  Say No to Plastic Waste campaign in the villages Coastal Gujarat Power  |  Mundra
 
CGPL volunteers started the ‘Say No to Plastic Waste’ campaign in the nearby villages. The objective of the campaign is to create an awareness on effects plastic waste has on the human and animal life if it is not disposed carefully and methodologically. The volunteers visited each household in the Village Maska and the campaign was kicked off from the panchayat Office. The Panchayat members along with the fellow villagers also participated in large numbers. The leaflets, posters were also distributed which were designed and printed for this specific purpose. Volunteers also interacted with the shopkeepers in the village and briefed about keeping the environment clean, using dustbins to dispose garbage and discouraging the usage the polythene bags. The act of CGPL volunteers was indeed appreciated by the villagers.

The volunteers in Ahmedabad conducted a food donation drive for the dwellers. The volunteers served food and enjoyed spending time with them.

23 Home science students and a teacher from Dharmapala College, Kalutara arrived at Vivanta by Taj, Bentota to learn about hygienic food preparation and service. 5 chefs worked together to explain to the children how cross contamination can be prevented and many other aspects of food hygiene. Attractive and mouth-watering food preparation was demonstrated to show the children how to make excellent food, keeping food safety in mind. Two volunteers from F&B Service explained to the children how food which is prepared in a hygienic manner can be served without reducing the standards in quality and taste. An Ayurveda Doctor from the SPA and Sandamali from the Fitness Centre spoke to them about maintaining physical wellness through exercise and responsible behaviour.

Ginger Hotels, Vapi conducted a blood donation camp to encourage volunteers to come forward and do their bit. 8 volunteers donated blood as a part of this initiative.
 
  Distribution of sports material at School of Hope JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers joined hands to visit the special children of School of Hope to distribute sports equipment and materials to them. The team gave away skipping ropes, volley balls, tennis ball, hurdle stands to encourage these special children to play all kinds of sports and games. Volunteers also spent quality time with each of these children to bring smiles on all their faces.
 
  Blood donation drive Indian Hotels  |  Andhra Pradesh
 
As part of the Tata Volunteering Week 7, the Indian Red Cross Society was invited to conduct a blood donation camp at The Gateway Hotel, Vijayawada. 18 Associates participated in the noble cause by being voluntary donors. This act was not only a depiction of Tajness but an excellent example of how the Taj doesn’t only create good living, but also healthy lives. All the HODs motivated their teams by taking the lead for this initiative. It was heartening to note that many of the participants were first-timers!
 
  Zero Waste Management Awareness session JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers organized an awareness session on ‘Waste Management’ for the principals and teachers of various government and private schools and colleges to enlighten them on this topic. The team also visited the Bara Land Fill site, Dry Waste Centre, Makdum Land Field sites where waste management is practiced to give them an idea of the procedures. This awareness session was organized so that this message is spread across all educational institutions and organizations.
 
  Energy Conservation awareness JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers from JUSCO organized ‘Energy Conservation Awareness Programme’ for the residents of Ramchanderpur. The team enlightened them on the importance of power and electricity in our daily lives and how one should take proper measures to save power and electricity. Moreover, the team also distributed LED bulbs to all the residents to start off as the first step towards conservation of energy.
 
  Science Exhibition Rallis India  |  Kolkhe
 
Group of tribal students from 5th to 8th standard from Kolkhe village have organized a science exhibition at Bethany school showing various Science experiments like maglev, static electricity, satellite, sound system & telecommunication system, gravitational force & law of Pascal. Volunteers observed each & every experiment of students. Students explained the experiment with the principle behind it. Volunteers also shared more knowledge about the respective experiment to the students. Volunteers asked various questions to check the knowledge of the students and students also confidently answered their question. Three best experiments were awarded prize and volunteers encouraged students to focus more on Science.

Under Tata Swatch Awareness Generation & Motivation Programme 44 volunteers participated & visited 352 House Holds to meet and explain the importance of clean water in day to day life.
 
  Session on personal hygiene Rallis India  |  Lote
 
As a part of TVW7, a group of six volunteers from Rallis India Lote Unit visited Z P School, Hedwadi, Sheldi, Lote and organized a session on hand wash, personal hygiene & sanitation for their students The volunteers conducted a practical session on proper hand washing, personal hygiene and explained the importance of the same in day to day life.
 
  ‘Bal Utsav’ - The talent festival for the village school children Tata Chemicals  |  Mithapur
 
Bal Utsav is the biggest volunteer program in Tata Chemicals, Mithapur, under the TVW-7 employee volunteers and their family members of Tata Chemicals adopt different schools from the villages of Okhamandal, they guide and train the rural students for various competitions – singing, dancing, painting, and quiz and science exhibitions. Bal Utsav program witnessed participation of 345 students and 55 teachers from 27 village schools of Okhamandal.
 
  Visit to a Cheshire home Tata Motors  |  Jamshedpur
 
Head -Department of Psychiatry, Medical Services engaged with the residents and the care taking Sisters at the Cheshire Home. The Home provides facilities like food, shelter, clothing, entertainment and medical care to the residents. The doctor met and cheered up all the residents by meeting them individually. They also examined some residents having acute ailments and prescribed medicines for their fast relief.
 
  Celebrating the festival colors Tata Consultancy Services  |  Lucknow
 
Holi, the festival of colors epitomizes happiness and righteousness. TCS Lucknow volunteers celebrated Holi with children from disadvantaged backgrounds residing in a nearby slum. The volunteers sensitized the children about the precautions to be taken while playing with colors. This was followed by a sprinkler based game through which tried to inculcate the relevance of team spirit and competitiveness amongst the children.
 
  Interaction with women SHGs Tata Motors  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers from CTR of Tata Motors, Tata Technologies and family members engaged with women self-help group (SHG) members at Byangbil village. A lively interaction took place between the SHG members and the volunteers who are organized into small homogeneous groups to develop health seeking behaviour, pursue adult education for becoming literate and operate micro- businesses for augmenting their income levels. The volunteers were very happy with the awareness and confidence levels demonstrated by the women, who while taking care of their families, also had started individual as well as group businesses by taking benefit of the Government’s schemes on SHGs. They enthusiastically bought the incense sticks of various aromas prepared and sold by them. They apprised the women about the potential marketing scopes available in the city by scaling up production, making low cost improvements in branding the incense sticks and gave an orientation on improving the maintenance of financial accounts.
 
  Plant visit for girls Tata Motors  |  Pantnagar
 
The Plant Head urged the volunteers for maximum participation in social drive activities during the TVW 7 and spread the happiness of being together for the noble cause. The volunteers from the ER, CCE and Customer Service department comprising of more than 10 volunteers coordinated the plant round visit for the Girls Government Inter College ( GGIC) having more than 65 girls with an objective to have vehicle familiarity and best practices related to safeguard environment.

Team of Utility Hand Trainees organised plantation drive in Bistupur. With the recent climatic changes leading to depletion of the ozone layer, planting trees is the need of the hour. The new members of Tata Steel, Jamshedpur have pledged to care for the environment.

Volunteers from Voltas-Bangalore visited Navachethana Trust which runs a school for differently abled children in Bangalore. The team spent valuable time with the children and also donated some money towards maintenance and upkeep of the facility at the school.
