  Visit to an orphanage APPL  |  Assam
 
APPL volunteers visited an orphanage in Bokakhat which houses 33 orphan children. 16 volunteers from the estate cleaned the campus and the rooms of the orphanage. They also conducted a health checkup and provided preliminary medication to the children.
 
  Cleaning a school APPL  |  Assam
 
A team of volunteers from Namroop TE visited the local Proja Bosti LP School where the team cleaned and painted the school building, as part of TVW5. The teachers & students were extremely grateful to the team for brightening up their school.
 
  Donation of computers CGPL  |  Gujarat
 
Coastal Gujarat Power Limited (Tata Power) supported the nearby High school by handing over computers so that the students can excel in computer proficiency. Volunteers from Coastal Gujarat Power Limited visited the school and carried out an initial assessment on the education effectiveness and discussed how the volunteers could groom these young minds. During the interaction with the school management and teachers, it was decided that the students of class 9 will be given basic level of computer training by the volunteers. Weekly volunteering classes by the CGPL volunteers will be held on Math, English and Science.
 
  Blood Donation Drive Indian Hotels  |  Bangalore
 
Rotary Bangalore Blood Bank - Regional Blood Transfusion Centre, Karnataka in association with Vivanta by Taj MG Road Bangalore organized a blood donation drive at the hotel. A total of 35 units were collected at the camp. Each unit of blood, post examination, would benefit 2-3 patients at a time.

The Bhutan team enthusiastically participated in a blood donation drive. A total of 16 donors donated an average of 400 ml of blood each. The national referral hospital, on behalf of their management, thanked Taj Tashi for the noble cause and the volunteers in turn promised to continue such blood donation drives in future.
 
  Painting competition Indian Hotels  |  Bhutan
 
15 kids, mostly hearing and speech impaired, had an interesting opportunity when the team invited them for a painting competition as well as a tour of the property. The children were very excited and explored the hotel. After a tour of the hotel, the volunteers organized a theme based painting competition. They were then treated with High-tea and ended with a group photo session.
 
  Cleanliness campaign at Buddha point Indian Hotels  |  Bhutan
 
A cleanliness campaign was organized at the famous Buddha point. A total of 14 associates, including the HR Manager, cleaned up the area. The care taker of the Buddha statue was very impressed by the volunteering service.
 
  Celebrating ‘World Autism Awareness Day’ Indian Hotels  |  Coimbatore
 
The team invited children from “Kaumaram Prashanthi Academy” to create awareness about Autism. They organized a painting competition and games with balloons to differentiate the colours. A lunch was also organized after the games. During this program all the children taught the associates how to think outside the box and learn to imagine, invent & inspire.
 
  Serving lunch to the children Indian Hotels  |  Hyderabad
 
Volunteers from Taj Krishna, Hyderabad organized a mid-day meal for kids of “Vivekananda Public School”, which is working towards providing quality education to weaker sections of society. The volunteers from the hotel reached the venue an hour before, where they met the principal, teachers and other support staff. The children were all very happy and delighted to interact with the volunteers. Around noon, the volunteers started serving lunch to the kids.
 
  Hygiene workshop for young children Indian Hotels  |  Jodhpur
 
A team of volunteers provided basic knowledge to boys about hygiene and cleanliness to avoid any sort of disease and motivated them by showing a small video clip on hygiene, cleanliness and safety. They also organized a small game with interesting props like masks, caps and whistles to keep children engaged. A routine medical checkup was done for the underprivileged children. The session ended with delicious fruits and juices.
 
  Drawing competition Indian Hotels  |  Jodhpur
 
A drawing competition was organized for the kids of the Bal Shobha Garh Sansthan. The topic ‘Nature’ was given for the competition, to give them a chance to paint their world with bright & wonderful colours, which showcase the talent hidden in those kids & their unique outlook on the topic. Around 40 kids took part in this event. In the end the volunteers gave a goodie bag to each kid, which had a chocolate, muffin & a packet of chips.
 
  Donation drive Indian Hotels  |  Surat
 
A team of volunteers of The Gateway Hotel Surat initiated a week long drive to collect semi/ unused cloths, bags, shoes etc. from the associates in the hotel and clothes left behind by guests. The collected articles were donated to Missionaries of Charity Mother Teresa’s Ashram – Variav, Surat.
 
  Sports competition Rallis India  |  Lote
 
A group of eight volunteers visited 'Jidda' School for children with disabilities in Chiplun. The volunteers organized a sports competition for the students, with the help of the teachers. After the event, a cake was cut to celebrate the birthdays of a few children.
 
  Blood donation camp Tata Business Support Services   |  Pune
 
Over 135 employees volunteered to donate blood at the Gholap Blood Bank. The collected blood will help patients who need immediate blood transfusion. Millions of people need blood transfusions during surgery, loss of blood post an accident or because they have a disease that requires blood components.
 
  Cleaning Adayar Cancer Institute Tata Business Support Services   |  Chennai
 
Tata BSS volunteers spent more than 5 hours cleaning the Adayar Cancer Institute. The volunteers realised that health institutes require extra sanitation as patients need to be vigilant about avoiding infections from unsanitary places.
 
  Medicine & food donation Tata Business Support Services   |  Chennai
The Chennai team visited Anandha Illam centre for rehabilitated HIV affected patients and distributed medicines & food items. The children were very excited to interact with the team and they spent a lot of time getting to know each other. The staff was happy to receive the donation and thanked the team for the memorable visit.
 
  Visit & food distribution in a children’s home Tata Business Support Services   |  Munnar
 
Munnar volunteering team visited a home for destitute & homeless children. The home takes care of around 300 underprivileged kids. The team distributed food items & sweets and spent some quality time with them. Various games and singing sessions were also conducted by the team. The children had a fun time with the volunteers.
 
  NGO/Self-help group stalls Tata Business Support Services   |  Hyderabad
 
The office created a vibrant market place for NGOs’ and Self Help Groups mostly from affirmative action background to sell their products at two of the Tata BSS Office premises in Hyderabad. They displayed varied products like dresses, sarees, table mats etc. The employees were impressed by the range of products displayed by three different NGO's.
 
  Meals on Wheels’ to make a difference Tata Communications  |  Singapore
 
TOUCH Home Care (THC) Singapore, provides home medical, home nursing and home rehabilitative services to help the frail elderly with mobility problems enjoy greater independence and better quality of life at home.
 
Meals-on-Wheels is a meal delivery programme to meet the daily needs of the home-bound elderly. The elderly, who usually live alone, depend on volunteers from TOUCH Home Care's Meals-on-Wheels to deliver their meals every day. 29 volunteers from Tata communications Singapore visited Touch Home Care to spend some quality time with elderly inmates and distributed 100 packets of meals among them. Volunteers were pleased with this small act of giving a love and care bound ‘Meal’ won the hearts of elders.
 
  Visit to an old age home Tata Consulting Engineers  |  Kolkata
 
A team from Kolkata office visited Mahila Seva Sadan, an old age home for elderly women. The women engaged with the volunteers by reciting poems and singing songs. The volunteers also performed for them. Some food items were also distributed to all of them. All the elderly ladies were very homely and shared their life experiences and stories. It was, overall, a great experience to be with them and learn about them.
 
  Traffic safety awareness Tata Consulting Engineers  |  Pune
 
A ‘1 Minute Traffic Safety Drive’ was organized for the resident community at Pune University Circle. The volunteers displayed various safety messages on placards. They also interacted with people about traffic safety like wearing seat belt, helmets and following lane discipline. This was followed by gifting roses and chocolates.
 
  Donation drive Tata Elxsi  |  Bangalore
 
A collection drive for Clothes, Story-books & Toys was organised to encourage the joy of giving. The donations were then given to Sri Rakum School for the Blind and Rainbow Homes. The event was executed well with the great support of volunteers from the Admin team. In total nine big cartons of clothes useful for both adults and children were collected and one carton containing story books, educational CD's and soft toys were collected.
 
  Drawing Competition Tata Housing  |  Mumbai
 
Tata Housing Dev. Co. Ltd (Kalyan Amantra Project Team) organized a drawing competition and small games for the special children of “Shree Bhairav Karna Badhir Vidyalaya” in Bhiwandi. Games like lime on spoon, balls in buckets and water in jar with spoon were enjoyed by the children.
 
  Blood donation camp Tata Housing  |  Mumbai
 
Tata Housing Development Company conducted a blood donation Camp. Approximately 22 units were collected. Everyone felt proud after donating blood for those in need.
 
  Donation of furniture Tata Motors  |  Jamshedpur
 
Teams ERC, TTL and Medical Services and the Head-Department of Psychiatry visited a Government School at Gadra and Damodih village and donated furniture. A lively interaction between the volunteers and school children, the principal, teachers, PRI representatives, mothers and villagers marked a celebration which was a mutually gratifying experience. The volunteers expressed their desire to help the school further by providing ceiling fans once the school obtains electricity connection and arrange a medical camp for the children, which were well appreciated by the school.
 
  Visit to a pre-school Tata Motors  |  Jamshedpur
 
Team Central Planning visited a pre-school at Bangora village, which they have adopted, and inaugurated a recently constructed toilet and drinking water facilities built through their individual contributions. The team also provided note books, pencils, erasers, biscuits, confectioneries and sports materials to the school.
 
  Visit to a primary school Tata Steel   |  Jamshedpur
 
A team of employees from Corporate Audit, Security JDC and Tubes Division of Tata Steel visited the primary school of Lakhaidih, Bagunhatu and Bonta Village, Patamda. The volunteers interacted with the students. In addition to giving their time, employees made financial contributions and shared a meal with the students.
