Tata Volunteering Week was launched by Bangalore Plant, in presence of senior team
members and union members. On this occasion Bangalore plant, reiterated the relevance
of employee volunteering initiative which is very much in line with the philosophy
of giving back to society While deliberating on key highlights, it was shared that
Tata Power Solar has consistently performed well among the group companies under
employee volunteering program.

Rally for rivers campaign

Volunteers conducted creative writing and art contest for students of a school on
‘Rally for rivers’ campaign. Rally for RIvers and Kokuyo Camlin joined hands to
encourage school children to participate in this campaign and help spread awareness
about reviving the rivers.

A Mega blood donation camp was organised by the Swamy Vivekananda Voluntary blood
bank at Unit-2 Manufacturing plant. A total of 55 volunteers came forward to donate
blood.

A team of 18 employees visited an aanganwadi – a place where young children are
taught. There were about 30 children studying in small room. Everyone enjoyed teaching
them rhymes. They distributed stationery items & sweets to the kids.

Employees of Tata Metaliks collected a few items like clothes, hair oil, toothpaste,
toothbrush, and biscuits and distributed among the residents of Nirmal Hriday, Missionaries
of Charity, Kharagpur. Employees danced and sang songs with them.

10 volunteers cleaned a Government Primary school Kundroria toilet. They carried
cleaning materials like brooms, toilet cleaner, toilet brush, odonil, soaps for
hand wash, hand gloves, buckets & mugs and handed them to administration in charge
to maintain cleanliness levels. Electrical issues were also addressed along with
set up of few bulbs & holders in classrooms.

A Team of 40 volunteers from Tata Power Solar organized a tree plantation drive
at Govt School Maragondanahalli village contributing towards environmental sustainability.
Volunteers also cleaned and painted the school’s class rooms. They provided water
tanks and serviced computers.

20 volunteers visited the Paediatric ward of Adyar Cancer Hospital managed by Mahesh
Memorial Trust. They organised a magic show for about 80 kids. Few employees engaged
the kids with some fun activities like mimicry and fun games. They distributed Aavin
flavoured milk, Badam and Threptin biscuits to the kids.

The JDC Members & employees of Tata Steel, R&DSS JDC organised a visit of 32 children
with parents and teachers of a school to the Tata Steel Zoological Park and Jubliee
Park. The team also served lunched to all the children and parents during this visit.

Hospital coordinated the event along with volunteers from Tata Elxsi. This has the
potential of saving 200+ lives.

Over 20 Tata BSS volunteers took etiquette training for housekeeping & security
staff at Tata BSS offices in Delhi, Kolkata & Jamshedpur. The trainees were very
happy to learn the nuances of the soft skill. For many it was the first time they
were getting such a session with several everyday examples.

The volunteers visited the Agra Bear rescue facility-Wildlife SOS, a home to over
200 sloth bears rescued from horrific lives as dancing bears, or from poaching and
situations of man-animal conflict. The team fed the bears fresh fruits.

12 team members from PPPM visited Antyodaya Bhawan managed by Nav Jagrat Manav Samaj.
The centre serves the purpose of rehabilitation and care of leprosy affected individuals.
During this visit team members spent time with inmates and interacted to know about
their needs. On this occasion volunteers distributed fruits among inmates and contributed
to sponsor lunch for a day.

the children. They enjoyed some songs and played games with them.

Volunteers from Electrical Maintenance visited the Pipla camp school and conducted
a drawing competition for 100 girls. All volunteers were very happy to spend the
quality time with girls. They also donated water filter and organised a plantation

of the corporate world from youngsters like them.

Volunteers from Tata Steel Kalinganagar (Infrastructure department), Jajpur visited
"Vyasabhumi Orphanage". They interacted with the children. New dress material was
given to all 21 children along with caretakers on the eve of Durga Puja festival.
A combined lunch along with all residents of "Vyasabhumi Orphanage" was arranged
and the Infrastructure team enjoyed the lunch with the children.

Awareness session

A group of volunteers conducted an interactive learning session at a school for
special children. They used a powerpoint presentation to educate the children on
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and road safety. The session also included helpful tips on
safe use of firecrackers, electric appliances and mobiles.

29 Volunteers from Tata power Solar conducted a road safety awareness campaign near
the Electronic city junction main road and Veerasandra junction, where the team
members distributed a pocket Tip cards on road safety, Statistics of road accidents,
traffic rules and general safety measures to be taken during emergencies. This whole
activity was done in consultation and the advice of the Traffic police department
– 600 people were reached with the road safety awareness campaign which included
the two wheelers, 4 wheelers and truck drivers.

Health, hygiene and nutrition drive

Multiple volunteering programs related to health, hygiene and nutrition awareness
for students and adolescent girls; and medical camps for rural communities were
organised in villages around Mithapur during the last week. Medical check-up camps
were organised at Samlasar and Dhrevad villages. Doctors and paramedical staff from
Mithapur Hospital volunteered for the same. Medicines were given gratis to patients
by the team. Nutrition and hygiene awareness programs were organised at Arambda
and Surajkaradi villages for students and adolescent girls. Awareness on nutrition,
balanced diet and importance of clean hands was communicated through role play,
songs, drama and practical demonstrations. TCL employees and their family members
volunteered for organising these programs.Volunteers from the Tata Chemicals Society
for Rural Development (TCSRD) helped in communicating the program details amongst
the community to widen outreach.

A group of 10 volunteers helped organize a Skill Development for Inclusive Growth
program focused on young ladies at the Learning & Development Centre in the township.
The orientation program intended to motivate & mobilize girls from the locality
to take up Industrial Sewing Machine Operator's training at Bhubaneswar, a joint
initiative with Sahi Exports Pvt Ltd.
