrama provide formal education to their resident children as well as children from socially and economically backward communities.
 
In a unique way and first of its kind, volunteers of Voltas – Bangalore donated assorted sports goods including cricket bat, stumps, tennis ball, badminton racket, skipping ropes, tennikoit rings, throw ball, basket ball, carrom board and other sports accessories to children of Abhayashram. The sports goods will be gainfully utilized by these children to keep themself physically and mentally tough and at the same time enable them to build team spirit.
