Ginger Vapi volunteers, along with the Valsad Racers group, actively participated in the Parnera Hill Parikrama, a 7 km hike with the aim of spreading health awareness and educating the masses about the impact of plastic waste on our environment. The volunteers promoted health awareness, along with a message to say no to plastic bags and to use environmentally friendly cotton bags.

A plastic collection drive was organized by the volunteers where they first educated raised awareness on plastic waste and how single use plastic waste harms the environment. The community was educated on ways tp reduce single use plastic waste and replace with cloths and paper bags. The volunteers moved on to collect 45-50 kgs of waste consisting of cement bags, putty bags, plastic packaging, electrical rubber/ insulation waste, foam and other plastic waste. The waste was then sent to a recycling and disposal plant.

A cleaning drive was conducted at the Kovalam beach by TCE volunteers of TCS-NTP Project, Chennai. The volunteers created awareness among people to keep the beaches clean and not pollute by throwing plastic and other wastes materials. In total 15 bags of waste was collected, each bag weighing to about 3-5 kgs. The waste was then disposed at proper government disposable site.
