  Awareness for farmers about crops APPL  |  Assam
 
The volunteers sensitized the farmers about Spice Technology and Commercial production for enhancement of income for better livelihood through Sustainable Agriculture Practice with focus on Spices (Pepper). They also explained the term - Spin-off which is the potential of this low volume-high value crop (pepper) and the anticipated revenue they can earn from pepper after 4 -5 years of planting; which will give their families a steady extra income annually besides other farming activities.
 
  Inauguration of a school CGPL  |  Gujarat
 
In order to provide education facility Coastal Gujarat Power Limited ( Tata Power) started a small school of pre-primary level named “Vidya Jyoti “ for business associates and some of their families are residing at Urja Gram (Colony for business associates) to commemorate CGPL Annual day and ongoing Volunteering week. The school was inaugurated by the ED & CEO-CGPL along with the Senior Management
 
The school has been established with the objective of encouraging literacy by extending the education facility to the kids of associates. Uniform, school bags, books etc. were distributed to all students present during the function. A teacher has been appointed to oversee the school activities & teach the students. CGPL employees as Volunteers will be also invited to teach in this school as per their convenience as a volunteering effort which can be truly matched with the ethos of Tata Volunteering week. Large number of CGPL volunteers participated in the Inauguration function and committed to spare their quality time for the Social Cause.
 
  Blood donation camp Ginger Hotels  |  Mangalore
 
23 employees had donated blood voluntarily in the camp organised by the Indian Red Cross society at the hotel. The staff was very proactive & open minded from a social perspective.
 
  Hygiene awareness Ginger Hotels  |  Mangalore
 
49 employees actively took part in the Environment, Hygiene & cleanliness drive. The COO, Ginger Hotels headed this initiative successfully. All employees were geared up for this Tata volunteering activity & enjoyed all of it. This has really motivated all team members to organise this kind of initiative once every month.
 
  Clean hands campaign Rallis India  |  Lote
 
As a part of TVW-5, a group of Eight volunteers from Rallis India Lote Unit visited Nutan Vidyalaya, Lote and organized a session on Hand Wash, Cleaning & Personal Hygiene for their U.P. students on 12th March, 2016. A total of 145 students were participated in the programme. Our Volunteers conducted a practical session on proper hand washing and personal hygiene and explained the importance of the same in our life. All the students were actively participated in the above session. At the end of the session we have provided hand wash Soap to all the students.
 
  Wealth from waste Rallis India  |  Lote
 
On 14th March, 2016, Seven Volunteers from Rallis India Lote Unit went to Z P School, Lotemal and arranged a Competition on “Wealth from Waste’ for the 6th & 7th standard students. 35 Nos. students were participated in the competition and all they made beautiful and worthy things from the waste. Our volunteers prepared the students for the competition before starting the session. Prizes were also distributed to the winners. The school management and teachers were very happy on this initiative from Rallis.
 
  Clothes donation drive Tata AIA Life Insurance  |  Kolkata
 
The drive was at a Medical Camp run by NGO – Calcutta Rescue, wherein we donated clothes to the women beneficiaries of the camp. Calcutta Rescue is a registered non – governmental organization (NGO) operating in Kolkata and provides providing free medical care, education, benefits and vocational training for increasing income generation opportunities.
 
  Art therapy Tata Capital  |  Raipur
 
On 4th March, 2016 a group of 30 Volunteers from Tata Capital, Raipur Branch visited Aakanksha Lions School for Mentally Handicapped at Raipur. Activity aimed at the Art therapy for 60 differently abled children. The children were encouraged by the volunteers to use different bright water colors like yellow, green and red to create different strokes by brushes which helped the children to stimulate and react. Stimulation and reaction is a major achievement where the differently abled children are concerned, art therapy also helped them in cognitive development. We also conducted games for the students. All the students participated in the activity happily and they enjoyed with the volunteers and teachers.
 
  Beach cleanliness drive Tata Chemicals  |  Mithapur
 
The focus on coastal and marine ecosystem conservation continued at Mithapur and volunteering activities designed for protection of these ecosystems were organised during the weekend. The Mithapur beach plays host to nesting of the Olive Ridley and the Green Turtles. Both these marine turtle species are endangered. Beach cleaning program was organised on Saturday, 12th March evening to collect plastic waste and other trash from the beach area. This is to ensure the nesting grounds of the marine turtles remain clean.
 
  Coastal and marine ecosystem conservation Tata Chemicals  |  Mithapur
 
The coral reef along the Mithapur beach shelters 28 species of hard corals and a diverse marine life. Pieces of abandoned fishing nets (ghost nets) poses a threat to turtles, crabs, snails and marine life. A program for removal of these ghost nets and other trash from the coral reef was organised on Sunday, 13th morning. Employees, family members and retired employees participated in the same. These volunteers also helped in a survey to assess the health status of the live corals at Mithapur.
 
  Knowledge sharing with youth Tata Communications  |  Delhi
 
Tata Communications skill development initiatives are not only aimed at enhancing the employability of young people by imparting technical know-how but imparting right attitude and values too.
 
The volunteers interacted with the students of Skill development center at Scope Minar Delhi on 11th March 2016, and interacted with more than 80 youth enrolled in different courses such as housekeeping, BPO and Retail.
 
They spoke on 'Career Aspirations-Industry Expectations'. Students hugely benefitted by this session.
 
  ‘Litre of Light’ Tata Communications  |  Kolkata
 
In tandem with the theme Nurture-Nature, Tata Communications partnered with Seva Kendra (Kolkata) on 11th March, to engage volunteers in designing low cost solar lighting solution to disadvantaged households through a responsible and sustainable approach.
 
The activity was been planned at Seva Kendra Calcutta’s Rain Water Harvesting Shelter. Activity began with the welcome speech by, Director of SKC, followed by the formal introduction by the solar team about the process of making solar lanterns- be it cutting the bottle, assembling wire, placing the circuit board and LED, painting the bottle etc.
 
18 Volunteers and 5 beneficiaries diligently took up the challenge to put in their effort to assemble it and made 30 solar lanterns out of used bottles. These lanterns go beyond meeting a need for lighting and will enable people to read, study, work and do house hold tasks while saving costs on the use of kerosene and providing better health, environmental and education conditions.
 
  Visit to Cheshire Home Tata Consulting Engineers  |  Jamshedpur
 
Volunteers interacted with the children with a smile on their face and shared a few light moments, had lunch with them. The volunteers collectively arranged lunch items like Rice, Masur Dal, Chicken, Papad with sweets were distributed amongst them. The day ended with some joyful moments like talking and singing of volunteers with all disable girls, which was full of learning, wonder & fun with each other. With this visit the Volunteers resolved to continue their support to the Cheshire Home.
 
  Basic Computer Education Tata Consulting Engineers  |  Jamshedpur
 
Basic Computer Training program was held for the Under-Privileged School Children, where 15 students were given basic computer knowledge by 6 volunteers. With the help of dedicated volunteers, the students were taught how to work on Ms-Word and Ms-Excel. They were also taught how to create an email account and use Google, a search engine on the internet. The children were excited and enjoyed during the session
 
  Cleanliness drive Tata Consulting Engineers  |  Mumbai
 
As a part of CSR activity organized by TCE, a team of 20 Engineers from TCE voluntarily cleaned Bhandup Kund near Bhandup village, Mumbai. After 3 hours of continuous cleaning, every one of the participants had the satisfaction that they had left the place better than when they found it and to do the same thing again in the future.
 
The participants went one step ahead by educating the people who live in the vicinity regarding the maintaining the hygiene in public places like Bhandupeshwar kund where around 300 people walk every day. The team also placed 3-4 make-shift dustbins in the park for public usage.
 
  Visit to Cheshire home Tata Hitachi  |  Jamshedpur
 
A team of 13 THCM volunteers organized a visit to Cheshire Home, Jamshedpur. Children were very happy on seeing all of us with them. All members enthusiastically mingled with children in entertaining them and spent their quality time in dancing and playing with children. Finally before saying adieu food packets specially prepared for children were given to them which they enjoyed thoroughly.

Team Members from Business Excellence and Communications organized sessions on career counselling, value education and photography at Vidyasagar Vidyalaya, Bamangora. While topics covered on career counselling and value education greatly interested the students, session on photography, video recording and cinematography seized the attention of the pupils.

Coaching for matric students was organised at the Baridih Community Centre. Two volunteers gave their services for the betterment of the students.
 
  Sewing training for women Tata Steel  |  Jamshedpur
 
A special sewing cum embroidery training for the bustee women organised at Baridih Centre. A family member gave tips on the art of embroidery.
 
  Weightlifting training Tata Steel  |  Jamshedpur
 
A weightlifting training session was organised at Baridih Centre for young aspirants, the latent talent of the bustee youth. An employee volunteered his services for the same.
 
  Water conservation rally Tata Steel  |  Jamshedpur
 
A rally on Water conservation was organised at Kasidih area. Employees of Tat Steel walked through the bustee area and generated awareness on water conservation.
 
  Computer Coaching Tata Technologies  |  Pune
 
Tata Technologies Volunteers visited and Computer coaching to school children for one hour at Punaruththan Samarasata Gurukulam. In the Computer coaching hour they covered basic topics such as Microsoft word, excel and Paint.
 
  Value Education Program Tata Technologies  |  Pune
 
Tata Technologies Volunteers visited and completed TVW5 Value Education Program at Punaruththan Samarasata Gurukulam with 275 students. Value Education is a volunteering activity where Tata Technologies employees visit NGO OR School and spend two hours of volunteering to teach them about various social & education related topics on hygiene, values, safety and ethics. We have our own syllabus prepared by our employees. We also distributed snacks and fruity packs to students after the program.
