Volunteers briefed the students on major health, hygienic & sanitation training. Students of 7th and 9th standard were guided regarding various career paths. Volunteers distributed linen to the Principal for usage of furniture and table covers. Food packets and chocolates were distributed among children. Students were very enthusiastic throughout all the activities.

Volunteers plunged to celebrate the colorful festival of Holi with the differently abled children of the institution ‘Jeevika.’ The team spent quality time with children suffering from mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism. They presented music and dance show for the team and felicitated them with lots of love and warmth. Thereafter, volunteers played Holi with them using dry colors and distributed sweets and snacks to all the children which brought immense happiness on their faces.

The campaign ended with a strong message on how girls should be aware of their personal health.

21 volunteers from Tata Capital and Air Vistara participated in a volunteering activity conducted as a part of the Tata Capital’s Affordable Housing CSR project of part funding houses for 40 tribal families with Habitat for Humanity India. Upon reaching Bendgaon in Dahanu, the volunteers were divided into two teams and worked closely with the masons and home owners to help build two houses. The teams were engaged in mixing the mud mixture used as an alternative to cement, passing bricks and the mud mixture and lined the bricks till the window level. Although the activity was physically tiring, the experience of building a home for another family left the volunteers gratified.

TCS volunteers across buildings was all geared up to get their hands in for TCS Maitree Swachh Bharat Clean-up drive. The drive started at different assembly points across 9 buildings and the associates covered the areas around the office campus. As a part of the drive they gathered inorganic waste, picked up all the plastic materials and disposed the garbage ensuring a clean locality. Later, after the Clean-up, the volunteers went up to the shopkeepers and corn sellers in and around the area. A message to put up trash bins around their stalls and to encourage customers to keep their surroundings clean was conveyed. Overall, the activity also underlined the message that we need to not only talk about issues and complain about them but also take an active initiative.
With more than 50 wholesome bags of garbage, the teams did an excellent job at the clean-up in 3 hours.

The Centre also has a temporary hospitalization facility for medical treatment to residents of Ashrams supported by Tata Motors due to wounds and ulcers developed due to loss of sensation. They interacted with all the residents and served fruits and sweets. Some residents sang devotional songs which they love to sing.

Tata Power-DDL inaugurated its 17th Vocational Training cum Tutorial Center at Lal Bagh, Model Town, New Delhi. The center was inaugurated by the CEO & MD-Tata Power-DDL. This center is in association with NGO-Society for Advancement of Village Economy (SAVE) and shall cater to 420 beneficiaries annually through Computer Training, Beautician and Tutorial classes. The inauguration program was facilitated by 26 TPDDL employees including the senior management team. Women Literacy Program beneficiaries along with other NGO partners were also present during the ceremony.

An enthusiastic group of students instigated the volunteers to share their first-hand experience with an innovative and fresh outlook. Senior leaders participated too. The plant visit concluded with touching upon the major assembly lines of the industrial campus. This provided an opportunity to observe how work actually gets done; as even the most lucid description of how work flows are managed around a shop or how operators use charts and diagrams to solve the problems, is no substitute for seeing things in practice.

More than 20 volunteers participated in the activity. THE UFHE children, thoroughly enjoyed the quiz competition organized by volunteers, which not only tested their knowledge but also enhanced them. The event concluded by the distribution of School bags and water bottles to the children by the senior leaders.

The CSR team of TML drivelines visited “Sankalp” an NGO run by the students of NIT Jamshedpur to provide education to the underprivileged children. The event witnessed the participation of around 100 students who interacted in batches with the volunteers of TML Drivelines. To encourage the layering of richly imaginative ideas, the event also saw the organization of a drawing competition for the students of Sankalp in three categories i.e. Class I to III, Class IV to V and class VI to VIII.
