Tata Chemicals Mithapur Region

The Mithapur region where Tata Chemicals owns and operates its chemical plant is facing a serious threat to its biodiversity due to the rampant spread of an exotic weed called the GandoBabool. This weed is spreading at the cost of the indigenous flora which is getting steadily wiped out. Indigenous flora species like the Gugal (Commiphorawightii) is on the verge of extinction. Wild animals like the Star Tortoise, the Indian Wolf and the Pangolin were once to be found here have now vanished. The Gando Baval weed has now entered the township area through neelgai and cattle droppings and may pose safety hazards. As a part of TVW-3, TCL employees and their family members have launched a drive to check the spread of this exotic weed and reintroduce indigenous flora species which are much needed to sustain the wildlife of the region.

Who says Football is just a Game... here's what Lionel Messi, one of the all time greats has to say: "I'm more worried about being a good person than being the best football player in the world. When all this is over, what are you left with? When I retire, I hope I am remembered for being a decent guy." On Saturday, 7th March, Tata AIG Football Team got together at Jogeshwari, Mumbai, to clean a dirty tract of land. They decided to undertake the work on Thursday afternoon and at a short notice could not find brooms "who cares as long as we have our hands" they said and got down to work...We applaud these wonderful players and surely see a Messi in each one of them...if not equal in play but surely in life as truly Good Guys
