TCS-Maitree leads, directs and facilitates all activities related to employee engagement and volunteering at the workplace for the internal community (TCSers and their family members). It focuses on the underprivileged / differently abled communities as well as environmental sustainability as part of its CSR mandate. TCSers across the world participated in several activities during the Tata Volunteering Week

  • A session on combating exam stress was conducted for Prerna Girl's School students in Lucknow
  • Games were organised for the destitute children of Rainbow Homes, an NGO in Chetpet, Chennai
  • TCSers held a conversational English class for children of Prerna Girl's School in Lucknow
  • Children of Akansha school in Lucknow were given maths and science tutorials
  • A spoken English session and painting competition was organised for HIV / Aids infected children of DESIRE society
  • Inmates of Aaina, an organisation which works with people with disabilities, women and children, in Bhubaneshwar, were given tips on health and safety
  • TCSers created awareness on environmental conservation for Bisipada schoolchildren in Bhubaneshwar, through story-telling and songs
  • Volunteers organised a blood donation camp in Hyderabad
  • TCSers in Sydney cleaned up Parramatta Park
  • A football training session was held for children from the slum areas of Gandhinagar
  • School kits were distributed by the employees among primary school students of Anjaiah Nagar, Hyderabad. A health camp was also organised for them
  • TCS employees along with employees from Taj, Tata Capital, Tata Sky and Tata Communications visited Victoria Memorial School for the Blind, Mumbai. They also arranged a cricket match and held interactive sessions
  • Students of Sandhesh were taken on a trip to the Nehru Planetarium, Mumbai. Employees from Tata Sons and Tata Services also joined in to make it a fun day for the children
  • Volunteers from TCS and Tata Sky Kolkata visited Tapassya Ananda Ashram
  • TCSers interacted with children from Gawarewadi School in Pune
  • Installation of birds' nests drive was conducted at the TCS Gandhinagar Infocity campus
  • Employees from TCS Maitree, Ecology club visited Maharishi Dayanand Educational Society, Delhi, and created social awareness on the use of organic colours and public transport
  • An essay writing session on gender equality, talk on empowering women, career counselling, and a drawing competition were held for children of Bal Vriksh
  • A fun camp was organised for children and spouses of the housekeeping staff in Delhi
  • Various activities and interactions were conducted for the students of Mera Sahara School at Nithari, Delhi

Volunteer speak

Yatrik Buch: We had a bird nest installation drive at TCS Gandhinagar Infocity Campus. Nest boxes were purchased and installed by volunteers celebrating the spirit of volunteering. It was a first of its kind experience for all volunteers and they enjoyed it thoroughly.
