Tata Chemicals conducted a blood drive in their New Jersey office for employees to participate in.
 
  English skill mapping test Rallis India  |  Akola
 
Rallis India Limited, Akola volunteers visited Blue Lotus Convent School at Shivani and conducted an English skill mapping test for the students so as to cover them under the English Literacy Programme. The volunteer’s along with school teachers conducted the mapping test of total 45 students.

Under the initiative of skill upgradation of women the Rallis India Akola started the tailoring course for underprivileged women from Shivar, Shivani & Malkapur area. After the successful completion first two batches Rallis inaugurated 3rd & 4th batch of 25 women each. The class was inaugurated by the Corporate EHS & CSR Head.

A team of 15 staff members participated in a plantation drive near the hotel area and were made aware of environmental responsibility & Importance of plantation.

Team Ginger Mysore has carried out a training session for the First Year Students from Vidhya Vikas College of Hotel Management. The hotel manager explained the hotel functionality and its operations to each students. Post which they were escorted to all the departments by hotel team and all the department staff explained their role & responsibilities in the hotel. Some of the students were involved in housekeeping operation and some joined hands in F&B department. After the training debrief session was conducted by the hotel manager.

8 Volunteers from Ginger Hotel Pantnagar visited Jawahar Lal Nehru District Hospital, a government hospital where the team was explained the importance of Blood donation and collected the donated blood. The camp witnessed inflow of over 11 enthusiastic volunteers. Due to varied health precautions only 8 volunteers were found eligible to donate blood. The two hours long activity was a demonstration of complete dedication to save lives.
 
  Bio-diversity exposure visit Coastal Gujarat Power  |  Mundra
 
The volunteers from CGPL in large numbers has decided to form a Bio-diversity Club which will connect the people with the environment and rich Bio-diversity aspects of Kutch. Nomination was sought and a large numbers of volunteers shown their interest for this unique cause. The CGPL volunteering team decided to arrange an exposure visit to a place nearby which can create more enthusiasm among the volunteers. The volunteers were given the idea and concept of Bio-diversity by the Biodiversity experts, its significance for the mankind and also for the entire ecosystem of the region. They were also briefed about the responsibility of the human being, the equilibrium and co-existence among all the species, flora and fauna and many other aspects of Bio-diversity. During their visit, they were shown the terrestrial mangrove which is one of rarest presence in Kutch, different rare vegetation, birds etc. The volunteers also interacted with the members of BMC (Bio-diversity Management Committee) and got the idea how the BMCs are performing their duties and responsibilities towards Bio-diversity conservation and preservation. CGPL volunteers also put up nests in the tree which can attract more birds. The volunteers felt proud after seeing different activities conducted by CGPL for conservation of Bio-diversity in partnership with internationally acclaimed agencies like IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resource) and Sahajeevan.

To create public awareness among the vendors, an awareness camp on Health and Hygiene was organized by the volunteers. For this event all the hotel vendors were formally invited by the Area Materials Manager. The program was initiated where all the vendors and their respective representatives were briefed about the importance Health and Hygiene by a Microbiologist. Later, a small TCOC session were also conducted for the vendors.

11 Volunteers actively engaged in cleaning the Technopark area Trivandrum which is adjacent to the hotel. Plastics waste accumulated in the area was cleared and unwanted grass was also cleared.
 
  Conducting a quiz competition for children Rallis India  |  Lote
 
Volunteers of Rallis India Lote Unit conducted a general quiz competition at Nutan Vidyalaya, Lote for the 10th standard students. The volunteers prepared 30 questions and all were related to district level, state level, national level and international level matters. 18 students participated in the competition. At the end of the session prizes were distributed to the winning team.

A team from Land & Market visited Primary School Hakegora for the Inauguration of Kitchen. The school kitchen was not in good condition the Land & Market department took the responsibility and renovated the kitchen. Under Joy of Giving the team also donated the plates & glasses for the children for the mid-day meal along with two ceiling fans for the school. A volunteer from Intelligence visited Bal Vikas R. D. Bhatta and organised a fancy dress competition for the children of Bal Vikas. A volunteer from F&A visited Primary School Changira and distributed sweaters to the students.

An awareness program on fire and domestic safety was organized for the community girls. The Head (Security Services) along with 5 employees conducted the session. This program was specially designed for home-makers and girls to take various precautions and remedial measures to prevent fire at home, especially in the kitchen and also how to control the situation if there is a fire incidence at home. 70 ladies and community girls attended the program and learnt the importance of fire and domestic safety.

A team of 27 volunteers participated in Green India campaign by planting 50 plants in the neighbourhood, thereby ensuring all having a healthy life by creating a fruitful environment.
 
  Dental check-up camp The Tinplate Company of India  |  Jamshedpur
 
A dental check-up program for 100 students of Std 2 & 3 of Hindustan School was organized. A dental surgeon from Tinplate Hospital examined all the students. The dental health conditions of 100 students were captured which would subsequently be sent to their parents to seek medical attention of those children having severe dental problem. Medical team from Tinplate Hospital along with volunteers from TCIL participated in the program by providing support service and explaining to the students about good dental health practices & oral hygiene. A set of dental kit was provided to each student.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd Oct, 2016, a team of volunteers consisting of executives & staff from the Deptt of Admin, HRM, Security, CSR, Civil of Tinplate Company organised various events to hone the talent of children of Harijan Basti where 100% population are from Dalit Community. General Secretary & other senior office bearer from Golmuri Tinplate Workers Union also joined in this programme. The purpose behind organising this function was primarily to spend some time with the children & dalits who are most deprived community of this society, spread the message that we are equal and we do not believe in untouchability. It was a great experience & satisfaction for the members of Management & Union Team of Tinplate Company to have spent some time with the members of this community.

A group of volunteers undertook a visit to Gobardhanpur village in Deojhar Gram-Panchayat in Joda block of Odisha. During their visit they interacted with the women self-help-groups and the Village Development Samiti on the importance of participation of women in all spheres including home, work front, community level, etc.

Volunteers from Ginger Hotel, Goa launched a cleanliness drive in Kadamba Bus Terminal in Panjim. The team dedicated this to the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan. They were also able to create lot of awareness among commuters.

The volunteers visited the work place for differently abled children, adults and senior citizen. They assisted them with painting diyas, making paper bags right from cutting the paper to folding then finally sticking. They learnt to paint aesthetically and how much effort diya painting can take. They were stunned to see the blind make bunches of safety pins with 3 different sizes just by feeling, judgement and experience.

Tata BSS COO donated furniture to an old age home and spent quality time with the senior citizens. During TVW5 he had visited the same old age home which has sparse furniture and had made a mental note of coming back and give some.

16 Tata BSS volunteers along with 4 volunteers from other Tata Group companies visited Smith old age home. They had a long interaction with the elderly residents of the home- distributed food items, conducted various engaging games gave out gifts and made them very happy.

On Gandhi Jayanti, many volunteers from Ginger Hotel Bhubaneshwar paid their respect to the father of our nation. The team was excited to spread happiness at Adruta Children Home where there are more than 40 abandoned children. The volunteers distributed snacks and drinks and also conducted many games and awarded medals to these children. The hotel team also donated 26 Pillows which was specially washed and prepared by the Laundry partner - Maa Sarala Laundry.

Our employees from the Croma Centre Square store, Baroda visited the Lion Girls Blind School and distributed lunch to the children. On the school’s request, the team collectively contributed and bought trinkets and ornaments which were gifted to the children for the upcoming Navratri festival.

30 enthusiastic volunteers from the Croma Aundh and Wakad stores, Pune visited the Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Primary School for the underprivileged children and planted saplings on the school premises. They also donated stationery items like notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers and food products. The volunteers had a fun filled interaction with the school children.

15 volunteers led by Senior Management from Tata Steel Head Office, Mumbai joined hands to clean up the prominent Girgaon Chowpatty Beach. The team undertook a cleaning drive at select points. Post Ganapati Visarjan, the beach is sprawled with waste materials abandoned after the celebrations and the washed up fragments of the immersed idols. The volunteers removed several garbage bags full of plastic, paper, cigarette packets, plastic cups, food containers, broken bottles, clothes, rubber slippers, wooden planks, etc. All the waste was collected in garbage bags and thrown in the garbage bin maintained by the Bombay Municipal Corporation.

On the occasion of International Day of Older persons 16 employees of Tata Motors visited an Old Age Home where volunteers interacted with the elder people, donated the grocery items for them and performed some group activities so as to bring smile on their faces.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti & Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, the volunteers from Titan partnered with Manava Vatsalya Foundation and organised Drawing competition, General Knowledge Quiz and gave a Speech on Freedom Fighters and Soldiers. They also distributed notebooks, cash prizes, drawing books, crayons, snacks and other study materials to underprivileged students.

38 donors took part in a blood donation drive. Even though it was a physically painful activity, the employees were found visibly happy giving blood whole heartedly as they realised that is the master of all noble causes as one unit of blood could save around 3 lives.

Rallis Volunteers organized a visit to a tribal village Aghai near Shahapur. The volunteers met villagers to understand their concerns about their daily survival. the volunteers organized creative photography with the help of TISS students for village youths focusing on the best they can do with the available resources near their houses and village youths also participated enthusiastically by capturing unique snaps and explain the theme behind that and how it would be useful in future. Volunteers shared health & hygiene awareness focusing on clean drinking water cleanliness at surrounding their houses Volunteers also planted few trees like mango, jackfruit and chiku so that these trees would add nutritional value for their health in future.
