  Visit to the Tata STRIVE center Indian Hotels  |  Mumbai
 
The Training Manager at Taj Wellington Mews engaged with the youngsters at the recently launched Taj Tata Strive Skill Building Centre in Mumbai. She addressed the very first batch of 25 hospitality Food & Beverage (F&B) stewards. These youngsters showed a great sense of enthusiasm with the readiness to take up hospitality as a career option. The students were curious asking her many questions about hotels and career options. In her 2 hour session, the volunteer touched upon this and topics such as grooming standards, appropriate body language and communication skills all of which are essential to know by F&B professionals. With the help of role play and case studies, she helped to drive home the point of the importance of these topics that are integral to be a successful hotelier.

With aim of serving the residents of the slum area, a team of 15 volunteers provided fruits & biscuits to them.
 
  Training chefs in a government resort Indian Hotels  |  Gurgaon
 
Human Resource team along with Chef went to Saras Damdama, resort maintained by Haryana Tourism in Damdama Village. Chef spend time with them explaining hygiene standards and why it is important to take care of hygiene while working in kitchen. In entire session chef covered importance of hand wash, sanitisation of utensils and its importance, segregation of veg and non-veg items, etc. Saras Damdama is not equipped with all equipment which is used in 5 star resorts; therefore chef also explained optimum utilisation with minimum resources and how to run operations in a better way. Saras Damdama team thanked The Gateway Resort Damdama Lake for spending time with them as they were not aware of so many policies and procedure and it will help them to work and grow in future.
 
  Water for Women Tata Communications  |  Mumbai & Pune
 
Tata Communications endeavored to generate awareness among Tata Communications employees and young girls from nearby communities about the issue, at the same time help these girls chart out a career trajectory based on their interests and available options in the country. To that effect volunteers from Mumbai and Pune offices, teamed up to commemorate efforts of women by painting earthen pots, which are essentially the symbol of daily struggle for clean water. The campuses were abuzz with excitement, nearly 208 volunteers in Pune and 187 volunteers in Mumbai, painted vibrant matkas with amazing enthusiasm and wrote inspiring messages for women beneficiaries of these matkas. The event reached out to 44 adolescent girls through career mapping session and 100 families.

Continuing with the spirit of volunteerism a team of employees and senior executives from Khondbond visited the schools of Khondbond and Guruda Village. Under Joy of Giving school bags were distributed among the students of both schools. Volunteers also did some activities for encouraging the students to come to the school regularly and actively participate in the learning process.
 
  Cleanliness drive Indian Hotels  |  Gurgaon
 
Team at the Gateway Resort Damdama Lake, Gurgaon decided to clean the area near resort and resort periphery clean under the Swachch Bharat initiative. Associates from different department joined hands for the initiative and cleaned the entire area, as it also helped villagers to understand the importance of cleaning. Human Resource Manager met Sarpanch (head) of Village and assured the cleaning around the resort will be taken care by The Gateway Resort, Damdama Lake, Gurgaon Team. The area was cleaned by associates with proper gear, associate also shared it makes them happy to be part of Corporate social welfare.

A mega one day Blood Donation Camp was organised by Power System JDC. 65 donors participated in the camp and donated blood voluntarily.
 
  Helping the differently abled youth Ginger Hotels  |  Ahmedabad
 
A team of 26 Volunteers from Ginger Hotel Ahmedabad visited Blind’s People Association- Andhjan Mandal, Ahmedabad. BPA is one window service for persons with disabilities and is a professional organization which believes in providing equal opportunities to all people with disabilities. The volunteers donated food packets and had an interactive session with them in their I.T.I cutting and tailoring and Mechanical department.
 
  Plantation drive Tata Motors  |  Pune
 
A team of volunteers from Tata Motors- Pune conducted a cleaning activity and tree plantation at Karla cave premises. 40 saplings were planted at Karla. The Karla cave office will take care of the plants.
 
  Visit to a village JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers joined hands to make a visit to the village Kankee and spent quality time with the school children there. The team distributed school bags, stationeries, educational kits and goodies to all the children which brought big smiles on all the faces of the children. The team members spent almost a day with these children and interacted with them whole-heartedly.
 
  Visit to an NGO TASEC  |  Gurgaon
 
The volunteers visited Desire Society and interacted with the children. The volunteers broke the ice by getting into an impromptu gig. This had the 30 children swing and shake their legs for almost an hour. This was followed by the much required refreshments. The volunteers also delivered a session and a quiz on the Importance of Cleanliness in ones life, which was well received by the children.
 
  Visit to an orphanage Tata Motors  |  Pune
 
A team of volunteers visited SAMPARC-Balgram, Bhaje orphanage. They spent quality time with the children and shared motivational thoughts. The team also donated stationary items, sport equipment and grocery from the funds raised by the department.
 
  Sports activity at Parents’ Association JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers organized a sports meet for Special Individuals from Parents Association, Dhatkidih. Enthusiastic participants participated in games organized for them. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and excitement. The team members concluded the day by distributing school bags, water bottles to all the children and interacted with each one of them whole-heartedly.

TVW7 was celebrated at Central Public School, Rajanikhand, Sharda Nagar Lucknow. Volunteers along with 250 school children's & school staff actively participated in the volunteering activity. Training on Road Safety, Health and Environment was given by slide presentation and fire safety by fire extinguisher was given to the School Children’s along with office team members. Tree plantation (PAPAYA & MANGO) programme was also a part of the activity in the school. Young children’s along with school staff has taken the safety pledge. The school management requested us to organise such type of CSR activities if possible at regular intervals. After the above-said programme we also distributed sweets among the students and the school staff.

A team of 9 volunteers from Tata Motors- Pune visited the New English School, Kohinde. The team interacted with the children and gave guidance on future career options. The team also distributed chocolates and donated 55 library books to the school as per their requirements.
 
  Health & hygiene awareness at KPO JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers decided to make a visit and conduct a health and hygiene awareness campaign for the site security personnel’s at the KPO site. The team members enlightened the security personnel regarding general health and hygiene and also emphasized on safety related norms while they are at the site. The awareness campaign ended with a question- answer session where a lot of security personnel cleared their doubts.

A Tree plantation, Health check-up, blood grouping and Dental kit distribution to school children program was held at Mukherjee hutting village near Joda. 20 saplings (Fruit bearing trees) were planted in the school premises.

A team of 22 volunteers from Tata Motors- Pune team visited the Jagriti Blind School. The school houses 147 blind girls. Most of them are from the rural areas of Pune, Khandesh, Marathwada and Vidarbha. This school being residential in nature, the facilities provided are free to the students the cost of which includes lodging, boarding, education and medical assistance. The team interacted with the children and distributed snacks and also donated grocery items for the month to the hostel as per their requirements.

The estate organized a medical health check-up camp cum mid-day meal program at Bokakhat Orphanage. The program was a grand success and was appreciated by all the local members in the orphanage.

A team of 23 volunteers from Tata Motors- Pune visited Nirmal Bal Vikas Sanstha at Chakan. The team donated an automatic sewing machine, an electrical extension box, sweets, eatables, stationary items, old clothes & toys to the orphanage. The team engaged the kids in activities like singing, jokes & puzzles etc.
 
  Health & hygiene awareness for site workers JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers joined hands and made a visit to organize a health and hygiene awareness for site workers at NOPR site at KPO. The team members prepared and serve ‘ Nimbu Pani’ to 400 laborers and also distributed soaps to each labor for washing hands after using the toilet, to spread the message of personal health and hygiene and encourage them to start this practice of cleanliness.
 
  Campaign against use of polythene bags Coastal Gujarat Power  |  Mundra
 
Yet another day for the volunteers from CGPL for the noble cause during the volunteering week; the team from CGPL visited another village to disseminate the information and created an awareness on menace of polythene bags. Volunteers made door to door household visits, shops and in the school for campaigning against use of polythene bags. They apprised the community and the school children about the health and environmental hazards posed by use of polythene bags. They distributed leaflets bearing messages and illustrations on the hazardous effects of plastic. During the interactions with the shopkeepers, they appealed, discouraging the polythene bags and educating the customer to discontinue the use of polythene bags, instead use either paper or cotton bags. The interaction with the school children was very encouraging; they asked various questions on plastic waste which were suitably addressed by the volunteers. This campaign by the CGPL volunteers reinforced CGPL's drive and endeavor to make the surroundings and adjoining areas plastic free.
 
  Green Initiative JUSCO  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers took a green initiative at Kadma Housing near the Rain Water Harvesting Plant where the spread the message of ‘Clean Jamshedpur Green Jamshedpur’. The team members planted 100 saplings of various seasonal flowers and fruits in the surrounding areas and made an effort to save the environment and make it a greener place.
