Volunteers along with GEC member Harish Bhat participated in a friendly exhibition football match with the community children. The children gave a tough competition to the team. The volunteers had a great time interacting with them.

The Ginger Vadodara team joined together to teach the street kids about health, hygiene & education to encourage the kids to stay healthy. Note books with pencil box were given to all kids along with dental kit & soap. The volunteers shared a delicious meal including sweets & chocolates with the children.

The team of the volunteers from CGPL has conceptualized Guzaarish, which is to give a platform to the specially-abled to showcase their talents and their potential. This event is unique in many sense not only because of the participation of each and every family member of the CGPL volunteers residing inside the township but all the presence special dignitaries who also graced the event. The event was organized and the traditional kutchee artisans were given the platform and they thrilled the audiences with their performances. The songs and different instruments which they used are very rare and not much in use due to rapid modernization. The artists from Kala Varso were invited and their performances spell bounded the audiences. The presence of large numbers of volunteers has also motivated the artisans to perform the best.

Ginger – Chennai Vadapalani organized a blood donation camp at the Hotel wherein a team from Jeevan Blood Bank visited the hotel explained the importance of Blood donation and collected the donated blood. The camp witnessed inflow of over 21 enthusiastic volunteers. Due to varied health precautions only 11 volunteers were found eligible to donate blood.

A team of 14 Staff members visited Andh Kanya Prakash Gruh School and organized a Cricket Match with the girls with an objective to spend time with them and lighten up the day for them. The girls enjoyed themselves and the activity concluded with the prize distribution ceremony. During the same course of time, the team members interacted with them and also distributed Snacks to all.

The volunteers organized a blood donation camp. It witnessed inflow of over 65 enthusiastic volunteers from the Hotel. Due to varied health precautions only 49 volunteers were found eligible to donate blood.

The team led by senior colleagues met with the authorities and bagged the prestigious task of maintaining one of the tram cars used to ferry tourists through the bylanes of culturally rich Kolkata. Volunteers for this initiative were excited and enthusiastic as they gathered at the time office to begin giving back in their own way to the city which has nurtured them. The team washed, cleaned, serviced, dusted, shampooed & painted the tram thus giving it a squeaky clean appearance with a brilliant shine.

The creative thinking team at the hotel jointly began the drive to collect books of all sorts for all age groups. The enthusiasm was infectious and associates signed up relatives and friends to participate in this drive. School books to story books, detective series to comics, personally brought in by family members all found their way into the collection cell.

Thirty one Vivanta by Taj Bentota volunteers organized a volunteering program for Government Hospital in Aluthgama. The volunteers have committed for 7 hours during the day to complete the above task. The purpose was to assist the hospital in its goals to provide comprehensive health care to the community we serve and give a meaningful outlet for the human need to be of service to patients. This volunteer program included repairing of all plumbing, carpentering, welding and electrical works in the entire hospital.

24 of Vivanta by Taj, Bentota associates had spent more than 2 hours in clean up the beach vicinity. Many volunteers from Vivanta by Taj, Bentota turned up for the beach cleaning campaign and was able to collect lot of general waste, glass, empty plastic bottles and aluminium cans etc. Vivanta by Taj, Bentota has made this bold move in initiating this beach cleaning campaign in order to become a model for the rest for not only to clean up the environment but also to involve in activities that benefit the community. The Bentota Beach Clean Up campaign aims to improve tourists' experiences, make the coastal areas safer and cleaner for both beach-goers and marine animals alike, to provide employment opportunities for previously unemployed individuals and to boost the coastal economy during the festive season.

Six volunteers from the Support Office of Infiniti Retail visited Snehasadan NGO to interact with the children. Snacks were distributed and along with that food provisions and stationery which was collected from other volunteers in the office was also handed over.

Volunteers from JUSCO volunteered during the introductory session of a five day long Mushroom Cultivation training to the villagers of Harisunderpur. They also interacted with the villagers discussing on the importance of modern methods of cultivation and encourage them to learn as much as they can during the session to implement the same to get a better harvest.

Volunteers from JUSCO took Swachch as their mission for the day at Shastri Nagar, Block No-3 and Bhalubasa, Sakchi. They joined hands in cleaning the surrounding areas with the help of the residents and spread awareness among the residents there on how to keep their household area clean and dirt-free to save from dengue, malaria and other communicable diseases.

Volunteers from JUSCO were filled with excitement and enthusiasm when they made a visit to Shishu Bhawan at Baradwari. They gave lots of happiness and joys to the infants and children there when they distributed colorful soft toys, clothes, baby kits and packets of baby food to all of them. The team spent lot of quality time with all the children which brought big smiles on all their faces.
 
  Selection Exam for Engineering Coaching for SC/ST Students JUSCO   |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers from JUSCO conducted an examination for SC/ST students to select a few of them for imparting special coaching to them for engineering exams. The team also interacted with the students and advised them about how to prepare for other competitive examinations also. The students faced questions on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English and were given two hours to finish the examination.
 
  Distribution of Educational Kits JUSCO   |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers from JUSCO spent half a day with the students of Rajkiyakrit Kritmadhya Vidyalaya by singing songs and reciting poems with them. The team also distributed cursive writing books to primary students along with pencil and pen sets, colour pencils and crayons, biscuit packets and goodies which added to the excitement in students.

Volunteers from JUSCO presented a Nukkad Natak for community awareness in several residential areas of Kasidih and Baridih and made them aware about health and hygiene, preventive measures to save from malaria and dengue. The team was successful in spreading the message through the nukkad natak they had conceptualized.

Volunteers from JUSCO organized a debate competition for the students of SS High School. Students participated in full spirit for this competition and prizes were given to the best speakers. The team also took a green initiative by planting fruit trees within the school premises.
 
  Science quiz competition Rallis India  |  Akola
 
To create the liking & interest about science subject, Rallis Akola volunteers visited Z.P.Primary School at Malkapur. The volunteers conducted Science Quiz Competition for class 7th students of the school. Normally the kids from the rural background not having sound exposure and liking of science subject. To create interest about the subject the Rallis Akola volunteers developed the 30 standard questions for the quiz competition. The top three achievers were presented the prizes during the occasion. Total 45 students participated in the competition.

Akola volunteers conducted a Home Safety Awareness session for women of Sisa-Bondarkhed village at Akola. The volunteers given the valuable information about the precaution & care to be taken at Home. The villagers were well engaged with session that they called the volunteers at their home individually to access the unsafe conditions at the houses. Around 150 women taken benefit of the session.

Rallis Volunteers along with the General Manager organized a session on English Literacy Development Programme for the students of Z P School, Matwadi, Songoan. The volunteers covered basic word formation from Alphabets, find out the missing words from the given words, right pronunciation of words with its meaning and helped the students to write down the words in the board. They also actively participated in the session by checking the words in student’s books, helping them to make proper words, helping the students in writing the words in the board etc.

A group of Seven Volunteers from Rallis India Lote Unit went to Gunde High School and conducted an awareness session on Road Safety by Power point Presentation, Video clips and verbal discussion for the High School students. Road accidents are happening on daily basis in all areas and we should take maximum care to reduce the number of accidents by way of arranging awareness programmes to different levels of people in the society. 210 students were present in the training session. At the end of the programme few students expressed their willingness to work towards reducing road accidents.

A group of Five volunteers from Rallis India Lote Unit visited Z P School, Ghanekunt 1 and organized a session on Hand Wash, Cleaning & Personal Hygiene for their L.P. students on 24th September, 2016. A total of 25 students were participated in the programme. The volunteers conducted a practical session on proper hand washing and personal hygiene and explained the importance of the same in life.
 
  Biodiversity program Tata Chemicals   |  Mithapur
 
Volunteering programs for creating conservation awareness, protection of wildlife and establishment of biodiversity database have continued consistently at Mithapur through the month with involvement of employees, family members and retired employees. The exercise for mapping of tree biodiversity of Mithapur continues and almost 40 percent of the township area has been covered through voluntary support. A total of 58 tree species and 4776 trees have been recorded. A program for conservation of wildlife habitats was organised. Volunteers helped collect and remove plastic and other trash from coastal wilderness of Mithapur which provides refuge to jackals, neelgai, wildboar, hare, mangoose, reptiles and over a 70 species of birds.

Tata Chemicals with support from Tata Memorial Hospital organised Blood donation camp for the cancer patients at its office at Leela Business Park (Andheri, Mumbai). During the camp 51 employees came forward to donate blood but only 33 employees were permitted to donate after screening by the doctor.

At Theni ICD unit a screening was done on diabetic retinopathy to the identified diabetic people in association with Aravind Eye Hospital, Theni with the support of TCL medical team. The most effective way to avoid diabetic eye disease is to keep tight control of individual’s blood sugar. Excellent control of high blood pressure and cholesterol is also important. People with proliferative diabetic retinopathy can reduce their risk of blindness by 95 percent with timely treatment and appropriate follow-up care. Through this program 57 diabetic persons have got benefitted. Vision Screening was done and medicines were given to the diabetic people.

TCE Kolkata office team visited APC School, Salt Lake, Kolkata for a career counselling session. The aim was to highlight various career paths available for students after completing their high school studies. We felt that such guidance would help the young generation choose right career as per their interest. In order to make the programme more versatile the volunteers decided to nominate speakers coming from different professional background available at Kolkata office. They spoke on the career prospects of Engineering, Defence Services, IT and HR.

40 employees of different departments visited Astha: Home for Elderly at Lucknow. The employees had interaction with 58 old aged people and distributed fruits to them. The employees spent quality time in listening the view point of the old aged persons.

10 employees from Tata Motors came forward and became a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Cleanliness Drive) at Chembur Naka School and helped in cleaning the school premises. Students from Chembur Naka School came forward and spread awareness about the importance of cleanliness through the medium of Skit, Songs and Slogans based on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan where volunteers also interacted with the students and spent some quality time with them.

Tata Power DDL, in association with Indian Red Cross Society, organized blood donation camp at its district office, Bawana. Employees very enthusiastically took part in contributing for the noble cause. The camp had a registration of 132 motivated and enthusiastic employees of which 121 units of blood were collected. TPDDL is corporate donor of Indian Red Cross Society and have been recognized regularly for the contributions made by the employee volunteers in saving lives in distress.

Cultural clubs of Tata Power DDL, Abhivyakti & Navras organized walkathons on various themes of Safety, Climate Change, Electricity & Energy Conservation to sensitize common masses at Civil Lines & Rohini Sec 3. In total 170 volunteers took part in these 2 walkathons where they carried banners/placards carrying messages along with slogans based on the themes through public address system.

Meter Management Group from Tata Power DDL took part in the fumigation campaign with in joint collaboration with Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Health Deptt., Horticulture Deptt. & RWAs. The team fumigated an area of 4-5 kms, distributed chlorine powder and awareness pamphlets to residents. Local area councilor was present during the campaign and appreciated the efforts made by the company. A team of 22 volunteers took part in the campaign.

Tata Power DDL organized theme based health awareness session at its 2 vocational training cum tutorial center at different locations of North & North West of Delhi. The mobile dispensary team sensitized beneficiaries about Hazards of Tobacco, Adolescent health etc. 68 beneficiaries were sensitized through these awareness sessions by 7 volunteers.

A group of volunteers of Tata Sponge visited Kolhahundual village in Anseikala GP of Joda block in Keonjhar district, Odisha. During their visit they undertook cleaning of Anganwadi centre and Primary school campus involving the children along with their teacher and parents. They also made the villagers and students aware about the importance of education in today’s world. Also, made them aware of the bad effects of alcohol on health & social life. They were also requested to stop practicing superstitious rituals and depend on medical services available and PHC & CHCs.

A team of volunteers visited Kundrunala village near Joda with awareness program against Tobacco and Alcohol. Need was felt to visit this village to motivate the female members of the houses and lessons taught about how to prevent their husband or children from addiction of alcohol and tobacco. Several male members were also motivated to stop bad habits if they are intoxicated to these items.

A team from Joda visited Satyasai Vidya Madir, a middle school of Bachchu hutting village near Joda. Around one hundred forty children study in this school from class I to VII. Blood grouping, Eye scanning and dental and general health check-up was done for all the children by Joda medical team and health awareness lessons taught among the children. Two students found suffering with Dermatitis and one having vitamin deficiency were referred to Joda Central hospital for further treatment. All the students participated enthusiastically, happiness observed among the students was remarkable.

11 members of the Mahila Samity (wife of TSL employee / officers) visited Mankadia sahi and interacted with women and children on the occasion of reopening of the Non Residential Bridge Course (NRBC) at Mankadia Sahi. This is an endeavour of TSRDS and ASPIRE to enroll 43 never enrolled / drop out children. Members of the Mahila Samity along with representatives of TSRDS and ASPIRE visited households of Mankadias and motivated families and brought 43 never enrolled / drop out children to NRBC.

The Finance & Accounts JDC organised an awareness rally campaign on Road Safety at Beldih Church Signal main road. During the campaign citizens were requested to follow road safety rules like use crash helmet, seat belt, helmet for pillion rider, rules to be followed at zebra crossing etc. Team members from Finance & Accounts also distributed road safety awareness leaflets to all as a constant reminder of Road Safety and Traffic Rules & Regulations.

The Team from CSR – Tata Steel wire division, Tarapur and TMRCT – Thunga Hospital jointly conducted Free Health Check-up Camp for underprivileged or backward community of identified village Khaniwade- Dhamatnepada. Medicines were distributed during Health check-up camp. A total of 79 patients were examined.

Tata Technologies Lucknow team organized Drawing competition in Primary school at Ganeshpur. Drawing sheets and crayons were distributed by employees to students and various themes such as National Flag, Scenery and Swachh Bharat were given. Chocolates and snacks were distributed as a token gift towards their participation by the volunteers. 1st 2nd and 3rd prizes were given to students at every class respectively. Volunteers spent quality time with the children and experienced the feeling of being connected with children.

STEM program aims to instil curiosity and interest in the school children towards science and engineering subjects and enhance their experiential learning. Engineers from Tata Technologies, Pune visited local schools at Maval Taluka, Pune and held sessions related to STEM subjects. They interacted with students from 8th 9th & 10th class and solved their queries related to Science Technology Engineering and Math.

20 Volunteers participated to clean six class rooms, Anganawadi room and computer cum library room. Volunteers also cleaned all the item inside the rack/shelf, upper storage portion, removed dust and placed all items back. Volunteers from team also checked computers and identified problem in 1 of 4 computers and suggested solution for same. The volunteer also took session on hygiene and health to around 130 children in school. Volunteers also distributed biscuits to all childrens.

A Blood Donation Camp was organized for the employees of TCIL. Employees of almost all the Departments of the company participated in large number in the Camp and made it a grand success. Around 100 units of blood were collected from the donors. This was done under the supervision of a team of Doctors & others from Jamshedpur Volunteer Blood Donors Association. Every donor was given a gift as a token of appreciation by Tinplate Company.

A Physical Fitness Training program was organized for the students of Vidya Jyoti High School in its premises under the guidance of senior colleagues. The volunteers conducted a 2 hours PT Class for Std V to Std X Students. He informed the students the importance of exercise in daily life. Being a footballer of District level, he explained various techniques of playing football. Students were motivated and took the pledge to do daily exercise and remain physically fit.
