200 volunteers from Tata Chemicals celebrated International Women’s Day with the Oldonyonyokie Girls’ Secondary School where employees from different departments participated in the event. The volunteers educated the girls regarding career guidance talks, reproductive health and clinical communication about HIV and AIDS.

Volunteers conducted and played a football match with young boys and provided one-to-one career mentoring on career guidance. They also sensitized them on cconsequences of youth substance abuse, issues related to addiction, including academic difficulties, health-related problems (including mental health), poor peer relationships, and involvement with the juvenile justice system. They also played a football match with the boys.

Tata Chemicals volunteers organized a volley ball match for community members and Magadi secondary school. They also conducted a talk focusing on effects of climate change in Magadi which has contributed a long dry period and the need to conserve water during raining season and dry seasons.

A model mock examination, ‘Wings Proficiency Test’ was held for the class 10th students of 10 high and higher secondary government schools within the 10km radius of Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL). A total of 1040 students of class 10 were selected for this specially designed event where they were counselled on issues such as stress management during public examinations. The volunteers conducted the tests with the help of the teachers. After the test, exam kits were distributed to all the students and toppers were given ‘certificates of appreciation’.
